They then allegedly carried three firearms, three pipe bombs and a homemade “tennis ball bomb” as they walked toward the footbridge and began shooting at the Chanukah by the Sea gathering.

Greta Thunberg has been arrested in central London at a demonstration in support of Palestine Action.

The Prisoners for Palestine protest group confirmed the climate activist had been arrested at a protest in support of the Palestine Action members on hunger strike in prison.

“It’s been an incredibly difficult two years,” says Phil Rosenberg, president of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. “I think our Jewish identity is being worn far more heavily these days given the pain of it all.”

Conflict in the Middle East has, he says, had a profound impact on British Jewish society.

Imagine if Jews across Canada were marching into Muslim neighbourhoods blaming them for the thousands of deaths caused by Hamas and other Islamist terrorist groups in Israel and around the world.

Imagine if our excuse was that we had nothing against Muslims, only Muslims who are terrorists.

Foreign journalists in Israel are upset. Israel has prevented them from entering the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war, which began with the Hamas-led invasion of Israel on October 7, 2023. A spokesman for the Foreign Press Association in Israel recently urged authorities to “lift restrictions without delay, allowing all journalists to work securely and without fear or hesitation” in the Gaza Strip.

Before the war, the journalists now complaining that Israel is not allowing them to enter Gaza were able to visit there anytime they liked.

Activists first to be detained under new police crackdown on such slogans

A pair of protesters who called for an “intifada” were arrested at a pro-Palestine protest on Wednesday evening.

The two demonstrators were the first to be detained after two of the country’s top police officers announced a crackdown on such chants after the Bondi Beach massacre.

They were arrested at a Palestine Coalition demonstration in central London along with another protester who attempted to obstruct their arrests.

The streaming platform Disney+ has been accused of politicising its Christmas publicity campaign by including a pro-Palestine symbol in its adverts.
