J. Michael Cole: China is using our legal systems against us

Any strong words Trudeau may mouth about China are to be taken with a very large grain of salt.

Facing growing scrutiny over its sharp power operations, the crackdown in Hong Kong and the ongoing cultural genocide in Xinjiang, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has launched an all-out propaganda campaign to rewrite the facts and discredit its critics. Recently, the CCP has also begun resorting to lawfare — the use or threat of legal action — to intimidate, silence and impose financial and psychological costs on researchers and journalists who are uncovering facts that Beijing doesn’t want us to know about.

COVID-sick passengers continue to pour into Canada: More than 100 passengers arriving in Vancouver refuse ‘mandatory’ hotel quarantine

This comes as COVID-sick passengers continue to pour into B.C. and Canada

More than 100 passengers arriving at Vancouver International Airport have refused to quarantine at a government-authorized hotel since the “mandatory” three-day quarantine was introduced on Feb. 22.

This comes as the B.C. Centre for Disease Control reported 23 flights either departing or arriving at Vancouver International Airport with a COVID-sick passenger on board since the start of April.

Counter-protesters vastly outnumber ‘Klansmen’ at California #WhiteLivesMatter rally as much-publicized event fails to materialize

Scuffles broke out at the site of a planned White Lives Matter rally in Huntington Beach, California, as scores of counter-protesters squared off with right-wing demonstrators. Several people were arrested.

Several dozen Black Lives Matter activists showed up for a counter-protest in response to a rumored ‘White Lives Matter’ rally that was expected to take place at Huntington Beach Pier on Sunday afternoon. However, only several right-wing demonstrators showed up and were heckled by the crowd, with some led away by police, which turned out in force to prevent altercations.

I swear. One day we’re going to find out these “events” were organized by the Democrats, Antifa and the FBI…

However, many of the demonstrations drew few protesters, NBC News reported. In New York City, counterprotesters were unopposed on the street across from Trump Tower, where a white lives matter rally was planned.

In Albuquerque, N.M., police formed a circle around just one protester while a large group of counterprotesters gathered, according to the outlet.

Communist China Relies on Twitter, Facebook to Counter International Criticism Over Xinjiang

The communist regime in China has become more active on both Twitter and Facebook to spread propaganda and disinformation in order to silence international condemnation of its persecution against Uyghurs and other minorities in Xinjiang, according to a recent report.

The disinformation campaign was a joint effort between Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials, China’s state-run media, and pro-CCP online actors, according to a report published by think tank Australian Strategic Policy Institute (ASPI) on March 30.

Chinese Flu sufferer criticized for calling it Chinese flu

A Town of Essex councillor has triggered anger among many locally and far beyond after posting on Twitter about testing positive for “the Chinese Flu.”

Chris Vander Doelen, who retired five years ago from the Windsor Star and has served on council since being elected in 2018, posted the following on Friday: “Damn. My test for the Chinese flu came back positive. So I hafta lay low for another week — a punishment worse than the illness proved to be.”

I wonder how many of those critics are tied to the CCP?

Iran vows revenge for ‘Israeli’ attack on Natanz nuclear site

The Iranian foreign minister has said his country will “take revenge” for an attack on an underground nuclear site, for which it has blamed Israel.

Iranian officials said the Natanz uranium enrichment plant was the target of “nuclear terrorism” on Sunday, after initially reporting a power failure.

New advanced centrifuges to enrich uranium had just been activated there.

Israel has not commented, but public radio cited intelligence sources as saying it was a Mossad cyber operation.

Toronto taxi company considers pumping the brakes on service in some COVID-19 hotspots

A Toronto taxi company is considering pumping the brakes on providing service to some high-risk areas for COVID-19 in an effort to protect its drivers.

Beck Taxi CEO Kristine Hubbard says drivers provided their essential service at the start of the pandemic with the belief that people who were sick with the virus were staying home.

They were driving “to deliver [people’s] essential goods, to take them to their essential appointments,” she said.

Liberals see majority support but face skepticism over spending ahead of budget: poll

The Liberal government is approaching the release of this year’s federal budget in a strong position to form a majority government in the next election, a new Ipsos poll suggests.

Yet the Ipsos poll conducted exclusively for Global News suggests the budget itself could potentially impact that support, with eight in 10 Canadians saying the Liberals should aim for balancing the books if they want to earn their vote.

But 66% say spend spend spend at the same time…

Montreal’s earlier curfew met with protest and rioting

The province is in a sprint to the finish to administer the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, so Quebecers should continue to obey the curfew and other rules until then, Health Minister Christian Dubé told a television audience on Sunday evening as an earlier curfew went into effect in Montreal and Laval and protesters in Old Montreal set fires and smashed store windows.

Minneapolis: Brooklyn Center police fatally shoot Daunte Wright, 20, inflaming tensions during the Derek Chauvin trial

A Brooklyn Center police officer fatally shot a man during a traffic stop Sunday afternoon, inflaming already raw tensions between police and community members in the midst of the Derek Chauvin trial.

Relatives of Daunte Wright, 20, who is Black, told a tense crowd gathered at the scene in the northern Minneapolis suburb Sunday afternoon that Wright drove for a short distance after he was shot, crashed his car, and died at the scene.

Evidently the young man had an outstanding weapons warrant.

Reparations shopping proceeded as planned.

The whitewashing of Black Lives Matter

The whitewashing of Black Lives Matter

The Deep State has done its best to portray Black Lives Matter as a moderate movement.  Wikipedia describes BLM as “a decentralized political and social movement protesting against incidents of police brutality and all racially motivated violence against black people.”  Wikipedia says its loose structure has contributed to confusion in the press.  The confusion is convenient because it allows BLM to disavow any comments by its members the public finds offensive.  Wikipedia claims BLM, “protests have been overwhelmingly peaceful; when violence does occur, it is often committed by police or by counter-protestors.  Despite this, opponents have falsely portrayed the movement as violent.”  House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer doesn’t “accept” the premise that Antifa and BLM are violent.  ABC’s Sunny Hostin maintains that violent protests are “manufactured by the Trump campaign.”  All branches of the Deep State assert that BLM is a respectable non-violent movement.

Biden-Harris Administration Deploys ‘Gun Violence’ Deception – Terrorist mass murders fail to qualify.

“Biden-Harris Administration Announces Initial Actions to Address the Gun Violence Public Health Epidemic,” a “fact sheet,” released on April 7, cites an “historic spike in homicides, violence that disproportionately impacts Black and brown Americans.” Five times the statement decries “gun violence,” a formulation notably absent from pronouncements by Joe Biden when he was vice president to the composite character David Garrow described in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama.

The racism racket: Diversity training in the workplace and beyond is worse than useless.

The racism racket: Diversity training in the workplace and beyond is worse than useless.

‘Complete and utter crap.’ That’s how Bill Michael, until recently UK chair of global accountancy firm KPMG, described the concept of unconscious bias to his apparently stunned staff. ‘There is no such thing as unconscious bias’, he elaborated. ‘I don’t buy it. Because after every single unconscious-bias training that has ever been done, nothing’s ever improved.’ As is the custom nowadays, Michael issued a public apology before tendering his resignation. This is a shame because his comments were not that far wide of the mark. As I explore in a new report for Civitas, the anti-racism training industry does little to improve outcomes for BAME people and, worse, breathes new life back into racial thinking.

When police start raiding our churches, you know the revolution has begun

The sight of police closing down a church service is one of the worst moments of this national panic.

I am more and more sure that this country is suffering a revolution in which much that we used to know and believe is being quietly, insistently destroyed.

But Scotland Yard’s raid on the Church of Christ the King in Balham, South London, was especially distressing, not least because most of the congregation there are Polish, from a country where the Christian religion was only recently freed from state harassment.
