Faster COVID-19 vaccination rollout in U.S. is prompting jab jealousy in Canada

… As of Friday, 101.8 million people in the U.S. have received at least one dose of coronavirus vaccine, 31 per cent of the adult population. In Canada, the number is five million first doses, or just shy of 14 per cent of the adult population.

States like Mississippi, Alaska, Arizona and Georgia have opened up vaccine eligibility to everyone 16 years old and up. Dozens more expect to do so soon.

The good news for Americans has prompted a slew of jealousy, and criticism from Canadians asking why our provinces are so far behind delivering vaccines compared to the U.S.

Anti-Semites Defining Anti-Semitism – And why it’s crucial to push back.

As the 2016 Internal Holocaust Remembrance Association’s (IHRA) working definition of anti-Semitism continues to be adopted by organizations and universities who find it useful as a way of identifying instances of anti-Semitism—and especially the “new anti-Semitism” which couches itself as criticism of Israel—predictably, though unsurprisingly, groups that wish to continue to slander and libel the Jewish state have come out in opposition to it. What bothers these indignant individuals? Possibly the section of the IHRA definition that suggests that “Applying double standards by requiring of [Israel] a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation” is anti-Semitic.

The race-baiters have gone into meltdown

The government’s race report has rattled the race-obsessed commentariat like nothing before.

The government’s new report on race and ethnic disparities has been met with an extraordinary bout of hysterics. The report’s conclusion – that there is no evidence of structural racism in the UK – has sent our race-baiting cultural elites into complete meltdown.

Related… So why does nobody talk about THESE children? Raised by a single mum in a poor home, PROFESSOR MATT GOODWIN knows about hardship. After this week’s race report, he says its findings about the white working-class have shamefully been ignored

Megxit revelation casts doubt on Prince Harry, Meghan Markle interview claim

Megxit revelation casts doubt on Prince Harry, Meghan Markle interview claim

Harry and Meghan told palace bosses ‘you can’t stop us from doing what we want’ in clashes before leaving the Royal family, it has been claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘called the shots’ and specifically instructed press officers on what information they felt should be made public, according to reports.

The claims come despite Harry telling Oprah in the couple’s bombshell interview that no plans were made before Megxit was announced last January.

China launches musical in bid to counter Uyghur abuse allegations

Beijing is attempting to draw attention away from reports it is holding at least one million in Xinjiang internment camps

A new state-produced musical set in Xinjiang inspired by the Hollywood blockbuster “La La Land” has hit China’s cinemas, portraying a rural idyll of ethnic cohesion devoid of repression, mass surveillance and even the Islam of its majority Uyghur population.

China is on an elaborate PR offensive to rebrand the north-western region where the United States and other western nationals and human rights groups say genocide has been inflicted on the Uyghurs and other Muslim minorities.

William Watson: ‘Just Erin’?

William Watson: ‘Just Erin’?

I’m not really getting those ‘Just Erin’ ads the Conservatives are using to introduce Canadians to Erin O’Toole

I have to say I’m not really getting those “Just Erin” ads that the Conservatives are using to introduce Canadians to Erin O’Toole, who has been their leader for eight months now, following an eight-month leadership campaign, following a long leadership campaign before that.

The full story board is that, unlike a well-known prime minister who will remain nameless, he’s not a celebrity. He’s “Just Erin.” And some of the ads are just that: “Just Erin.”

I didn’t even know they were running ads.

China’s Cultural Revolution: The World Turned Upside Down

China’s Cultural Revolution: The World Turned Upside Down

Yang Jisheng’s newly translated history could be a cautionary tale or a sign of things to come.

…The World Turned Upside Down picks up roughly where Tombstone left off, in 1966, with Chairman Mao Zedong seeking to eradicate the remaining conservative and pragmatic leftist forces in his country by declaring a wenhua geming, a “cultural revolution” that would mobilize “the broad masses from the bottom up to expose these sinister phenomena.” Mao, contemptuous of the “Four Olds” (old ideas, old culture, old habits, and old customs) and eager to establish the “Four News” (new ideas, new culture, new habits, new customs), was under no illusion that the process would be straightforward; indeed, he declared that it was only “great disorder under heaven” that could create “great order under heaven.”

Will the West Be Lost?

No one could have imagined that we would so quickly squander the West’s mighty strategic victory in the Cold War.

In an apparently predestined and inevitable manner, as occurs when there is weak international leadership, the United States and China are drifting into a state of prickly antagonism.

During the election, Joe Biden said the Chinese were not a threat to the United States and he has still only half-heartedly acknowledged a serious rivalry between the two countries. There is plenty of evidence that the new administration has made such a poor impression in Beijing that President Xi Jinping has concluded now is the time for China to humiliate and displace the United States—a conclusion he was certainly deterred from adopting during the Trump years.
