It’s Not About Protecting Kids, It’s About Banning Guns

The Uvalde killer accessed the school through an unlocked door at Robb Elementary School. There was no outside force multiplier against unlawful entry, no known security system, and no SRO on campus.

The commissions recommended numerous security measures, including controlled ingress/egress, locking doors, SROs, and more. Democrats oppose improving security and instead stated that they were also focusing on basic 9mm handguns while again falsely proclaiming that people were disallowed cannon ownership during the Revolution. He made this remark to the press pool yesterday. Last week Senator Chuck Schumer tanked a school safety proposal instead choosing to advance only gun control measures.

Dead children are the left’s best tactic to achieve total gun confiscation. Then they have complete control.

Republican U.S. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia has denounced Canada’s proposed ban on handguns, while offering to trade Democrats for the Canadian government’s “unwanted” guns.

In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Greene blasted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s proposed ban, which was announced on Monday. The Georgia Republican said that her disapproval of the proposal had led “Democrat blue check marks & blueanons” on Twitter to discuss a U.S. annex of “defenseless Canada” because they were in favor of “Trudeau’s wokeness & tyrannical dictatorship.”

A reminder (since Trudeau apparently forgot) that Canadian gun law is already way stricter than the U.S.

After word leaked earlier this month that the U.S. Supreme Court was set to overturn federal guarantees on abortion, Trudeau immediately issued a statement touting how “every woman in Canada has a right to a safe and legal abortion.” When Black Lives Matter protests roiled the United States last summer, Trudeau was quick to “take a knee” for photographers on the streets of Ottawa. And now, after a mass shooter killed 19 at an elementary school in Texas last week, Trudeau has responded with a slate of new restrictions on Canadian gun ownership.

Government tables bill to freeze sale, imports of handguns

New gun control legislation the federal government tabled today includes a national freeze on the purchase, sale, importation and transfer of handguns in Canada — the government’s most ambitious attempt yet to restrict access to firearms in this country.

While the proposal falls short of a full ban on handguns, it would effectively limit the number of them in Canada.

“In other words, we’re capping the market for handguns,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told a press conference Monday.

Until now only criminals were interested in smuggled guns. Now normal citizens will have no choice.

On a spring evening in 2020, a gunman disguised as a police officer and armed with automatic weapons began a shooting rampage in rural Nova Scotia that left 23 dead.

Days after Canada’s worst mass shooting, the prime minister, Justin Trudeau, promised swift action, announcing an immediate ban on about 1,500 makes and models of military-grade and “assault-style” weapons in the country.

“These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only: to kill the largest number of people in the shortest amount of time. There is no use and no place for such weapons in Canada,” he said. “Effective immediately, it is no longer permitted to buy, sell, transport, import or use military-grade assault weapons in this country.”

Handguns present in majority of firearm-related violent crimes, says StatCan report

Firearm-related homicides have gone up 37 per cent over the past 11 years and handguns were the most commonly used weapon in such crimes, a report from Statistics Canada has found, but it warns there are large data gaps in information collection.

… The proportion of homicides where a firearm was used rose from 26 per cent in 2013 to 37 per cent in 2020, it said. Handguns were the weapon of choice in 59 per cent of the firearm crimes, it added.

“Firearm-related violent crime typically represents less than three per cent of police-reported violent crime in Canada,” said the report.
