NDP and Green MPs to Speak at Event Calling for Release of Meng Wanzhou

An NDP MP and a Green MP are scheduled to speak at an event calling for the release of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou, with a notice about the event from one of the hosts saying the Canadian government has “unjustly incarcerated” her.

NDP MP Niki Ashton and Green Party MP Paul Manly are scheduled to speak in an online panel on Nov. 24 to call for the release of Meng while urging the public to support their cause.

Canada has turned back only 4,400 so called asylum seekers in 5 years – usual suspects still whining

Canada has turned away at least 4,400 asylum seekers at the U.S. border since 2016 — including some who were hoping to find refuge here at the height of the global pandemic — according to newly released government figures.

Nearly half of those trying to enter Canada over that five-year period made the attempt in the year after U.S. President Donald Trump took office, according to figures released in response to a parliamentary request from NDP MP Jenny Kwan.

Under the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA), which has been in effect since 2004, Canada and the U.S. consider each other to be “safe countries” for refugees and require them to make their claims in the country they arrive in first.

Lawmakers, Experts Warned of Election Vulnerabilities Years Ago

Lawmakers, Experts Warned of Election Vulnerabilities Years Ago

Lawmakers, cybersecurity officials, and expert panelists warned the public years ago of the vulnerabilities of America’s election infrastructure, as well as threats of foreign and domestic interference in U.S. elections.

In December 2019, Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), and Rep. Mark Pocan (D-Wis.), raised concerns about the poor condition and vulnerabilities of voting machines and other election equipment, as well as a lack of transparency, in letters sent to three private equity firms: McCarthy Group, Staple Street Capital Group, and H.I.G. Capital.

Bill Gates Smears Parler and its Users

Social(ist) Media finally has a serious competitor, and leftists are having a tantrum.

Here’s the latest endorsement for Parler:

“If somebody goes to Parler, they are saying, “I like crazy stuff.” -Bill Gates

Bad enough that leftists like Gates are all for banning those they disagree with, but now they’re targeting a platform that is the first truly viable alternative to the mess that Facebook and Twitter have made of themselves, for not being ban crazy.

A Time of Chaos Upon Chaos Atop Chaos

There is a series of battles to come in January 2021, in 2022, and in 2024 that will be definitive, if the chaos of 2020 does not become even more chaotic.

America will weather its current hysterias.

But the tensions and furor are reminiscent of the last generations of the Roman Republic. In its last century, Romans began to adjudicate politics by obsequious partisan town criers (their version of our media), mass demonstrations, and freelance street gangs. Looters, arsonists, and demonstrators did pretty much as they pleased in the streets of Rome without fear of legal consequences.

In our time, the media has now vanished—kaput, no more, ended.

In America’s whitest city, Black activists struggle to separate themselves from anarchists

In America’s whitest city, Black activists struggle to separate themselves from anarchists

…This week marks six months since Floyd’s death, and protests continue in Portland. But now, activists in the city are divided as to whether they are still fighting in a racial justice movement centered on Black lives, or if an unfocused, anti-establishment fight against capitalism and state power has usurped the initial cause that brought thousands of Portlanders into the streets.

Instead of mass mobilizations focused on disrupting city streets and educating the public, recent protests draw a few dozen people who have regularly engaged in vandalism against such disparate targets as a Democratic Party office, the Oregon Historical Society and the Mexican consulate.

Their most recent action: a Friday protest that ended in vandalism to 27 businesses in the city, ranging from a smoke shop and food carts to a bank branch and an insurance company.

Georgetown Features Academic Who Likens Austrian Counter-Terror Measures to Kristallnacht

In the wake of the recent jihad attack in Vienna, Austrian authorities are cracking down on Muslim organizations that have been discovered to be exhorting or approving of jihad terror activity – and Georgetown University’s Hamas-linked Bridge Initiative is not happy. On Thursday, it published a weepy self-pitying piece entitled “Xinjiang and Kristallnacht in Austria: Freedom of Religion Under Threat” by Farid Hafez, a political scientist in Austria who sees in Austria’s counterterror measures nothing less than a new Holocaust on the horizon. Of course! Why else would anyone oppose jihad violence, other than out of a desire to perpetrate genocide? This is what passes for academic discourse at Georgetown these days.

These Three States Can Stop the Steal – Will the GOP legislatures of GA, PA, and MI have the courage to end this travesty?

These Three States Can Stop the Steal – Will the GOP legislatures of GA, PA, and MI have the courage to end this travesty?

It could hardly be more obvious that the Democrats approached the 2020 election willing to do anything, from illegally altering state election laws to committing brazen ballot fraud, in the cause of defeating President Trump. It’s equally clear that the “news” media are abetting this travesty by studiously ignoring credible evidence while anointing Joe Biden “President-elect.” This corrupt contingency is precisely why the framers created the Electoral College. No one becomes “President-elect” until the members of that body meet in their respective states to cast their ballots. Who selects the Electors?

Cooperate with China or World War 3: Kissinger

“I would think we need first of all a dialogue with the Chinese leadership in which we are defining what we’re attempting to prevent and in which the two leaders agree that whatever other conflicts they have they will not resort to military conflict,” Henry Kissinger told Bloomberg News Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait on November 16 at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum. “Unless there is some basis for some cooperative action, the world will slide into a catastrophe comparable to World War I.”

Of course no one wants war of any type with China, but in a little over 14 minutes Kissinger managed to totally misinterpret Chinese history, support Beijing’s most important foreign policy goal, and give deeply misguided advice to Joe Biden. Kissinger has evidently learned nothing from years of dangerous Chinese behavior, which is partly the result of his policy formulations.
