The Real ‘Climate Change Deniers’ Are Those Who Deny the Climate Changed Before We Started Burning Fossil Fuels, Says Geologist

In 2020, Dr. Matthew Wielicki, then still an Associate Professor in the Department of Geology at the University of Alabama, noticed a great deal of anxiety in his students. On the one hand, this was understandable, as the world was just entering the Covid crisis and there was a lot of ignorance and fear about the disease in society at large. However, the anxiety that Wielicki noticed among his students had another cause – fear of climate change and the climate crisis.

US leads wealthy countries spending billions of public money on unproven ‘climate solutions’

Over $12bn in subsidies awarded for technologies like carbon capture experts call ‘colossal waste of money’

A handful of wealthy polluting countries led by the US are spending billions of dollars of public money on unproven climate solutions technologies that risk further delaying the transition away from fossil fuels, new analysis suggests.

These governments have handed out almost $30bn in subsidies for carbon capture and fossil hydrogen over the past 40 years, with hundreds of billions potentially up for grabs through new incentives, according to a new report by Oil Change International (OCI), a non-profit tracking the cost of fossil fuels.

To date, the European Union (EU) plus just four countries – the US, Norway, Canada and the Netherlands – account for 95% of the public handouts on CCS and hydrogen.

Toronto man stupidly rents EV without much thought about where to charge it but CBC says your money can solve his problems

Toronto EV driver can’t use closest overnight charging station because of permit restrictions

A Toronto-based Uber driver spends nearly half an hour most days walking back and forth between an on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging station and his home.

John Chen says he could cut that walk down to eight minutes each way if the city allowed him to use a closer charging station in his neighbouring permit parking zone.

He can’t charge his EV at home because he doesn’t have a designated parking spot and relies on street parking.

Despite living on the edge of his own parking zone near Coxwell Avenue and Dundas Street, Chen says the city told him he can’t get a permit for the other zone to use the closer charger overnight.

The results are in: How much will wind energy cost this one state’s consumers?

On Friday, The Wall Street Journal published an article by Gordon Hughes that (somewhat rhetorically) asked this titular question: “Why Is New York Paying So Much for Wind Power?”

Hughes called the reader’s attention to the revelation that the state of New York had entered into a contract with two wind energy companies, an agreement that will quadruple the cost of energy for the consumer—and that’s including three billion in taxpayer dollars to offset the final price per megawatt-hour—which is “far above the break-even cost of generating electricity.”

Dramatic New Evidence Shows Corals on the Great Barrier Reef Grew in Waters 4C Warmer 8,000 Years Ago. So Much For ‘Global Warming’ Destroying the Reef

In February 2022 the green billionaire-funded Carbon Brief reported that a rise of 0.3ºC in the current global temperature would kill off 99.8% of coral with the rest going as a result of another 0.5ºC of warming. The increasingly unpopular prints are full of similar tosh, despite the fact that sub-tropical corals grow happily between 24ºC-32ºC. Limiting global warming to 1.5ºC rather than 2ºC would likely be the difference between the complete decline of the Great Barrier Reef (GBR), reports the Guardian, quoting a United Nations report. What decline we might ask following three stonking years of embarrassing record growth? Such great click-bait stories are endemic throughout the mainstream media – it’s just a shame about the facts. A newly-published science paper reveals massive increases in coral on the GBR from about 8,000 to 6,000 years ago at a time when sea surface temperatures were 4ºC higher.

Lock Up Your Daughters! Climate Change Causes Rise in Child Marriages

Heavier and longer summer monsoon rains are said to be fuelling a rise in child marriages in Pakistan, reports Agence France-Presse (AFP). Human rights workers are warning such weddings are on the rise “due to climate-driven economic insecurity”. Great story since it holds out a small hope that banning hydrocarbon use can help solve a problem of forced and under-aged female abuse that has been endemic in many cultures since time immemorial. It is just a shame about the facts. According to the World Bank climate change knowledge portal, monsoon rains in June, July and August in the period 1991-2020 were marginally less in Pakistan than fell during 1961-1990.

Heat pumps could bring the German economy to its knees

Emissions would come down. It would create a high skill, high wage economy. And it would reboot industry, accelerate productivity, and deliver a boost to growth. For years we have been told that moving to Net Zero would create hundreds of thousands of jobs, and billions of euros, dollars and pounds have been thrown at the companies promising to make that happen.

But hold on. Now it turns out that the green jobs are disappearing at an accelerating pace – and the investment in creating them will have been squandered.

According to the UN, the People Have Spoken and They Want Governments to do Even More About Climate Change. Never Heard of the People’s Climate Vote? Hard Cheese

How did you vote in the 2024 global People’s Climate Vote?

The People’s Climate Vote…

You’ve never heard of it?

Well, according to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the people have spoken. Between September last year and May of this, thousands of people all over the world were selected by dialling mobile phone numbers at random. Those who didn’t hang up were asked a series of questions about their climate views. According to the results, 80% of the global population believe their country should strengthen its commitments to addressing climate change. Seventy-eight per cent of the world believes their countries should provide more protection from extreme weather events. And only 17% believe their countries are addressing climate change “very well”.

Big Three Ignore Collapse of Vicious Anti-Energy Cabal

A massive asset manager abandoned an alliance dedicated to crushing cheap American energy. ABC, NBC and CBS didn’t bother telling their evening viewers.

Goldman Sachs left Climate Action 100+, a gargantuan environmental social and governance (ESG) pressure group, on Aug. 13. However, for three consecutive nights, NBC Nightly News, ABC News’s World News Tonight and CBS Evening News failed to cover the latest trillion dollar asset manager to leave the Climate Action 100+, MRC Business can confirm.

New Research Debunks the Latest ‘Tipping Point’ Climate Scare to Frighten People into Supporting Net Zero

Last year the mainstream public prints were full of Net Zero-inspired nonsense claiming that the Gulf Stream could collapse by 2025. Classic green fear-mongering of course inspired by the 2004 Hollywood blockbuster The Day After Tomorrow with its harrowing portrayal of weather-related natural disasters. The overturning of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) could plunge the North Atlantic into a new ice age and have dire weather impacts across the globe, according to a new study. The author, Peter Ditlevsen of the University of Copenhagen, told the constantly-alarmed Guardian: “I think we should be very worried.” But this was a scare story too far and even some scientists expressed doubt about it last year. Now, a new study has been published that points out this alarm about the collapsing Gulf Stream was contingent on unreliable climate models and any collapse could occur from now to infinity.

Polar Bears, Dead Coral and Other Climate Fictions

Whatever happened to polar bears? They used to be all climate campaigners could talk about, but now they’re essentially absent from headlines. Over the past 20 years, climate activists have elevated various stories of climate catastrophe, then quietly dropped them without apology when the opposing evidence becomes overwhelming. The only constant is the scare tactics.
