Ottawa’s inaction is fraying the consensus on immigration

It’s a stunning, yet entirely predictable, turnaround in public opinion.

Less than a year ago, polling by Nanos Research showed 61 per cent of Canadians thought that immigration levels should either be increased or stay the same, in keeping with a decades-old consensus that welcomes newcomers to this country.

Public opinion has inverted, according to Nanos. In December, 61 per cent of Canadians said immigration levels should be reduced, with just 34 per cent still believing that Canada should maintain or increase the number of newcomers.

I think the alleged concensus around immigration was fraying far earlier especially among urban dwellers.

The myth was propped up by the fact that until recently merely raising the topic of immigration policy was to risk being labeled a racist by the political and chattering classes.

This was done at the behest of the corporate class who to this day dictate Canada’s immigration policy to the detriment of everyone save themselves and their political minions.

The stopper on immigration discussion was only removed in the past year as the ruling class no doubt sensed an imminent explosion.

It’s a start that ideally will result in the will of citizens being made paramount in designing immigration policy.

Our politicians have proven they cannot be trusted to act in our best interests.

One aspect of mass immigration the MSM refuses to address is the impact on society caused by the introduction of incompatible cultures.

Our MSM won’t touch Islam’s clash with western culture despite vast numbers of marauding Hamas supporters in the streets of every major western city.

Despite decades of living under the constant threat of Islamist terrorism and the encroachment of sharia law in society.

Islam’s harmful presence has been an exercise in the tolerance of the intolerant made possible by the elite’s embrace of racist doctrines such as DEI and CRT and the dissent crushing cancel culture bludgeons of official multiculturalism and diversity.

Not all cultures are equal and that is indisputable.

No wave of immigration has cost societies across the west more than Islam.

The dollars spent on domestic policing to keep the Hamas mobs in check is likely already in the millions in Canada alone.

The kowtowing of our political class to ethnic strongmen is a shameless insult to Canada and emboldens groups to import their pet hatreds and battle it out in our streets.

But no longer.

The sacred cows too long off limits in the polite society of our (Often government subsidized) betters are being slaughtered one by one.

Pity the MSM and our mainstream political parties remain behind the curve.

GUNTER: Micro-managing leading to mistrust of federal government

Over the last several years, senior federal civil servants have repeatedly expressed their surprise at Canadians’ eroding faith in government.

Do they not get out much and speak with dissatisfied, ordinary citizens? I suppose in their vacuum-sealed social and professional worlds they encounter very few people angered by the daily intrusions of government in their personal lives.

In 25 years, up to half of Canadians may identify as racialized or visible minority, report finds

Canada’s demographic revolution is running at a furious pace, with population growth outstripping even the boldest predictions, mostly due to immigration, with important implications for Canadian identity as much as demography, according to a new poll by Leger for the Association for Canadian Studies.

Canada’s population surpassed 40 million people this summer, earlier than predicted. Statistics Canada reported recently that Canada’s population grew by more than 430,000 in the third quarter of this year, for a total of 40.5 million.

Perceptions of corruption increasing in Canada: Report

Canada faces “increased perceptions of corruption,” a new Department of Public Safety report says.

According to Blacklock’s Reporter, the document doesn’t identify specific cases but says “establishing a strong ethical tone at the top may be a useful tactic.

“The country has experienced a relatively consistent drop in its score over the past two decades, indicating increased perceptions of corruption,” said the report, “Methods Of Preventing Corruption: A Review And Analysis Of Select Approaches.”

Former Chair of Embattled Green Fund Says She Did No ‘Wrong’ as Testimony Cut Short

The former chair of a federal green fund told MPs she didn’t do anything wrong, a day after a whistleblower alleged publicly the organization is corrupt.

“I believe the success of the projects SDTC has funded demonstrate that the board under my leadership has done a lot that is right,” Annette Verschuren told the House of Commons industry committee on Dec. 12.

She said she resigned from the board on Dec. 1 “not because I have done anything wrong” but because she believes “the organization’s work is too important to be compromised by the distraction that these allegations have caused.”

NDP Keeps Justin Trudeau Afloat

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sometimes seems to defy political gravity. He’s held office for more than eight years, through scandal and error. He survived revelations that he wore blackface three times as a young man, along with two ethics violations handed down from Canada’s ethics commissioner for conflict of interest. He has had public spats with female parliamentarians and ministers—as well as icy relations with China and India and with Presidents Trump and Biden.

Population growth is the housing issue politicians can’t keep ducking

If there’s a hot political debate over why Canada has a housing crisis, it is important to talk about the proximate cause.

It’s population growth. And the temporary resident boom.

Canadian politicians have spent a lot of time dodging and ignoring this unavoidable fact.

See the Hamas support rallies in our streets? That’s another aspect of population growth our so called mainstream politicians refuse to address.

The toxins of mass immigration, multiculturalism and diversity are putting lives at risk while ripping our society apart.

Not all cultures are equal. Canada’s political class and their corporate backers has invited incompatibale cultures to settle here.

Politicians don’t care where the bodies come from, they only care about meeting the population targets set by their corporate cronies and gaining the votes of ethnic strongmen.

Canada’s wreckless and destructive immigration policy is born of cowardice and greed without a care for the harm done to citizens.

Another Member Of Trudeau’s Green Slush Fund Is Under Investigation

The Canadian governments Sustainable Development Technology Fund, often referred to as a “Trudeau’s green slush fund,” is under fire yet again today.

Member of Parliament Michael Barrett this morning on Twitter has revealed that yet another member of the board of directors, Guy Ouimet, is under investigation following allegations of a conflict of interest. The investigation follows the resignation of Leah Lawrence, President and CEO of the agency, whom stepped down after it was revealed that SDTC chair Annette Verschuren had received funding from the agency for her own organization. Verschuren has also stepped down from her role with the organization.

Current levels of temporary immigration are unsustainable

Canada and Quebec experienced a sudden and unexpected explosion in their populations in 2022. At 2.4% and almost 1.8% respectively, this is the strongest one-year population growth in at least half a century.

The main source of this explosion is the extraordinarily high level of temporary immigration. However, political leaders tend to focus their attention purely on the number of permanent immigrants (for example, 500,000 in Canada in 2025, or 50,000 to 60,000 in Quebec in 2027) and “omit” temporary immigration.

This is a serious error of assessment.

Corporate Crony Class Win: Canadian Unemployment Rises, Immigrants Sold On Non-Existent Opportunities, Depressed Wages For All!

Canada’s labor market is stronger than expected, but most weren’t expecting much. Today’s Statistics Canada (Stat Can) Labor Force Survey (LFS) update shows the economy added more jobs than expected in November. However, the data also revealed more laborers were added than work, boosting unemployment. The trend is seen continuing near-term, with recent immigrants bearing the brunt. Most were struggling to find the relevant work they were sold on at record low unemployment. It doesn’t get easier as competition rises for roles in a downturn.
