Why Socialism?

The attraction – and darkness – of stirring up envy and resentment.

On November 4th, barring an improbable upset, self-professed socialist and jihad enabler Zohran Mamdani will become New York City’s next mayor. That outcome is a sure bet given the Democrats’ permanent nasty pique over Donald Trump’s victory, especially in deep blue New York, and the Dem’s young left-wing being fed up with the party’s elderly establishment.

Communist Front Group Plans Mass Occupation in DC Starting Nov. 5, Wants Millions to Surround White House & Drive Trump From Office

The far-left group, Refuse Fascism, is organizing an “unrelenting” mass demonstration in Washington D.C. with the hope that their efforts will lead to the removal of President Trump from office.

Starting on November 5, the one-year anniversary of Trump’s election, they plan to besiege the White House, the Capitol, and what they call “the illegitimate fascist-packed Supreme Court” until the U.S. government is toppled.

The left’s embrace of Islam and socialism

How much farther left will the Democrats go? They’re increasingly aligning themselves with ideologies historically associated with violence and oppression: Islam and socialism or communism. Their incorporation of Marxist thought and accommodation of the influences of radical Islam threaten the American values of individual liberty, free enterprise, and national security.

Communist leaders slaughtered over 100 million people in the 20th century through regimes like the Soviet Union, Maoist China, and North Vietnam. When Democrats advocate for socialism, wealth redistribution, and expanded government control, they echo the ideologies of those regimes. Figures like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez openly identify as “democratic socialists,” promoting policies such as Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, and student debt forgiveness. Conservatives view these as steps toward a command economy, eroding capitalism. The Democrat (they’re not democratic) party’s 2020 platform emphasized “economic justice” and taxing the wealthy, which conservatives liken to Marxist class warfare.

They deserve each other… Socialists and Islam

Gavin Newsom’s American dystopia

Gavin Newsom Oily Evangelist

‘President Gavin Newsom met today in Carmel, California with the representatives of the “Ten” – a consortium of giant tech and finance firms who control most of America’s business assets. Facing a challenge from front-running New York senator Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is pushing for a radical redistribution of wealth and property, Newsom has struck a deal with the oligarchs. He has imposed a universal basic income to head off a mounting populist revolt…

The Rise of America’s Young Socialists—From the 2008 Financial Crisis to Mamdani

Well before Lehman Brothers collapsed and capitalism quaked, Gabe Tobias had an arresting view of what would become the global financial crisis.

It was in Santa Ana, Calif., where Tobias was working as a community organizer after finishing college in 2006. He was meant to be advising low-income families on healthcare.

Soon, though, his work changed.

German Young Socialists: “Ban Men’s Podcasts! Take the Microphones Away from Men!”

A youth chapter of SPD proposes that ‘male’ podcasts only be allowed to continue if a female fact-checker is involved.

The Kiel branch of the Young Socialists (Jusos) is demanding a ban on men’s podcasts, Apollo News reports. Jusos is arguing that the format spreads ‘toxic masculinity’ stereotypes and conspiracy theories, and pose a threat to democratic values. Their motion, set to be debated at the SPD youth organization’s state delegate conference at the end of September, is titled: “Ban men’s podcasts! – Take the microphones away from men!”

DOBBIE: The underlying arrogance of the socialist belief system

Not only is the concept of socialism flawed due to natural law that demands the survival of the fittest in order to guarantee the future of life, it confers a contradictory elite status on those chosen to decide what is best for the millions.

This school of thought claims to be all about “equality” but is blind to the reality that when you force “equality” on another it frequently reduces society’s ability to do what all life demands — to continually improve the species, making it stronger and more resilient.

Mamdani’s Success Is Not a Response to Austerity

The socialist’s base is composed of young, college-educated adults—not the poor.

New York City is well known for its expansive public sector. New York State is first nationally in state and local taxes per capita and as a percent of personal income, and second in terms of state and local spending per capita. While those statistics aren’t available at the municipal level, state spending is certainly getting funneled to Gotham. Forty-seven percent of New York City residents are enrolled in Medicaid, for example, compared with 35 percent statewide. Consider, also, the city’s multibillion-dollar affordable housing effort and its unique commitment to sheltering the homeless. Austerity, this is not.

Democratic Socialists of America Hold Panel on Abolishing the Family

These people are insane – but serious and committed.

Earlier this week the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) uploaded to YouTube the video of a panel discussion from its annual Socialism Conference, held in Chicago over Independence Day weekend. For those who hear the term democratic socialism and picture happy Scandinavians living their best lives instead of being chewed up in a capitalist rat race, it’s worth noting that the discussion featured open calls for the abolition of the nuclear family in the United States.

Poll: 62% of Gen Z kids like socialism, 34% like communism

Rikki Schlott at the New York Post reported yesterday on the results of a new poll from the Cato Institute and YouGov which revealed that 62% of Gen Z kids (ages 18–29) held a “favorable view” of socialism” while 34% held a “favorable view” of communism.

Can these young Americans define or recognize either of these systems by the actual (rotten) fruits of their harvests? I guarantee that’s a big fat no, but it doesn’t matter, because they’re voting for it anyway.

On the Fourth of July, These Radicals Made Plans to Topple America

At the Socialism 2025 conference in Chicago, mainstream academics called for revolution.

While the rest of the United States celebrated American independence on July 4, a rogues’ gallery met in Chicago to discuss how to dismantle our constitutional republic. The event, Socialism 2025, was billed as “a four-day conference bringing together thousands of socialists and radical activists from around the country” to discuss “social movements, abolition, Marxism, decolonization, working-class history, and the debates and strategies for organizing today.” Held every Fourth of July weekend, this conference, which meets in person and livestreams to YouTube, is “a place where activists share lessons from their struggles—from Palestine solidarity campaigns to the fight for gender liberation, from striking workers to the struggle to stop the destruction of the planet, the fight against racism, migrant justice, and more.”

Republicans Must Not Cede the Urban Working Class to Socialists Like Zohran Mamdani

Mamdani’s victory over Andrew Cuomo shows where the Democrat Party is headed. It’s up to populist Republicans to stop the country from going there, too.

The victory of Zohran Mamdani, a self-described democratic socialist, in New York City’s Democrat primary has conservatives searching for answers. Unfortunately, many are attributing it to college-brainwashed rich kids, dismissing the notion that hardworking people in an expensive city could find price controls and free public transit attractive.

Homes for hipsters

More than his good looks, charm and great social-media game, the biggest reason that Zohran Mamdani may become New York’s next mayor grows from his focus on the city’s affordability crisis, most of which is tied to high housing prices.

Mamdani’s ‘cost of living’ campaign – offering rent control, free buses, childcare and city-owned supermarkets – seems to some leftist pundits a potential road back to power, under the guise of the burgeoning YIMBY (‘yes in my backyard’) movement that seeks to lower rental prices through massive housing construction.

Chicago Tribune warns NYC about electing a socialist: ‘What sounded good in theory has translated into dysfunction’

Looking forward to Looting Season.

In one of the most ironic editorials I’ve ever read, the editors at the Chicago Tribune are warning the residents of New York City not to elect Zohran Mamdani because as they say, they’ve “seen this movie before” and “the ending isn’t pretty.”

The “no s**t Sherlock” expression comes to mind.

Toronto will have learned this lesson by next year’s election, I hope.
