Most of the people who died from COVID-19 in Canada were over the age of 85 and had dementia, Alzheimer’s, chronic heart disease and other pre-existing “cardiovascular and respiratory conditions,” according to a shocking new report from the federal government.
An Iranian intelligence officer and three alleged members of an Iranian intelligence network have been charged in Manhattan with plotting to lure a U.S.-based journalist and human rights activist from New York to Iran, authorities said Tuesday.
An indictment in Manhattan federal court alleges that the plot was part of a wider plan to lure three individuals in Canada and a fifth person in the United Kingdom to Iran. Victims were also targeted in the United Arab Emirates, authorities said.
Iran’s mission to the United Nations did not immediately respond to a request for comment. State media in Tehran did not immediately acknowledge the alleged plot, though Iran has become more aggressive in recent years about seizing opposition journalists and dissidents abroad amid tensions over its tattered nuclear deal.
Reports from Cuba indicate that more than 100 people have been arrested or are reported missing after the communist government cracked down on the largest protests in decades. Journalists are also being arrested, including ABC’s Camila Acosta.

Video has emerged that purports to show the moment 22 Afghan commandos were massacred by the Taliban moments after they surrendered.
The footage appears to have been taken in Dawlat Abad, in northern Faryab province, on June 16 following a major battle between the Taliban and Afghan forces.
The government had sent an elite team of US-trained commandos – including the son of a retired general – into the town to recapture it, but they quickly became surrounded with air support and reinforcements failing to materialise.

That’s quite a powerful block at a time when western nations seem intent on killing this vital resource.” It’s interesting that a similar price shock occurred in 1979, as the Iranian Revolution and the subsequent Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988) restricted the supply of oil from Iran and once again created a shortage in global supply and doubled oil prices…”
