Question immigration? CSIS is watching. Question Covid policy? CSIS is watching. Speak out against the sexual mutilation of children? CSIS is watching.

Jamie Sarkonak: Is wokeness driving CSIS’s new approach to counter-terrorism?

Half of the country’s counter-terrorism resources are dedicated to ideological threats, says the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). With such a strong focus, it’s worthwhile to ask whether CSIS is a hammer in search of a nail.

… Indeed, COVID misinformation is included as a threat factor to Canada, along with Chinese interference and targeting by ISIL, or DAESH. From a distance, it’s hard to say whether this is actually a rising threat, or whether CSIS is simply expanding the scope of national security to appear more inclusive. It’s a distinction that should be made clear.

Ideological extremism of concern is classified by CSIS into four categories: xenophobia, anti-authority sentiments, anti-identity and anti-gender sentiments, and “other” ideological motivations. The final “other” category would include environmental and typically left-wing motivations like environmentalism, though CSIS has said this does not include actions like Indigenous rail blockades.

No wonder CSIS has a patriotic leaker. It appears that another Canadian institution has been compromised by the Liberal Party.

It’s worth noting that the FBI has been caught out fudging the numbers to amplify the “Right-Wing threat.” To the benefit of the Democratic party of course: Democrats Cook the FBI’s Books on Domestic Terrorism

The UK’s “PREVENT” anti-terrorism program went completely off the rails and classified an appreciation of Shakespeare as an indicator of “Right-Wing Extremism” – Is Shakespeare ‘far-right’ now?

In Germany anti-semitic attacks by Muslims are routinely blamed on the “Far-Right” – Germany is accused of downplaying anti-Semitic attacks by Muslims

In Canada we’ve seen our government media work hand in glove with a hate group supporting “Hate Manufacturer” to demonize any opinion to the right of Antifa as “extremist.”

Am I detecting a trend? Bet that gets my name on a list.

Of course reading this blog will likely land you on a CSIS watch list. Sorry bout that;)

Why would anyone think the Liberals want to control the media? Oh, I can think of a few reasons…

Wait, so the allegations in The Globe story were true? Our sources were not partisan coup-plotters? The Globe’s reporters and editors are not credulous half-wits?

Or what else are we to conclude from the Trudeau government’s decision to expel a Chinese diplomat, Zhao Wei, shortly after The Globe reported he had been gathering information on family members of Conservative MP Michael Chong, a prominent critic of the Beijing regime, with the intent of making “an example” of him.

Michael Shellenberger: World on cusp of woke totalitarianism as governments act to end free speech

The Twitter Files gave us a window into how government agencies, civil society, and tech companies work together to censor social media users. Now, key nations are attempting to enshrine this coordination into law explicitly.

Around the world, politicians have either just passed or are on the cusp of passing sweeping new laws, which would allow governments to censor ordinary citizens on social media and other Internet platforms.

Federal government asked Twitter and Facebook to remove newspaper article, documents show

Newly released documents show that a federal government department asked Facebook and Twitter to delete a newspaper article that it felt contained errors — but both social-media giants denied the request.

Trudeau’s Battle Against a Free Internet

A proposed new law would give the government the power to filter what Canadians see in their news feeds, on YouTube and on social media. It also could block the next Justin…

In January 2007, Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, posted a video of her son, then 12, covering R&B star Ne-Yo’s “So Sick” at a kids’ singing competition in a little town near Toronto.

“I told him, ‘Okay, you’ve never sung in front of anybody before, and you’ve never had singing lessons,’” Mallette told me. ‘Let’s adjust our expectations.’ ” Bieber finished third. “One of the judges actually left because she was upset that he didn’t come first,” Mallette said.

Sen. David Richards: Bill C-11 Takes Us Into the Very Realms We Have Fought to Depose Over the Last 70 Years

Honourable colleagues,

There is a certain essay by Cicero called “The Second Philippic” which was written to expose the power of the state against freedom of speech and freedom of thought—and the power of one man, Marc Antony. It is a brilliant proclamation and shows Cicero at his best and bravest. It was delivered in the Roman Senate, and Cicero paid for writing it with his life. His hands were cut off and taken to Marc Antony, as proof that Cicero would never write again.

Cicero lived in a dangerous time.

Usual cranks who seek to deny your voice worried about Musk’s Twitter

Will Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover have ‘big implications’ for Canada’s upcoming — and already contentious — online harms bill?

… Canadian lawmakers are already thinking about the battle ahead.

“The reality is Elon Musk and his takeover of Twitter have been disastrous, not just for the complete incoherence of Twitter, but the fact that he has — in a very real sense through his words and his actions — helped to promote hate,” said NDP heritage critic Peter Julian, who will be one of the MPs tasked with scrutinizing the online safety bill when it is introduced.

“The fact that they have gutted many of the jobs that were designed to curb hate through Twitter, and his deliberate fostering of disinformation and hate, is going to have an even greater impact.”

Rumble Leaves France to Avoid Censorship Demands

This week, video platform Rumble chose free speech over funds, leaving France after the government demanded that the platform increase censorship.

The Ron Paul Institute’s Daniel McAdams reported Wednesday, “Faced with French Government demands that free-speech video platform Rumble censor Russian news channels, the company’s CEO simply said ‘no.’ No more Rumble for France. It’s a brave example of how to resist ‘cancel culture.’”

The End of Debate

In New York City, world leaders dodged traffic, deranged panhandlers and the city’s unique fall funk, to lecture the planet about their views at the United Nations General Assembly.

Their theme was the threat that “misinformation” or “disinformation” poses to their power.

“Hate speech, misinformation and abuse — targeted especially at women and vulnerable groups — are proliferating,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres claimed.

It is the district in the Fort Worth area that ordered librarians to remove the Bible.
