Around 27 million residents, roughly two-thirds of the state’s population, received the message urging people to stay inside except for essential activities, according to CNN. Newsom on Thursday issued a mandate which shutters businesses and creates a mandatory stay-at-home order for localities where intensive care unit capacity drops below 15%, the New York Times reported.
The lawsuit, which was filed by the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF), names Heights Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church as the two applicants. The churches are located in Medicine Hat and Calgary, respectively.
According to the JCCF, the government violated the following rights of churchgoers by implementing coronavirus-related lockdown orders: the right to peaceful assembly, the right to travel, the right to conduct a business to earn a living, the right to visit family and friends and the right to peaceful assembly.
The president of travel company Acendas, Brent Blake, told Fox 4 News that “Traveler safety, to me, is top-of-the-line for everybody. And in order to do that, there’s going to be some requirements to be able to travel.”

This week, the U.S. Department of Defense unveiled the very first images of the “COVID-19 vaccination record cards” that will be given to every person that gets one of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Now that such a record is going to be available, it is probably inevitable that some schools, businesses and government entities will want to starting requiring people to provide “proof of vaccination”.
On Wednesday the Department of Defense released the first images of a Covid vaccination record card as well as vaccination kits. “Everyone will be issued a written card that they can put in their wallet that will tell them what they had and when their next dose is due,” says Dr. Kelly Moore, associate director of the Immunization Action Coalition. “Let’s do the simple, easy thing first. Everyone’s going to get that.”
