For decades, Canada’s military had no combat uniforms designed for women. That’s about to change

‘This isn’t a woke issue. This is a war-fighting issue’, said Lt.-Col. Melanie Lake

More than 30 years after Canada’s military allowed women to serve in combat roles, it’s now specifically designing uniforms and body armour to fit their bodies.

For decades, female soldiers have been wearing uniforms designed primarily for men and some say it has made their jobs harder, contributed to injuries and hurt morale.

Retired major Sandra Perron became the country’s first female infantry officer in 1990 and remembers being handed an extra-small men’s uniform.

Something VERY Fishy Is Going on With the So-Called MAGA ‘Split’ Over Israel

Once in Tampa Bay, I saw a big fat guy on a motorcycle. He was riding without a helmet — while chain-smoking cigarettes — and gripping a bag of Arby’s takeout.

That’s right: ARBY’S! (Gasp!) What a maniac!

I thought, “Wow, talk about not caring about your health even a little bit.”

Of course, it’s entirely possible that the guy was the pinnacle of health and fitness, with a lower cholesterol level than me. It’s possible he’ll live to 100, smoking Marlboros and gorging on Arby’s long after we’re all dead and buried.

You never know for sure.

Good read.

Globalizing the ‘intifada’ means war on Canada

Activists in Canada and elsewhere who want to “globalize the intifada” are effectively calling for the murder of Jews. There should be no doubt this is what the phrase means for many of those who would put it into action. To naively — or cynically — argue otherwise is to wilfully ignore reality and risk Canadian lives.

Good luck getting the law to accept that.

‘Merry Christmas’ preferred among growing majority of Canadians, poll finds

A growing majority of Canadians favour “Merry Christmas” as a seasonal greeting, according to a new survey gauging public opinion on a range of festive questions—including when parents should have the “Santa talk” with their children.

Among respondents in the latest Research Co. survey, 67 per cent said they’re partial to “Merry Christmas,” up five percentage points from 2024, and marking a six-year high for the Christmas-specific greeting.

The more-inclusive “Happy Holidays” was preferred by 18 per cent of respondents, down six percentage points from last year, while the rest said they’re either unsure or do not care.

Do women deserve to feel safe on our streets, or don’t they?

Osman Azizov is out on bail. It cannot be, and yet, apparently, it is. Among the 14 charges against the 18-year-old Toronto man, and two alleged accomplices, are sexual assault with a weapon, attempted kidnapping, impersonating a police officer and unauthorized possession of at least one firearm.

It’s a close race, but the kidnapping allegations are perhaps the most disturbing — because who knows what might have been in store for the victims afterwards?

Waymo robotaxis stop in the streets during San Francisco power outage

A massive power outage in San Francisco over the weekend led Waymo self-driving taxis to stop working around the city.

“Significant and extensive” damage from a fire in a substation caused the Saturday afternoon outage that left more than 100,000 customers without power, utility provider PG&E said in a statement.

Videos posted to social media showed Waymo robotaxis halted in the middle of city streets and intersections with their hazard lights flashing, as traffic jams grew and drivers zigzagged around the stopped cars.

Toronto’s set to hit a 50-year low in homicides. So why do many people think crime is getting worse?

The past year has seen heartbreaking tragedy and bloodshed in Toronto.

The shooting of eight-year-old JahVai Roy, struck by a stray bullet in the perceived safety of his home this summer. The stabbing death of grandmother Shahnaz Pestonji, 71, as she loaded groceries into her car on a Thursday morning in July.

But despite such incidents that have seized the public’s attention, 2025 is in fact on track to hit a 50-year low for the number of homicides committed in a single year in the city.

Perception is influenced by quality of life issues and Toronto fails on many fronts.

The transit system is sketchy and used as an insane asylum/homeless shelter while the police are viewed as compromised by a murder cult.

Toronto’s mayor is widely regarded as the dim witted racist puppet of special interests that hate Canada.

Thanks to the federal government’s deliberately harmful mass immigration policy Toronto now resembles a 3rd World Dumpster fire where over 40% of foodbank users are non-citizens.

All of this adds up.
