According to Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), chairman of the US House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, whistleblowers have revealed “serious concerns among DHS personnel regarding a longstanding connection between the Chinese Communist Party and Minnesota Governor Timothy James Walz.”
I recently wrote that the 2024 election won’t be that close. Part of my thinking was that pollsters have yet to solve their “Trump problem.”
The pollsters have tried different methodologies, different algorithms. and different ways to contact voters, all seeking to address the “missing Trump voters” that fail to show up in their polls but end up voting by election day.

WASHINGTON—With wars in Ukraine and the Middle East looming over the U.S. election, voters give former President Donald Trump the edge over Vice President Kamala Harris on who would better navigate the country through both conflicts, according to a new Wall Street Journal poll of seven battleground states.
Trump leads Harris among swing-state voters, 50% to 39%, on who is best able to handle Russia’s war in Ukraine and has a wider advantage, 48% to 33%, on who is better suited to handle the Israel-Hamas war. The Republican nominee has pointed to his tenure in the White House as a time of relative peace around the world and has claimed—without providing details—that he could resolve both conflicts quickly if he wins in November.
Michael Dukakis shows up in a tank. George H. W. Bush checks his watch during a debate. John Kerry says he was for the $87 billion for Iraq before he was against it. Mitt Romney writes off the 47 percent of voters who receive government benefits. Hillary Clinton lambastes the deplorables.
Such moments brought clarity. They defined the candidates. They laid out the stakes. They changed the story.
“I say this as someone who’s known her since 1997: She’s trying,” Hala Hijazi assured a panel at an anti-Israel DNC event that once she was president, Kamala would crack down on Israel.
Hijazi, a Jordanian immigrant who has roots in Gaza, is close to Kamala and they both came up through the ranks together. The Muslim official and fundraiser had worked as a special assistant to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown whom she described as a “mentor”.

On his political talk show Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO, comedian Bill Maher slammed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz’s participation in a voter engagement event with black men, set for Friday night.
‘This is not a good sign when you have an African American candidate [Kamala Harris], and yet you’re needing to bolster support among black men,’ Maher said in his monologue.

This is the race Democrats feared. Less than a month before the US election, Donald Trump is regaining the slight edge he held before Democrats convened in Chicago to nominate Kamala Harris. According to the RealClearPolitics polling average in battleground states, Trump trailed Harris from late August until late September. Now, though, he’s back on top at 48.4 to 48.1. His lead may be fractional — and Harris is up two points in the popular vote — but the numbers have Kellyanne Conway feeling good.

Second gentleman Doug Emhoff says claims that he “forcefully” slapped his then-girlfriend in 2012 are a “distraction” – but did not deny the allegations in a new interview that aired Friday.
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough gave Emhoff an opportunity to respond to several “tabloid stories about your personal life.” Reporting from the Daily Mail has claimed Emhoff slapped his then-girlfriend during the Cannes Film Festival more than ten years ago, with sources telling the outlet he hit the unnamed woman so hard that she “spun around.” The story, which is based on claims from several of the unnamed women’s friends as she declined to speak with the outlet, suggested he may have hit her in a moment of jealousy after he believed she had been flirting with a valet.

Vice President Kamala Harris has sparked controversy over her latest Vogue cover, with the publication featuring a profile declaring her the ‘candidate for our times.’
The democratic presidential nominee posed in a Gabriela Hearst suit and her infamous Tiffany earrings for the October digital issue of the fashion magazine, but it wasn’t her fashion choices – or polices – that had people up in arms.
Users took to social media to comment on the apparent heavy airbrushing of Harris, 59, on the cover, released on Friday.
