Idiot housing minister doubles down on mass immigration

Canada’s new housing and infrastructure minister says closing the door to newcomers is not the solution to the country’s housing woes, and has instead endorsed building more homes to accommodate higher immigration flows.

Sean Fraser, who previously served as immigration minister, was sworn in Wednesday morning as part of a Liberal government cabinet shuffle aimed at showcasing a fresh team ahead of the next federal election.

Strong population growth through immigration is adding pressure to housing demand at a time when the country is struggling with an affordability crisis.

Canada’s home building capacity is at it’s limit and no you aren’t going to find enough carpenters to import.

There is no way enough new homes can be built to ward off the coming catastrophe.

The crisis in housing affordabily will have severe and lasting consequences for many families and singles not to mention seniors on fixed incomes.

This assault on our economic security will only get worse and tragically none of it had to happen.

Was there no one in Ottawa able to point out to the idiots that mass immigration is a primary cause of the housing shortage?

That mass immigration is not a magic pill able to solve all problems?

I am convinced they want the homeless crisis.

Changing cabinet faces won’t improve Canada’s poor economic performance

This morning, to much fanfare, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shuffled his cabinet. But while the shuffle might create a temporary distraction from negative economic news, absent real policy reform no superficial moves will reverse Canada’s full-blown economic growth crisis.

Consider that Canada is one of the only high-income countries yet to rebound economically from the COVID recession. Adjusted for inflation, average income per person was $55,677 in the first three months of this year compared with $56,183 at the end of 2019. We’re poorer today than we were 40 months ago despite the avalanche of federal government spending and borrowing.

TD report predicts increased economic hardship due to Trudeau government’s mass immigration scam

If Canada’s population boom continues at its current frantic pace, interest rates will face upward pressure and the massive influx of people will significantly worsen affordability for homebuyers and renters, a new report from TD Bank warns.

And the bank’s economists are calling on the federal government to restore “balance” to its immigration policies.

That rapid growth has helped employers fill job openings and propelled Canada to become the fastest growing economy in the G7, but it is also causing “dislocations in other segments of the economy,” including the housing market, health care, social services and infrastructure, that threaten to undo the benefits, the report’s authors warn.

It’s pretty bad when even the porkers of Canada’s corporate class are saying STOP.

People can’t afford rent never mind even dream of owning a home but Trudeau always has money for Corpoarate welfare cases if it “advances” his green-scam.

Guilbeault shows disdain for Alberta with new rules to end fossil fuel subsidies

The new Trudeau government rules to end fossil fuel subsidies, introduced by federal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault on Monday, are proof positive that Liberals government policy is being written by eco-extremists in caucus, the bureaucracy and the environmental movement.

The definition of what constitutes fossil-fuel subsidies is so severe, so radical that it would be laughable were it not so dangerous to the country’s economy and to national unity.

John Robson: Ottawa’s Neglect of RCMP and Armed Forces a Case of Bad Policy Driving Out Good

Once upon a time bell-bottoms, mullets, and “Gestalt” theory were trendy. Until someone realized two fashion blunders didn’t cancel out and people had always seen patterns. Like this one where the RCMP is desperately understaffed.

As the National Post reported, “The force provides police to provinces across the country, but it is missing [recruiting] targets in every region, with vacancy rates up to 17%.” You might say it’s not a pattern, even with the Armed Forces also officially short some 16,000 members, probably far more. It’s just as ugly as the purple jumpsuit Burt Reynolds wore on the “Tonight Show” in 1973 that the state cannot protect us from internal or external threats, its most basic duty.

How an ex-Mountie accused of conspiracy became China’s ‘hired gun’ in a campaign Canada once tacitly supported

As an RCMP officer, William Majcher, 60, used fake identities to infiltrate organized crime groups to investigate money laundering. He even went undercover to help the FBI to build a case against a Colombian drug cartel, knowing that if he was outed, a bounty would be put on his head.

After leaving the national police force in 2007, Majcher moved to Hong Kong, where he helped create a firm called Evaluate Monitor Investigate Deter Recover (EMIDR) in 2016. The company’s raison d’etre was to help China and its corporations recover assets it alleged were stolen, Majcher said in previous interviews.

Military considered delaying WW2 vets to fly Trudeau home after his plane was damaged

OTTAWA — When engine damage to his plane was set to strand Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in London, the military, with few planes to spare, was forced to consider pulling aircraft from military exercises and even the “unpalatable” option of delaying a group of Second World War veterans to bring him home.

They should have made him walk.

‘Very concerning’: Canada’s standard of living is lagging behind its peers, report finds. What can be done?

… Hejazi, who recently wrote a book about Canada’s slouching prosperity, agreed and added that government protectionism of the country’s biggest industries is another leading factor: “Companies are only as productive as they need to be,” he said — by shutting down competition, Canada is “killing innovation” as companies grow complacent.

“If you look at the three major industries in Canada: Telecom, air transportation and finance — I can go further and say dairy and even grocery — all of these industries are extensively protected from competition,” Hejazi said. As a result, these companies “don’t need to move the needle” in order to pull in profits.

AND THEY’RE OFF! Bennet, Jaczek, Alghabra & Murray first rats out

Federal ministers Jaczek, Alghabra not running in next election, opening up spots in cabinet

About a half-dozen ministers will no longer sit at the cabinet table after Wednesday, when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to announce a substantial shakeup of his front bench, sources tell CBC News.

Senior government sources say a cohort of rookies will be sworn in as new cabinet ministers during a ceremony at Rideau Hall.

Three Toronto-area Liberal ministers have already either announced, or are expected to announce, that they are not running in the next federal election, opening up spots at the table.

Is their departure a sign of guilt for the damage they’ve done to ordinary Canadians?

Doubtful. They’ve clocked enough time to cash out with Golden Parachutes we poor schmucks can only dream of.

It’s a situation made worse knowing that our money will feed and house them in a style an increasing number of Canadians will never know thanks to the ruinous policies they supported.

Will Trudeau’s cabinet shuffle drop dead wood for fresh faces?

Depending on your viewpoint, the Trudeau government cabinet shuffle this Wednesday will either be a refresh for the government or the political equivalent of shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic. Either way, it will be a different set of ministers and different set of portfolios by lunchtime Wednesday.

They’re all deadwood and this smells of crushing dissent in the ranks. I suspect Junior has entered his Captain Queeg phase.

Multiple ministers being dropped from cabinet in upcoming shuffle, sources say

Multiple ministers are being dropped from federal cabinet in a shuffle expected to take place Wednesday, sources tell CBC News.

Those senior government sources say the shuffle is intended to put the focus on the government’s economic priorities and shore up the cabinet ahead of the next federal election campaign. The government also wants to put key communicators on important files.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has called ministers back to Ottawa for meetings on Monday and Tuesday, said sources with knowledge of the shuffle who are not authorized to speak publicly.

Assuming a few relatively sane liberals exist then this may signal Junior’s effort to clean house of dissenters.

Canada pledged to spend 2% of GDP on its military. Would that transform it? Is it affordable?

For years, Canada and other NATO member countries have faced criticism for falling short of allocating two per cent of their GDP on military spending, a target set in 2014 by the military alliance.

Canada was among the allies who signed on in 2014 to aspire toward that target but has consistently failed to reach it.

However, earlier this month, NATO member leaders pledged to boost spending on national defence, agreeing to make the existing target of two per cent of GDP the minimum spent each year, with one-fifth of that going toward major equipment and research and development.

The Liberals have no intention of being a good ally – Trudeau told NATO that Canada will never meet spending goal, Discord leak shows

China’s Spying in Canada Soars to New Heights

If there is one thing we as Canadians have heard an awful lot about of late it is what has been termed “foreign interference.” This refers to efforts by foreign states to identify those in our land and use them to advance their own interests, or stifle any activity deemed not in those interests. And while several nations have been highlighted as behind this kind of effort, of late the number one country by far is the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
