Danielle Smith unveils sovereignty act in attempt to shield Alberta from federal laws

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has introduced her highly anticipated sovereignty act, which would allow cabinet to direct cities, police, health authorities, universities and other entities to ignore federal laws that the government believes are unconstitutional or harmful to the province.

The bill, formally known as the Alberta Sovereignty Within a United Canada Act, was a central promise of Ms. Smith’s successful United Conservative Party leadership campaign, which focused on escalating the province’s fight with Ottawa on a range of issues from environmental protection to gun control. Legal scholars previously panned the idea as unconstitutional and it has been divisive even within the UCP, with former premier Jason Kenney and most of Ms. Smith’s leadership rivals condemning it during the campaign.

Canada won’t compromise values in relations with China, says foreign minister

Canada will work with China when needed – but challenge it when necessary, the country’s foreign minister said, as the two nations prepare to co-host a major environmental summit despite years of diplomatic tensions.

Speaking to the Guardian after her government released its long-awaited “Indo-Pacific Strategy”, Mélanie Joly said that Canada will “promote and defend” its national interests in a region where nations are jockeying for influence and power.

“We’re a Pacific nation and what happens there matters for Canada. The future of the Indo-Pacific is linked to ours,” she said.

In other words we’ll take our cues from Canada’s China class.

A Lament for a Nation, or Bye-Bye Miss Canadian Pie

It is very hard to maintain one’s composure when speaking to ordinary Canadians about the disaster in the making that is Canada today. I have engaged personally and via email over the last two years with literally hundreds of my fellow countrymen from all walks of life on the subjects of the national debt, the deficit, the sunsetting of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, the draconian and illegal Covid and vaccine mandates and the turbo maladies that flow from them, the various repressive bills sieving through Parliament, the vicious and lying government and media campaign against the Trucker Freedom Convoy, and the unconscionable behavior of the most vindictiveincompetent and unpatriotic prime minister in the history of Confederation.

RCMP investigating Chinese interference in Canadian affairs, Commissioner says … Nudge, Nudge, Wink, Wink

The RCMP is investigating broad foreign interference by China in Canadian affairs, says Commissioner Brenda Lucki, but she declined to detail precisely what type of activities are being probed by the federal police force.

In a letter sent on Monday to a House of Commons committee studying possible Beijing interference in the 2019 general election, Commissioner Lucki said Mounties lacked evidence of wrongdoing in that vote but they are looking at wider interference by China, including “interference in democratic processes” in Canada.

Bullshit. The LPC and Canada’s China class won’t allow it.

Promoting Social Justice, Climate Change Cooperation in Indo-Pacific Does Nothing to Deter China

The Trudeau administration finally produced its vaunted “Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy” and it wasn’t worth the wait. To be fair, it’s not easy to write national strategy documents that are both vague and trite. But if you’re going to try, especially because you’re strongly suspected of having no strategy and no clue, you need to create something muscular.

India’s envoy calls on Canada to crack down on Canadian funding of Khalistan separatist movement

Ottawa can help repair frosty relations with New Delhi by cracking down on diasporic funding of the Sikh independence movement that is seeking to create a sovereign homeland known as Khalistan, India’s new envoy to Canada says.

Sanjay Kumar Verma told The Globe and Mail that India has long been concerned that some segments of the Sikh community in Canada are offering support and money to secessionists who want to separate Punjab from India. Punjab is an Indian state where the Sikh religion is the majority.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is listed terrorist group ‘by association,’ Canadian court rules

Qasem Soleimani memorial Toronto

A judge has ruled that Iran’s Revolutionary Guard is a “terrorist entity” under Canadian law, adding fuel to the debate over how to deal with the branch of Tehran’s armed forces.

The Ontario Superior Court found the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was “a listed entity” because one of its branches, the Qods Force, was already designated as such by Canada.

Why bother when our government lets them in wholesale?

How the American anti-LGBTQ hate machine is posing a threat to Canadians

Seth Compton woke early one morning in July to his phone buzzing furiously with new messages. A wave of hate, stirred up far away, was starting to crash down on the LGBTQ youth centre he runs in North Bay, Ont.

A flyer for an upcoming drag show at the centre had been posted by Libs of Tik Tok, a homophobic and transphobic Twitter account that has around 1.5 million followers and is reportedly run by a New York real estate agent.

For more than a week afterward, OutLoud North Bay — one of the few dedicated spaces for LGBTQ youth in northern Ontario — received thousands of death threats and other hateful comments spawned from that initial post on Twitter, Compton said.

Libs of TikTok merely re-posts what the multilettered madhouse posts itself.

Support for Communist Chinese Spy at Hydro-Québec Shows Need for Foreign Influence Registry: Senator

An RCMP spokesperson told The Epoch Times that the 35-year-old resident of Candiac, Quebec, a researcher, is the first person in Canada to be charged with economic espionage under the Security of Information Act.

But Housakos expressed concern about the attendance of a representative of a group called the Canada-China Friendship Promotion Association (CCFPA) at the Nov. 15 hearing, and her claim that the proceedings are likely to cause discrimination against the Chinese community in Canada, as reported by CBC News.

“We have to fight that. It is discrimination,” said Tina Zhu. “We are human beings, we are the same.”

“We are human beings, we are the same.” – Fuck You Commie Bitch

This rot started at the top with Trudeau eagerly licking Xi’s arse.

Sabrina Maddeaux: Our ‘dysfunctional’ Access to Information system is feeding Canadians’ distrust

Canada has a trust problem, and it’s not one we can afford to overlook. While, for some, “trust” means little more than some vague feel-good vibes, it’s actually a foundation of any functioning society.

When trust begins to erode, it’s very difficult to stop the spread. Distrust may begin with one institution or political party, but it almost inevitably begins to consume others. It eventually reaches outside the political realm, affecting neighbours and communities. Recent polls show only one-third of Canadians believe most people can be trusted.

I don’t trust this article. At no point is the balkanization of Canadian society from mass immigration mentioned.
