They then lobbed a nine-kilogram pipe bomb and a container full of fuel into the imam’s office. It caused an explosion which left worshippers terrified.

In trying to give profile to an article about public attitudes to those who are not vaccinated, the Star stumbled badly in a front-page display, prompting a fierce response from readers, more than 4,000 messages and counting as of Saturday afternoon.
The Aug. 26 article itself tackled a topic that is in the public interest. With a fourth wave pushing COVID cases higher, there are tensions between those who are vaccinated and those who are not. The article explored that theme.

Trudeau goes full on lunatic – vows to regulate oil and gas emissions, electric car sales
Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is putting climate change on his campaign agenda today, laying out a promise to begin regulating total emissions from Canada’s oil and gas producers and invest heavily in job creation and retraining for Canadian fossil fuel workers.
Trudeau is in Cambridge, Ont., where protesters once again made an appearance amid a heavy police presence. Officers carried one woman off the property when she refused to leave when asked.

No one, and certainly not I, would try to whitewash the stylistic infelicities of Donald Trump. He said many things that were toe-curlingly embarrassing coming from the holder of so great an office. But he proved in government as he had in the private sector that he was capable and forceful, and although he had the terrible handicap of personalizing everything and escalating all disagreements, he had a clear conception of domestic and foreign national interests and pursued them very successfully.

In the August 22 cover story for The New York Times Sunday Magazine, San Francisco-based magazine journalist Jaeah Lee touched on the anti-Asian-American hate crimes, but while it’s an important and valid story, it dealt very gingerly with certain aspects.
Lee’s headline used one family’s story as a jumping off point: “Why Was Vicha Ratanapakdee Killed? — His death helped awaken the nation to a rise in anti-Asian violence. For his grieving family, the reckoning hasn’t gone far enough.”
Scattered within the 8,000-word story were hard truths about the commonality of violent black-on-Asian assaults.
Mismanagement the hallmark of Trudeau’s tenure
Andrew Leslie, the former Canadian general who also served a term as a Liberal MP, told Reuters on Friday that Canada’s debacle in Afghanistan “points to an extreme of centralized political micro-management.”
It’s a disaster caused by high-level politicians interfering with what professional soldiers and diplomats should be doing.
China Cancels Christmas for Americans
Quick, someone call Santa. Christmas in America has been called off this year. Supply-chain disruptions in Asia mean no toys for the tots in December.
At least that’s what Vice President Kamala Harris suggested on her trip to Southeast Asia, and she is right. Shelves across America were bare earlier this year, and they will, in all probability, be bare again due to extraordinary supply-chain disruptions in China and throughout East Asia.
There is one solution that eliminates these disruptions and saves the planet. Harris did not mention it, and global elites just hate it.
Chinese university appears to ask for lists of LGBTQ+ students for ‘investigation’
A well-known Chinese university appears to have asked its colleges to make lists of their LGBTQ+ students and report on their “state of mind”, according to a purported internal directive published online on both Chinese and foreign social media platforms.
… The “Campus Survey”, citing “relevant requirements”, asked colleges to “investigate [and] research” students identified as LGBTQ+. It also requested information on the students’ state of mind and psychological condition, including political stance, social contacts, and mental health status. The questionnaire did not explain what “relevant requirements” it was referring to.
Tesla on ‘autopilot’ mode strikes FHP cruiser, narrowly misses trooper, officials say
A Tesla driving on “autopilot” mode hit a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser on Interstate 4 early Saturday morning and nearly hit an FHP trooper who was standing outside the cruiser, an FHP spokeswoman said.
FHP Lt. Kim Montes said the trooper had stopped shortly before 5 a.m. to help a disabled vehicle in the westbound lanes of I-4 near downtown Orlando. The trooper activated his emergency lights and got out to help the driver when the Tesla hit the left side of his cruiser and then hit the disabled vehicle, Montes said. The Tesla “narrowly missed” the trooper, Montes said.
