Comedy Shows Claim Iran War Is a Distraction From Epstein

The late night comedy shows were largely upset on Monday at combat operations against Iran that began on Saturday. Three of the five hosts tried to argue they were simply a distraction from the Epstein files while the others still managed to offer up some underwhelming criticisms.

CBS’s Stephen Colbert declared on The Late Show that, “This military mission has been dubbed Operation Epic Fury… Fun fact: “Epic Fury” is an anagram for ‘Forget Epstein.’”

At an anti-war demonstration in Los Angeles on Saturday, the 88-year-old Fonda said, “This is a desperate immoral act in the hopes that he (Trump) can score a victory and be declared war President. This political trick will generate support. I truly believe that enough people in this country have learned the lessons of the Vietnam War, the Iraq War, the war in Afghanistan, and other unnecessary and illegal wars, that we can say loud and clear: The people of the United States are here to tell the Trump administration, ‘You may wage this war in our names, but not with our consent.’

Donald Trump has responded to a recent podcast appearance by Robert De Niro, in which he called the president “an idiot”.

Speaking on Monday’s episode of The Best People with Nicole Wallace, De Niro, who has long criticised the politics, morals and competence of Trump, said: “He’s an idiot. We gotta get rid of him. He’s gonna ruin the country.”

He added:“ I don’t want everybody going around with their Maga, the American flags, like they’re the only ones. We are Americans too.”
