Parents Organize to Push Back Against Critical Race Theory

A growing number of American parents are getting together to find ways to block the spread of the quasi-Marxist critical race theory (CRT) in schools where they send their children.

They see the doctrine as a culprit in creating a toxic environment and exacerbating problems it claims to ameliorate. School officials have been responding with denials or silence.

Only white people can be racist: Inside Global Affairs’ anti-racism course materials

Only white people can be racist: Inside Global Affairs’ anti-racism course materials

“Objectivity” and “worship of the written word” are being taught to Canadian diplomats as markers of “white supremacy”

Monday’s federal budget included a massive expansion of race-based programming, including a new drive for race-focused data collection, funding earmarked for what Ottawa is calling “equity deserving groups” and even a plan to prioritize government procurement from “Black-owned businesses.”

It’s a ramping up of an initiative first begun in 2019, when the Government of Canada began rolling out antiracism training within its departments in a bid to combat a federal bureaucracy that they asserted was shot through with “systemic racism.” Ottawa’s focus on antiracism training became all the more acute after worldwide Black Lives Matter protests prompted by the death of Minneapolis man George Floyd in police custody, which was reflected in the more than $300 million put towards “equity” programs in the 2021 budget.

Head of woke school admits Critical Race Theory has a serious problem

Head of woke school admits Critical Race Theory has a serious problem

Paul Rossi was a math teacher at the prestigious Grace Church school in New York. However, when he suggested that the school’s deep dive into a woke “anti-racist” curriculum was racist and students were being silenced, the school shut him down. Rossi then wrote an open letter that went deservedly viral, leading to his being fired. Rossi next pointed out that the head of the school had agreed with him that the Critical Race Theory operating in the school was anti-White. When the school head denied saying that, Rossi had the receipts to prove he was lying. It’s time to call all these people to account.

Taking Off the Mask: The Department of Education just made it clear that it will promote critical race theory.

Taking Off the Mask: The Department of Education just made it clear that it will promote critical race theory.

Last month, Stanley Kurtz accused two Republicans, Senator John Cornyn and Representative Tom Cole, of being “hornswoggled” into backing the Civics Secures Democracy Act, which would appropriate $1 billion for federal grants to support curriculum development and teacher training in K-12 civics education. Kurtz and others argued that the key words in the bill all but assured the Department of Education would use the money to promote critical race theory (CRT).

We no longer need to take Kurtz’s word for it.

Biden Administration Wants Schools to Teach Prejudice. Here’s What Parents Should Know.

Biden Administration Wants Schools to Teach Prejudice. Here’s What Parents Should Know.

President Joe Biden’s administration wants you to know your children are biased, and Washington has a plan to fix them.

This week, the U.S. Department of Education announced that officials are preparing to use taxpayer money for K-12 schools to advocate the idea that America is systemically racist, and anyone who thinks differently, children included, are part of the problem—whether students know it or not.

I Refuse to Stand By While My Students Are Indoctrinated

I am a teacher at Grace Church High School in Manhattan. Ten years ago, I changed careers when I discovered how rewarding it is to help young people explore the truth and beauty of mathematics. I love my work.

As a teacher, my first obligation is to my students. But right now, my school is asking me to embrace “antiracism” training and pedagogy that I believe is deeply harmful to them and to any person who seeks to nurture the virtues of curiosity, empathy and understanding.

A parent’s letter explains why he pulled his child from school in light of the damaging imposition of Critical Race Theory

A parent’s letter explains why he pulled his child from school in light of the damaging imposition of Critical Race Theory

Dear Fellow Brearley Parents,

Our family recently made the decision not to reenroll our daughter at Brearley for the 2021-22 school year. She has been at Brearley for seven years, beginning in kindergarten. In short, we no longer believe that Brearley’s administration and Board of Trustees have any of our children’s best interests at heart. Moreover, we no longer have confidence that our daughter will receive the quality of education necessary to further her development into a critically thinking, responsible, enlightened, and civic minded adult. I write to you, as a fellow parent, to share our reasons for leaving the Brearley community but also to urge you to act before the damage to the school, to its community, and to your own child’s education is irreparable.

Merchants of Revolution: California’s ethnic studies initiatives train children in Marxist theory—and opposition to the American system.

California public schools are embarking on a new experiment: education as social justice. Earlier this year, the state Department of Education approved an ethnic studies model curriculum, and individual school districts have begun to implement programs that advocate “decolonizing” the United States and “liberating” students from capitalism, patriarchy, and settler colonialism.

Manhattan high school teacher publicly shamed for questioning anti-racism ideology

Bari Weiss’ blog has been publishing pieces by outside contributors. Today she has one written by a Manhattan high school teacher named Paul Rossi which offers his first hand account of daring to question the wisdom of the anti-racism training the school is adopting and forcing on students. Rossi says up front that he knows he’s risking his career to speak up but feels he has an obligation to the students who are being harmed by this.

The racism racket: Diversity training in the workplace and beyond is worse than useless.

The racism racket: Diversity training in the workplace and beyond is worse than useless.

‘Complete and utter crap.’ That’s how Bill Michael, until recently UK chair of global accountancy firm KPMG, described the concept of unconscious bias to his apparently stunned staff. ‘There is no such thing as unconscious bias’, he elaborated. ‘I don’t buy it. Because after every single unconscious-bias training that has ever been done, nothing’s ever improved.’ As is the custom nowadays, Michael issued a public apology before tendering his resignation. This is a shame because his comments were not that far wide of the mark. As I explore in a new report for Civitas, the anti-racism training industry does little to improve outcomes for BAME people and, worse, breathes new life back into racial thinking.

‘Critical Race Theory’ Being Taught at US Army’s West Point: Congressman

A Republican congressman said he is looking for answers from the U.S. Military Academy West Point about whether “critical race theory” is part of instruction for cadets.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) sent a letter to West Point’s superintendent, Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams about “information” that recently came to his “attention from unsettled soldiers, cadets, and families that raises serious concerns about the U.S. Army’s introduction of elements of critical race theory into cadet instruction.”

University student ordered to undergo psychological evaluation & then suspended after questioning definition of ‘microaggressions’

A student who was suspended by the University of Virginia for daring to ask questions during a presentation about ‘microaggressions’ has taken the institution to court, with his story sparking disbelief and anger on social media.

The bizarre saga begins in October 2018, when Kieran Bhattacharya, a student at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine, attended a panel discussion on the subject of ‘microaggressions.’ During a Q&A session, Bhattacharya asked the presenter, an assistant dean at the university, to clarify what constitutes a mini form of aggression.

Society of Woke – In Greater Philadelphia, Quaker schools betray their historical values.

The Society of Friends has educated children in America since 1689, when William Penn urged his new city, Philadelphia, to open Penn Charter. Over the centuries, Quaker schools became some of the East Coast’s most prestigious educational institutions. That legacy of excellence, though, is now in jeopardy as Quaker schools embrace critical race theory, undermining more than 300 years of commitment to objective truth and betraying the tenets of Quakerism itself.

Trudeau government teaches civil servants that ‘only white people can be racist’

LILLEY: Feds’ anti-racism training deals with political agendas, nothing else

“Canada — a colonial settler society — is a concept based on many myths, including European discovery and harmonious multiculturalism,” the section reads in part.

While participants in this training, offered up by Global Affairs Canada, are told to question the very name of the country, they’re also informed not to question other points such as the claim that only white people can be racist.”
