WARMINGTON: Peel cops collar ‘Unlucky Seven’ in epic armed carjacking chase and takedown

Seven up and seven down

But for a minute there, these alleged masked bandits were in seventh heaven as they likely thought they had gotten away with another luxury car to sell for huge profit offshore.

Car thieves have become so used to getting away with their violent crimes that they think they can do anything they want and surely these suspects didn’t see all seven of them ending up in a courtroom in the prisoner’s box.

‘We’re hurting’: GTA parents and community groups call for action over missing Black boys

After vanishing without a trace for close to 10 months, a 15-year-old boy was safely found by police and returned home to his Ajax parents last week.

Just days before, his father Clayton gave an impassioned speech to a Black-led community meeting at a North York church, about what he said was the authorities’ indifference to an increasing number of families who have been urging police to help find their missing children.

… Toronto police field roughly 10,000 missing person calls each year. In many such cases, Patterson said, someone is “either running away from something, or they’re running to something,” and uncovering those factors is key to where police start their search.

Gang recruitment is a significant factor.

Canada’s Anti-Money Laundering Agency Isn’t Serious About Real Estate

Canada’s newfound reputation as a money laundering hub hasn’t motivated much action. FINTRAC, Canada’s anti-money laundering watchdog, announced only administrative monetary penalties for real estate firms in 2024. All of the firms were located in Toronto and Vancouver, and appear to be entirely over minor compliance issues. Considering the agency took up to 3 years to fine real estate firms over minor filing infractions, the agency doesn’t seem to be motivated to actually crack down.
