Medical schools in Ontario didn’t want her. So this aspiring family doctor is training in the U.S.

… Western University’s Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry admits 171 students to its MD program each year: 133 in London and 38 at its Windsor campus.

“Significant changes to the medical school admissions process have taken place over the last several years,” said Western University spokesperson Crystal Mackay, “specifically focused on mitigating barriers for underrepresented populations within medicine, such as those who self-identify as racialized, those from low socioeconomic backgrounds and those from rural or remote areas.”

Another great idea.

Harris slammed for laughing after question about Ukrainian refugees

Vice President Kamala Harris has been criticized for breaking into laughter Thursday after she was asked whether the US will take in Ukrainian refugees.

The awkward moment took place during a joint press conference with Poland President Andrzej Duda in Warsaw.

The two leaders had been asked similar questions about the US accepting Ukrainian refugees or otherwise easing pressure on Poland’s strained humanitarian resources.

Junior giggling like a school girl.

Will We Ever Eradicate the Cancer of Identity Politics?

On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court finally granted a writ of certiorari in two now-consolidated affirmative action cases, Students for Fair Admissions v. Harvard College and Students for Fair Admissions v. University of North Carolina.

The cases will be jointly argued during the next Supreme Court term, and they place directly in their crosshairs the court’s noxious precedents in the thorny area of race-conscious university admission policies.

As presented to the court, the leading question the justices will consider is “whether the Supreme Court should … hold that institutions of higher education cannot use race as a factor in admissions.”

An Affirmative Action Endgame?

The Supreme Court has a chance to end racial discrimination in university admissions.

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear two cases challenging racial preferences in university admissions. It’s an important move that could pave the way toward restoring the equality principles that our Constitution and laws afford. The Court granted petitions for writs of certiorari in lawsuits brought by the nonprofit Students for Fair Admissions against Harvard University and the University of North Carolina and consolidated the cases into one.

Genocide – it’s the new “racist”

Genocide – it’s the new “racist”

Toronto’s first sovereign, Indigenous-owned cannabis shop aims to fight ‘economic genocide’ and is operating without provincial licensing

Mississaugas of the Credit Medicine Wheel, an Indigenous-owned and operated cannabis store, is more than just a dispensary: it’s an attempt to fight back against “economic genocide,” its owner and operator said.

The store, operated by Ken Hughes of Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, is sovereign, meaning it’s operating outside of the scope of Ontario’s cannabis regulations and without a license — marking the first time a sovereign cannabis store has opened in Toronto.

While Medicine Wheel appears to be Toronto’s first, it isn’t the only sovereign cannabis dispensary in Canada. A map of similar stores compiled by the website Dispensing Freedom shows more than 250 sovereign shops operating coast-to-coast.

House Votes To Make Your Daughters Eligible for the Military Draft

… Amazingly if not quite surprisingly, the effective doubling of the federal government’s claim on the lives of American 18-year-olds was never submitted to a standalone vote on the House floor, because Democratic leadership refused to allow it. The Senate’s version of the NDAA, which is expected to be voted on next month, already includes mandatory draft registration for women. So unless that changes in the amendment process, potential lady-conscription will be sitting on the desk of a willing Biden this fall.

Ontario teacher candidates say they’ve been left behind by new mandatory math test

Passing the Mathematics Proficiency Test (MPT) is now required to become a certified Ontario teacher, but some teacher candidates say trying to get an appointment — and make sure they’re ready for the exam — is causing them a lot of stress.

“If I don’t pass and I don’t get another opportunity, I lose my licence,” said Kayleigh Lajeunesse, who finished teachers college last year.

“I always wanted to be a teacher, and I feel like this test doesn’t reflect who I am as a teacher.”

California Now Officially Handing Out Senate Seats Based on Race

The great debate over replacing Kamala Harris wasn’t about qualifications. What qualifications? California Democrats are qualified for little except virtue signaling and racial quotas. And so the debate came down to whether Governor Newsom would replace Kamala Harris, who is half-Jamaican and half-Indian, with a black woman (the assumption was that another half-Indian and half-Jamaican wasn’t an option) or a Latino.

Khan went on to claim that “inequality costs people’s futures & the economy billions,” but reassured voters that “we’re working on fixing it.”

‘Get right before you get left, boomer’: Marines backtrack after jumping into Fox host Tucker Carlson’s row with Pentagon

The US Marine Corps is adjusting its aim after facing public backlash over suggesting that men critical of the Pentagon’s mission creep towards wokeness should serve, get pregnant, and only then speak on the issue.

“What it looks like in today’s armed forces [Tucker Carlson], Get right before you get left, boomer,” the Marines tweeted on Friday, accompanying the tweet with an image of a smiling female officer carrying a fellow officer.

The destruction of society’s institutions on the parade ground.
