Confession Secrecy: Catholic Church Targeted by French MPs

The French National Assembly has dropped the most controversial part of a child protection bill that would have lifted the seal of confession in cases of violence against minors.

The provision, which sought to challenge sacramental secrecy, was the focal point of heated debates over the past few days in the Assembly during examination of the legislation aimed at protecting children and combating violence in schools. The bill was finally adopted on June 1 without this measure.

Ottawa cuts funding to activist group accused of anti-Catholic bias

Ottawa cuts funding to activist group accused of anti-Catholic bias

A Toronto-based activist organization accused of targeting Catholics and pro-life groups has lost its federal heritage funding for the first time since 2020 after MPs raised concerns the taxpayer-funded group was fueling political division.

Access To Information records show the Canadian Anti-Hate Network received nearly $700,000 from the Department of Canadian Heritage over the past five years before its latest funding agreement expired Feb. 28 without renewal.

This was Bernie Farber’s gang. I wonder if he’s given himself credit for helping create “The Silence”.

New Report Reveals 5 Shocking Examples Of Biden DOJ’s Anti-Christian Bias

New Report Reveals 5 Shocking Examples Of Biden DOJ’s Anti-Christian Bias

The Biden administration sought to target and prosecute Christians, going so far as to allegedly withhold evidence for pro-life defendants, a new report from the Justice Department reveals.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a statement that the “Biden Administration’s actions devastated the lives of many Christian Americans.”

“No American should live in fear that the federal government will punish them for their faith,” he noted.

Progressives Push to Remake Christianity in Their Image

Progressives Push to Remake Christianity in Their Image

As many have noted in recent years, Christianity in the West is in decline, and a principal reason is that the “muscular Christianity” of a bygone era has been watered down by an infiltration of Progressives determined to weaken Christian morality by making it more “tolerant” and “inclusive” of Left-wing causes such as gender ideology and the feminist siege of the “patriarchy.”

Europe now treats Christian views as criminal

Europe now treats Christian views as criminal

In what has become known as the ‘Bible trial’, Christian politician Päivi Räsänen was criminally convicted last week of ‘hate speech’ in Finland’s Supreme Court. Her successful prosecution was based on a 21-year-old church pamphlet, which simply re-stated Christian sexual ethics. The verdict, the culmination of a seven-year witch hunt carried out by Finnish authorities, is perhaps the clearest illustration yet of Europe’s censorship crisis.

Anti-Christian Hatred in Europe: Report Warns of Growing Phenomenon

“Christianophobia”—understood as hostility, discrimination, or violence directed against Christian people and symbols because they are Christian—is a phenomenon that is becoming increasingly visible and serious across Europe. A report published by the European Centre for Law and Justice (ECLJ) on December 1st highlights an often underestimated reality: the rise in anti-Christian hate crimes—physical, legal and social—profoundly affecting the religious freedom and daily lives of Christians on the continent.

The ECLJ and the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe (OIDAC) have compiled data showing that no fewer than 2,211 anti-Christian crimes were committed in 2024, including 274 physical assaults, across a panel of 35 European countries studied.

The rising fear of American Christians

Why are churches arming themselves?

Church bulletins don’t usually set passions aflame, but last month, an ad in the newsletter of The Ascension Catholic Church in Chesterfield, Missouri, did just that. Placed by parishioner John Ray, the ad called to recruit “all young men back to the church to form a militia” at the Legion of Sancta Lana. Those taking up the offer would be tasked with “protecting the Holy Eucharist, our congregation, our clergy and the church grounds from violent and non-violent attacks”.

EU Report Ignores Muslim Violence to Label Catholics ‘Religious Extremists’

According to new report, opposition to abortion is more ‘extreme’ than rape.

AEuropean abortion lobby is warning against “religious extremism” on the rise across the continent, singling out Catholicism and ignoring the threat posed to Europe by Islam. The 158-page report “The Next Wave: How Religious Extremism Is Reclaiming Power,” published by the European Parliamentary Forum for Sexual & Reproductive Rights (EPF), faults “religious extremism” for the phenomenon of “accelerating financial expansion of movements working to dismantle decades of hard-won sexual and reproductive rights across Europe.”

Trump Vows to End Bias Against Christians

Despite its still large number of adherents, Christianity has borne the brunt of ruling class hostility toward religious faith.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi held a press conference Tuesday where she formally launched the White House Task Force to Eradicate Anti-Christian Bias.

The issue of anti-Christian bias extends as well into the halls of academia. U.S. President Donald Trump mandated the task force through a Presidential Executive Order in February. The decision is designed to end the anti-Christian weaponization of government and unlawful conduct targeting Christians.

Joining the attorney general were members of President Trump’s cabinet and key government agencies as well as people purportedly affected by anti-Christian bias during the Biden administration.

PARKER: What’s next for Canada’s Christians, as church and state collide?

It’s the end of the Christmas season, and at first glance something wonderful seems to have taken place. Canadians have rediscovered their nation’s Christian roots.

Or have they?

Cheerful evidence that they have can be found in the 40 or so cities and provinces, including Toronto, Saskatoon, Calgary, and Saskatchewan, that for the first time have officially declared December to be Christian Heritage Month.

I do not attend “Winter Villages” or “Holiday Parties”

WARMINGTON: They call it ‘winter village,’ but it will always be Toronto’s Christmas market

You can take Christmas out of the market, but you can’t change the fact that it’s still a Christmas market.

But they are sure going to try.

Just when you thought the politically correct, woke, cancel-culture world was starting to be pushed back upon comes word Toronto’s most famous Christmas market is actually more of a seasonal market.

They call it the Distillery Winter Village.

Why the Left Fears Pete Hegseth’s Crusader Tattoos

Once again, the “Left” is exposing its fear that Christians, who still make up sizeable majorities in the West, may one day do the unthinkable: reclaim their true Christian heritage and abandon the “Doormat Christianity” variety that has long been imposed on them.

Because Pete Hegseth, Trump’s pick to lead the incoming Department of Defense, has Christian tattoos — including the Crusader Cross and the Latin phrase Deus Vult (“God wills it”) — the media, are suggesting that this is proof positive that, once in office, Hegseth will put all his domestic and foreign enemies to the sword.
