As Canadians go to the polls, it’s important to remind ourselves why Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau should never be prime minister again. Here are my picks, though this is far from a complete list of his government’s botch-ups and scandals.

What we really need is a vaccine that targets part of the COVID virus that never mutates.
Many aspects of the COVID pandemic have been politicized, not least among them vaccines and specifically the issue of coercion. I know. Where I live some major municipalities including mine are requiring vaccine cards for everything from gyms to grocery stores; yet only 12% of the population qualifies, with those most likely to shop or use the gym least likely to be vaccinated. Idiocracy. But public policy should be based on science; not the other way around even as cognitive bias makes us perceive data to fit our worldview. So yes, it’s important to know if vaccination programs do seem to be impacting COVID breakouts regardless of whatever camp you’re in. And the answer, for now at least, appears to be yes.
A judge has ruled that Prince Andrew’s US lawyer can be served with legal papers in a sexual assault case filed by Virginia Giuffre in New York.
It follows a dispute over whether the prince has been formally notified of the civil claim against him.
New York judge Lewis Kaplan ruled Ms Giuffre’s lawyers could take the US route to serve papers on the prince.
Ms Giuffre, 38, claims she was sexually assaulted by the prince at three locations including New York City.

Wikipedia has suffered an “infiltration” that sought to advance the aims of China, the US non-profit organisation that owns the volunteer-edited encyclopaedia has said.
The Wikimedia Foundation told BBC News the infiltration had threatened the “very foundations of Wikipedia”.
The foundation banned seven editors linked to a mainland China group.
Wikimedians of Mainland China accused the foundation of “baselessly slandering a small group of people”.
Former U.S. president Barack Obama endorsed Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau Thursday, calling him an “effective leader and a strong voice for democratic values.”
Obama said in a Twitter post Thursday that he wishes his friend Trudeau “the best in Canada’s upcoming election,” and that he is “proud of the work we did together.”

Shoal Lake 40, a community on the Manitoba-Ontario border, has been under drinking water advisory since 1997.
On Wednesday, residents celebrated the opening of the community’s C$33m (US$26m) water treatment facility.

Nearly a thousand migrants from Africa, Asia and the Middle East have attempted to cross the English Channel on small boats in just one day to illegally get into the United Kingdom. The record-breaking surge in illegal crossings is being facilitated by warm weather and calm seas.
The British government is struggling to stop the crossings — partly because of its need for cooperation from France. British authorities have repeatedly accused their French counterparts of not doing enough to stop small boats from leaving French territorial waters.
Although the UK has pledged to pay France tens of millions of pounds to stop migrants crossing the Channel, French naval vessels are accused of escorting small boats into British waters.
