Thunberg came as part of a delegation of French, Belgian, Swedish and Spanish activists to the site near the southwestern city of Toulouse.

No space for SUVs? Paris to vote on tripling parking fees

‘More or less SUVs in Paris?’

The stylized red car splashed against a black background certainly looks threatening. The question posed on posters lining the streets of the French capital ahead of a referendum on Sunday is rhetorical: “Do you want more SUVs on the streets of Paris or fewer?”

Mayor Anne Hidalgo is hoping the 1.3 million Parisians entitled to vote will opt for the latter choice. “The bigger, the more environmentally damaging” is how the center-left politician sums up her views on cars. It’s around this stance, and others, that she has been radically remodeling Paris in recent years.

You can bet this is on Chowtown’s agenda.

Greta Thunberg warned to move before arrest at protest, court told

Climate campaigner Greta Thunberg was given a “final warning” by police before she was arrested for a public order offence, a court has heard.

The 21-year-old was arrested during a demonstration near the InterContinental Hotel in Mayfair on 17 October.

Oil executives had been meeting inside for the Energy Intelligence Forum.

Ms Thunberg appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Thursday after previously denying breaching the Public Order Act 1986.

Scientist who thought we ‘we’re all going to die from climate change’ reveals 7 reasons she was wrong

A scientist who believed humans would die from the climate crisis has made a U-turn and now believes the issue may have been overblown.

Hannah Ritchie, a data scientist at the University of Oxford, claims that doomsday warnings of floods, widespread famine and deaths from disasters are overshadowing the progress that has been quietly made in recent years.

She pointed out how emissions per person peaked in 2012 and remained the same since, along with the notion that organic food is not more climate-friendly and that the dreaded 2.7F of warming is not a tipping point into oblivion.

Young Audiences Question Climate Alarmism, Prompting Calls to Censor Content

A recent study has revealed significant skepticism among young audiences regarding climate alarmism, a development that poses a challenge to advocates of urgent climate action but is likely to be welcomed by those who see stoking fear about the supposed ills of global warming as exaggerated.

The study was released on Jan. 16 by the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), a left-leaning organization that was sued by Elon Musk for allegedly engaging in a “scare campaign” to drive away advertisers.

The tyrannical cult of Greta Thunberg

This week Greta Thunberg turned 21. Yes, the diminutive doom-monger is a full-on grown-up now. The pint-sized predictor of End Times has passed the final threshold of adulthood. Once the world’s best-known petulant teen, never knowingly appearing in public without wearing the scowl of the self-righteous youth, Ms Thunberg has reached the full age of majority. She’s so old she could legally get pissed in America if she wants. Though that seems unlikely, given she once said she ‘would never go out drinking’: ‘I would never do anything… stupid.’ Her birthday party must have been a riot.

We need to free Greta Thunberg

She is now too old to serve her purpose

Greta Thunberg has never been a party animal. In a 2021 podcast, she said she had never been in a bar, spending “all my waking hours when I am not in school constantly working and being an activist”. She also said she had no desire to ever get drunk as this is “not who I am as a person”. So when she turned 21 on Wednesday, it feels safe to say that celebrations won’t have been raucous. And there definitely won’t have been candles — just think of the carbon footprint.

Solar panel firm with Greta Thunberg ad sued over £1.5m house fire

Your carbon footprint was excessive so I initiated the remote arson feature.

A solar-power generating firm that uses Greta Thunberg to promote its products is being sued for more than £1.5 million damages over claims its panels led to a devastating house fire.

Mark and Sarah Evans are suing the award-winning firm Green Energy Electrical, which installed solar panels on their five-bedroom detached house in Essex.

The couple claim the catastrophic fire, which destroyed their home in April 2021, was caused either by a fault in one of the firm’s photovoltaic panels or a heating fault between a panel and electrical cables.
