The ticking border time bomb: 1,000 migrants in the largest caravan in HISTORY crosses the Rio Grande into El Paso

Possibly the largest single group of migrants illegally crossed into the U.S. Sunday night as Border Patrol braces for increased activity along the border with just nine days left until Title 42 ends.

A group of 1,000 migrants, mostly from Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua, crossed the Rio Grande from Mexico into El Paso, Texas over the weekend.

At least hundreds of the illegal border hoppers were released onto the streets of U.S. cities.

Outgoing Arizona governor builds ‘wall’ of shipping containers on Mexico border

Arizona’s outgoing Republican governor erected a three-mile barrier of shipping containers on the Mexico-US border in his final days in office before handing power to a Democrat.

Topped with barbed wire, the edifice is intended to fill gaps in Donald Trump’s much-vaunted but never completed border wall.

Doug Ducey, who is due to be replaced as governor by Democrat Katie Hobbs, has announced plans to spend $95 million (£78 million) on a 10-mile barrier before he leaves office.

Can’t say that I blame them for wanting to get out of war torn Canada.

Poll: Only 13% of French Think Migrants Represent an ‘Opportunity’ for the Country

A new opinion survey has revealed that just over 1 in 10 French citizens believe that migrants represent an “opportunity” for the country, while nearly 4 in 10 consider migration a “threat” to the nation.

The poll, carried out by the Consumer Science & Analytics (CSA) Institute for French news outlet CNEWS, was published on Thursday, November 17th, and showed that 38% of the French public regard migrants as a “threat,” while 13% see them as an “opportunity,” and 48% believe that they are neither, Valeurs Actuelles reports.

The polling data comes as the arrival of the Ocean Viking, an NGO migrant transport ship to the port of Toulon, has rekindled the heated debate over migration, which like elsewhere in the world remains a highly charged and divisive issue.

Italy Forces Muslim Migrant Ship To Go To France

An update to the story that The Point discussed here.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni vowed to resist mass migration. The low bar at stake here is the migrant smuggling operation in which NGOs pick up mostly Muslim migrants and “rescue them” by transporting them to Italy.

The new Italian government lightly put its foot down and refused to let the male migrants leave the smuggling ships and enter Italy.

Schools ‘run out of places for local children after migrant surge’

Schools have run out of places for local children in entire year groups owing to the influx of migrants, councils and MPs have warned.

Families in Kent have been told there are no school places for 11 and 13-year-olds in Canterbury and Ashford because of the “unexpected” and “unplanned” arrival of migrant children in the two areas.

The council is having to pay to bus children who have missed out on places to other towns up to 25 miles away because of the shortage of places.

Armed detainees riot at immigration centre after power outage leaves them without heating

Riot police confronted armed immigration centre detainees who caused a disturbance after a power cut at Europe’s largest detention centre left them without heating.

Dozens of men held at the Colnbrook Immigration Removal Centre, near Heathrow Airport, left their rooms after the lights and heating went out following a power outage in the wider area.

The disturbance is understood to have broken out as the centre’s occupants were being transferred to three other centres on Saturday following the overnight loss of electricity

Dover migrant centre attack driven by right-wing ideology – police

The firebombing of an immigration processing centre was motivated by extreme right-wing terrorist ideology, police have said.

Andrew Leak, 66, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, threw up to three incendiary devices at the site in Dover, Kent, last Sunday.

He is believed to have later taken his own life.

Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTPSE) said evidence showed it “was motivated by a terrorist ideology”.

The number of Mexican asylum seekers in Canada has increased dramatically

MONTREAL – Canada has seen a spike in the number of Mexicans seeking asylum here this year, with the vast majority of them coming to Montreal. They say they are fleeing Mexico in search of jobs and safety, but statistics show most applicants from the country are rejected.

Ricardo Santos, 28, arrived at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport on Oct. 4. He says that although he did not know much about Canada, there was a direct flight to Montreal from Mexico City.

“I left because there is no work and there is a lot of violence,” Santos said in a recent interview outside a downtown YMCA, where he was staying while his refugee application was processed. “Mexico is becoming a more dangerous country.”

Ottawa urged to welcome 10,000 Uyghurs who have fled China

OTTAWA — MPs and advocates are calling on the federal government to resettle in Canada 10,000 Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims who have fled China.

But experts warn that could create diplomatic challenges for Canada, as Beijing puts political and economic pressure on Chinese investment in the countries where Uyghurs have been forced to flee.

Sameer Zuberi, a Liberal MP and chair of Parliament’s foreign affairs subcommittee on international human rights, called last Tuesday for debate on motion M62, introduced in February 2021, which proposes recognizing China’s treatment of the Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims as genocide. The proposal also called on Canada to offer 10,000 Uyghurs and other Turkic Muslims refugee status starting in 2024, based on the risk that the host countries could detain and deport them to China.

No. Canada is full.

We don’t need to import any more foreign race wars.

Diwali riots and Khalistan rallies anyone? Al Quds Day? Chinese police stations in Canadian cities? More Laith Maroufs on the public payroll? How about welcoming home a few more psychopathic ISIS brides?

Muslim nations need to step up for the Uyghurs.

Canadian citizens cannot continue to be used as the world’s doormat.

Illegal border crossings to US from Mexico hit annual high

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A surge in migration from Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua in September brought the number of illegal crossings to the highest level ever recorded in a fiscal year, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

The year-end numbers reflect deteriorating economic and political conditions in some countries, the relative strength of the U.S. economy and uneven enforcement of Trump-era asylum restrictions.

Migrants were stopped 227,547 times in September at the U.S. border with Mexico, the third-highest month of Joe Biden’s presidency. It was up 11.5% from 204,087 times in August and 18.5% from 192,001 times in September 2021.

Why did Sweden turn Right-wing?

Swedish politics’ Rightward shift has dented the country’s image as the spiritual home of the liberal Left. Indeed, such was the success Sweden’s Right-wing coalition that the New York Times proclaimed that ‘Sweden is becoming unbearable’ on the day of the election.

Much of this nervousness can be put down to the growing influence of the anti-immigration Sweden Democrats. While not directly in power, the party’s political support for the Right-wing coalition means that they can exert pressure on their more moderate counterparts to reconsider Sweden’s experiment in mass immigration.

Canadian court weighs whether U.S. is “safe” for migrants

The Canadian Supreme Court is hearing an unusual case this month. A group of immigration activists are asking the court to rule that the United States can not be considered a “safe third country” for the purposes of the Safe Third Country Agreement (STCA) enacted between the two countries nearly two decades ago. In essence, the plaintiffs are asking the court to strike down the STCA.
