Ex-CEO Claims China’s Top Bank Told Him to ‘Ignore’ Canadian Law

The former CEO of the Canadian subsidiary of China’s largest bank says he was instructed to “ignore” Canadian law and “circumvent” Canadian regulators, alleging he was fired for not following these directions.

Lubin Wang, 51, former head of ICBK, the Canadian subsidiary of the state-owned Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), China’s largest bank, filed a lawsuit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice for wrongful dismissal earlier this year, alleging he was pressured to scale back or abandon efforts to comply with Canadian regulations.

China’s Infiltration of North America Runs ‘Deep,’ Says Canadian Investigative Journalist

From manufacturing fentanyl precursors, to operating unofficial Chinese police stations on Western soil, to recruiting academics abroad to gain access to foreign technologies needed to advance Beijing’s goals, China’s infiltration of North America runs “deep,” says a Canadian investigative journalist.

The problem of China’s operations in Canada drew renewed attention last month when FBI Director Kash Patel said Beijing is among the hostile regimes working with cartels to smuggle fentanyl into the United States through Canada.

Trump says deal ‘done’ for China to supply rare earths

“Our deal with China is done, subject to final approval with President Xi and me,” Trump said in an online post.

“Full magnets, and any necessary rare earths, will be supplied, up front, by China. Likewise, we will provide to China what was agreed to, including Chinese students using our colleges and universities (which has always been good with me!).”

“We are getting a total of 55% tariffs, China is getting 10%. Relationship is excellent! Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

China’s super-embassy in London ‘must be blocked’ after US warning

Plans for a new Chinese “super-embassy” in London must be blocked after a warning from the White House, the Tories have said.

Chris Philp, the shadow home secretary, said the proposals for a huge new complex near the city’s financial hub pose a “security risk” and should be thrown out.

The proposed “mega embassy” at the former Royal Mint site near the Tower of London has been locked in a planning battle for years, with the decision called in for review last year.

Strategic U.S. Real Estate Acquired by Aggressor Nations Needs Urgent Review

When Chinese entities began to buy up farmland near remote but strategic American military installations here in the United States, there were some of us who raised the question, Why?

Those who did so were criticized, described as paranoid, Sinophobic, and hostile to Chinese investment in America.

We might want to revisit that criticism.

Chinese researchers charged with smuggling dangerous biological pathogen into US

Biological Pathogens Smuggled Into the US by China

A pair of Chinese researchers have been charged for allegedly smuggling a biological pathogen into the US to study at the University of Michigan, according to federal authorities.

Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, have been charged with conspiracy, smuggling, making false statements and visa fraud after authorities found that Liu entered the country last year with a toxic fungus stashed in his backpack.

Liu attempted to smuggle the pathogen through Detroit airport so he could study it at the University of Michigan laboratory where his girlfriend, Jian, worked, the complaint said.

How China Is Quietly Outsmarting the West

Even Canada has acknowledged the presence of secret Chinese police stations masquerading as outreach centers.

There is something unsettling about modern silence. The hum of a solar panel. The blink of a router. The quiet whirr of an inverter behind a barn. These things do not shout. They wait. And increasingly, they listen.

This month, two reports — one from Reuters, the other from The Times (U.S.) — confirmed what security analysts long feared and policymakers chose to ignore: the Chinese Communist Party has embedded itself into Western infrastructure.

The ‘New Warfare’ Comes of Age: Are We Ready?

I’m filled with admiration for Ukraine’s daring and imaginative strike this weekend at high-value targets across the length and breadth of Russia. I don’t for a moment believe that, by itself, this one strategic blow will change the outcome of the war, but if the Ukrainians can continue to find fresh ways to extend the scope of the conflict, to inflict damage deep inside Russia, and to force the Russian armed forces to defend as well as attack, then the entire conflict might well take on a new and entirely different dimension.

Mexican Cartels Expanding Operations in Canada, Using Indigenous Reserves as Factory Hubs

With Factories on Six Nations Land, Mexican Cartels Are Using Canada to Smuggle Counterfeit Goods Into the U.S. and Mexico

OTTAWA — “Project Panda,” a major Ontario gang taskforce takedown in May targeting a counterfeit tobacco factory on the Six Nations Reserve near Hamilton and Buffalo, exposes a long-ignored reality: Mexican cartel networks have deeply embedded themselves in Canadian territory near the U.S. border—and are expanding in tandem with Chinese state-linked crime partners, using Indigenous land for counterfeit production and cross-border smuggling.

This is no longer just a policing matter. It is a national security crisis—one that exploits Indigenous communities, land, and jurisdictional protections that have inadvertently shielded criminal networks now designated as terrorist threats. Worse still, the threat has long been known to Canadian, American, and Mexican authorities. Yet Ottawa has failed to act.

Harvard Has Trained So Many Chinese Communist Officials, They Call It Their ‘Party School’

Kennedy School of Government is favored by party cadres seeking career boosts

U.S. schools—and one prestigious institution in particular—have long offered up-and-coming Chinese officials a place to study governance, a practice that the Trump administration could end with a new effort to keep out what it says are Chinese students with Communist Party ties.

For decades, the party has sent thousands of mid-career and senior bureaucrats to pursue executive training and postgraduate studies on U.S. campuses, with Harvard University a coveted destination described by some in China as the top “party school” outside the country.

Alumni of such programs include a former vice president and Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s top negotiator in trade talks with the first Trump administration.

It’s certainly endorsed by Carney.

Chinese Communist-approved cardinal took part in papal election. Why is no one talking about this?

The conclave that elected the first American pope had another first that few have heard about: a voting cardinal named Stephen Chow who was approved for his current position by the Chinese Communist Party, pursuant to a 2018 pact between the Party and the Vatican. He is, by Chinese law, obliged to “support the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party” as part of the CCP’s United Front Work Department. That’s its entity charged with conducting global propaganda and influence operations.

Hegseth warns China poses ‘imminent’ threat to Taiwan and urges Asia to boost defence

US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth has warned of China posing an “imminent” threat to Taiwan, while urging Asian countries to boost defence spending and work with the US to deter war.

While the US does not “seek to dominate or strangle China”, it would not be pushed out of Asia nor allow its allies to be intimidated, Hegseth said while addressing a high-level Asian defence summit.

In response, China has accused the US of being the “biggest troublemaker” for regional peace.

Targeting Military Installations, IP Theft: A Look at Criminal Cases Involving Chinese Students

The Trump administration’s pledge that it will begin to “aggressively” revoke visas of Chinese students was made after years of concern over the Chinese regime’s efforts to infiltrate U.S. academia.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced on May 29 that the United States will begin revoking Chinese student visas, specifically targeting those with ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or studying in critical fields. It will also revise visa criteria and heighten scrutiny for future visa applications.

State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce on Thursday said the government is enhancing scrutiny of all Chinese visa holders in the United States. She declined to detail specific criteria the department will use in assessing applications.

Electric Vehicles and the China Connection

With the Trump administration back in the White House, America has an opportunity to restore commonsense energy and manufacturing policies after years of radical environmental overreach. One of the most glaring examples of this overreach is the electric vehicle (EV) push — a movement championed by progressive elites that, under the guise of sustainability, threatens to undermine national security, weaken domestic industry, and entangle our economy further with the Chinese Communist Party.
