The city will pay a total $2.1 million to three white Department of Education executives demoted under ex-Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza and replaced by less-qualified people of color, they charged.
Lois Herrera, Jaye Murray and Laura Feijoo – who will receive $700,000 each – reached a settlement three months after a judge ruled they “offer evidence of race-based discrimination in Carranza’s DOE,” paving the way for a June trial.
“This landmark case is a resounding affirmation that discrimination of any form should not be tolerated in educational institutions, regardless of the race of those negatively impacted,” their lawyer Davida Perry told The Post.
This type of case is beginning to blossom.

Black Creek Pioneer Village to drop ‘pioneer’ from its name as part of inclusivity plan
Black Creek Pioneer Village is getting a new name later this year along with longer-term plans to give a permanent home to an Indigenous exhibit.
As part of its ongoing work to tell more accurate stories about settlement in 19th-century Ontario, the Village has been collaborating with five southern Ontario First Nations to recraft the stories at the museum — and its next phase includes dropping “pioneer” from its name.
“I look at our society as a piece of fabric: it’s got different threads woven through it,” said Wendy Rowney, general manager at the Village. “What museums should do is make sure all those threads are visible again.”

By extension, the French president presumably thinks the same of the 13,288,686 million men and women who voted for Le Pen in the second round of the 2022 presidential election. In the event of a war with Russia, or another hostile state, would the president therefore consider Le Pen voters unworthy of serving in the Republic’s military?
The average Le Pen supporter has much in common with Britain’s Red Wall voter; they tend not to have gone to university, to have been hit hard by deindustrialisation and to be opposed to political correctness and uncontrolled immigration. They are ‘Somewheres’, men and women who have strong roots in their community and are socially conservative.

But in a painfully obtuse article this week, the New York Times columnist found nothing remarkable about the obvious racial pattern among a raft of women randomly sucker-punched by men on the streets of her own city. Namely, that the assailants are all black.
