Spring, the season of rebirth, is as good a moment as any to review the second lives of the formerly cancelled. Some are faring better than others: Louis C.K., for one, is fully back in business, albeit after taking a multi-million dollar financial hit for his masturbatory scandal circa 2017. Roseanne Barr, who lost her TV series over a racist (and allegedly Ambien-induced) tweet is now a moderately successful podcaster, as well as a cast member on a new, “anti-woke” animated series from The Daily Wire. Shane Gillis, fired from Saturday Night Live over offensive comments, was welcomed back to the stage as host this year, a sure sign that all was forgiven.

These are the success stories, the comebacks, the triumphs over adversity. But then, in a category all his own, there’s Jussie Smollett.

When Laura Ingraham wrote her book Shut Up and Sing in 2003, the Left didn’t read the book as much as overreact to the title. The title implied something important. While celebrities gain a “platform” they feel compelled to use, do their opinions reflect any expertise? Or is fame more important than logic?

Celebrities often lead with emotion, and expect to cause an emotional reaction. They don’t expect “independent fact-checkers” to examine their emotions.

Sunny Hostin was roasted by her co-hosts on The View after she claimed that the solar eclipse, New York City’s recent earthquake and the arrival of cicadas are all linked to climate change.

The View co-hosts had a heated debate on Monday as they tried to explain the science behind the total solar eclipse, which saw millions of Americans taking to the streets to view the rare celestial phenomenon.

Hostin, 55, began by asserting that the total solar eclipse, the 4.8-magnitude earthquake that rocked New York City last week, and the imminent arrival of trillions of red-eyed insects are possible signs of climate change.

Joe Rogan nailed it when he called The View a “rabies-infested henhouse” because it perfectly sums up the rabid squawking antics of the gaggle of brainless women plopped around the studio table.

Catholic League president Bill Donohue has slammed Hollywood director/actor Rob Reiner for his bigoted attack on U.S. Christians.

Last month, Reiner released a film titled God and Country about an “alleged threat to American democracy posed by so-called Christian nationalists,” Dr. Donohue notes.

Neil Young on Wednesday said his music will return to Spotify, just over two years after he and other artists removed their catalogues from the music streaming platform amid a vaccine disinformation dispute.

Spotify has not confirmed the news. CNBC has contacted the company for comment.
