I was misunderstood says race baiting Trudeau lickspittle

Stephen Maher: How the racial makeup of Poilievre rallies could be used against him

Last week, when Pierre Poilievre held a huge rally in a show-jumping facility on Calgary’s southern edge, I observed on Twitter that the enthusiastic crowd seemed to be mostly made up of white people, which might pose a problem for Poilievre.

This tweet — part of a long, not very interesting thread about Poilievre’s event — struck some people the wrong way, and I have since then been denounced hundreds of times, most recently in the National Post earlier this week by columnist Rupa Subramanya, who implied my comment constitutes a racist attack on Poilievre and his supporters.

Carson Jerema: Inflation and the official Liberal plan to make life more expensive

The Trudeau government’s policies and a timid Bank of Canada helped create the increasingly unaffordable world Canadians now live in

Don’t worry, it will get worse. Inflation soared 6.7 per cent in March, the highest in 30 years, and driven by a 40 per cent increase in gas prices year over year. This was, of course, before the federal carbon tax increased at the beginning of the month. Higher energy prices don’t just affect the cost of transportation, they contribute to inflated prices in every sector of the economy. Higher gas bills, which the Liberal government aims to be a permanent feature of Canadian life, means higher prices for food, clothing and anything moved by truck.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau electricity plan could lead to blackouts, soaring bills

Electricity has been the most successful sector of the Canadian economy in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, albeit at an enormous cost to provincial taxpayers and hydro ratepayers.

But a new plan by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government to achieve net zero emissions by 2035 could lead to blackouts, brownouts, soaring electricity bills and massive new debt.

Civil liberties groups demand inquiry into Trudeau’s use of emergency powers against Freedom Convoy

A group of 15 civil liberties organizations demanded an open “public” independent inquiry be held to scrutinize Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shutting down the trucker Freedom Convoy though the use of the Emergencies Act (EA).

As reported by Blacklock’s Reporter, late last week the civil liberties organizations argued together in a joint petition that it is concerned about “the use of state and police powers to suppress constitutional rights.”

A new newsletter! And a $15 billion mystery

After all the dust settled from Chrystia Freeland’s latest federal budget, I still had questions about the Canada Growth Fund.

Described (on Page 60 of the budget document) as a means “to attract substantial private sector investment” to “help meet important national economic policy goals,” the Canada Growth Fund was announced as something that would be “initially capitalized at $15 billion over the next five years.”

Fifteen billion is big. The budget’s entire chapter on housing, for instance, allocates a total of $10.1 billion in new spending over five years. The military gets a total of $9.4 billion in new spending. Health care, $7.1 billion. But the Canada Growth Fund (let’s just call it the Fund) is bigger than all of those. And for each dollar of the $15 billion it will spend, it will “aim to attract at least three dollars of private capital.”

Chinese Firm to Acquire 13 Percent of Canadian Lithium Company for $5 Million

A Chinese firm that specializes in industrial explosives is planning to acquire a more than 10 percent stake in a Canadian lithium company for $5 million.

On April 17, China-based company Sichuan Yahua Industrial Group Co. Ltd. (Yahua Group) announced its plan to acquire 13.2 percent of Ultra Lithium Inc., a Vancouver-based lithium and gold exploration firm, through its wholly-owned subsidiary Yahua International Investment and Development Co. Ltd.

The deal signed between the two companies will also see Yahua International acquiring a 60 percent stake in a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ultra Lithium that has two lithium mining projects in Ontario, at Forgan Lake and Georgia Lake.

This ought to go over well with the Biden admin and their secure sourcing initiatives.

Global Affairs expert floats “Russia anti-vaxxer troll farm” scare story to justify Trudeau regime internet censorship – media dutifully laps it up

Russian troll farms aiming disinformation war at Canadian anti-vaxxers: Global Affairs expert

Russian-sponsored disinformation is trying to exploit one of Canada’s most divisive issues to shape opinions here about its invasion of Ukraine, says a top Global Affairs Canada expert on the topic.

Using troll farms that post on Facebook and other social media sites, the campaigns often target the minority of Canadians opposed to COVID-19 vaccines and vaccine mandates, and others deeply distrustful of government, said Philippe-André Rodriguez, deputy director of the department’s Centre for International Digital Policy.

Here’s the kicker… Rodriguez also said Russian disinformation is being amplified by social media sites’ algorithms, which may require some kind of government intervention to counter.

This is the same government that had its CBC propaganda mouthpiece lie about “foreign” donations to the Trucker Convoy to justify seizing their donated funds.

Douglas Todd: Trudeau’s crackdown on real-estate investors won’t work. Here’s why.

Justin Trudeau’s government snagged the headlines it wanted last week when it was widely reported the budget would impose a temporary ban on foreign investors snapping up more of Canada’s over-priced real-estate.

The headlines made the federal Liberals look aggressive, and even a bit patriotic, in their apparent determination to combat offshore speculation in Canadian housing.

Canadians should brace for steep summer gas prices, analyst warns

Canadians should prepare themselves for an expensive summer at the pumps as the price of oil continues to skyrocket, with one analyst warning that a $2 per litre price tag may become a common occurrence in many regions.

The warning comes after months of record-high price fluctuations driven by post-pandemic demand for fuel and a decrease in supply, and compounded further by sanctions on Russian oil handed down in March.

Trudeau’s Master Plan For Neo-Communist Control Of Canada

The slow and silent creep of Woke ideology is permeating all government-funded institutions. Agendas of inverted racism such as Critical Race Theory and “racial equity” are worming their way toward social standards. While ominous in conception, further observations deepen concern.

Ottawa won’t introduce green tax on pickup trucks, environment minister says

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault said the Conservative are lying about a secret government plan to add a green tax to pickup trucks.

There have been several tweets from Tory MPs, the Conservative party and Alberta Premier Jason Kenney in recent days insisting the government is about to extend a federal green levy to pickups.

“This so-called fee on trucks doesn’t exist,” Guilbeault said Wednesday, in a tweet responding to Conservative MP and leadership candidate Pierre Poilievre.

Internal polling must have been horrendous.
