Israel mulls response to ‘non-starter’ Hamas truce proposal

The Israeli government will discuss on Wednesday the country’s official response to a draft ceasefire proposal from Hamas that Israeli officials have called a “non-starter.”

The Hamas draft document, submitted on Tuesday in response to a proposal negotiated last month in Paris, would see the phased release of the remaining 136 captives being held by the terror group, 31 of whom are dead, according to Israel. Another 20 hostages may also be deceased, according to an internal Israeli report seen by The New York Times.

Rahim Mohamed: Selina Robinson’s ouster shows NDP has no place for Jews who don’t submit

Former British Columbia post-secondary education minister Selina Robinson could not have imagined that when she called what would become Israel in 1948 a “crappy piece of land with nothing on it” in a late January Zoom panel, she’d be setting off an ugly chain of events leading to her departure from Premier David Eby’s cabinet. Her comments were hardly a lie, if impolite, but Robison had made herself a target with the NDP simply for being a Jew who supports Israel.

The United Nations’ Goebbels Maneuver

Joseph Goebbels, who from 1933 to 1945 served first as the chief propagandist for the Nazi Party, then as Reich Minister of Propaganda, was undeniably an evil man. Yet it’s equally undeniable that he was good at his job. Running the Nazi propaganda machine was a task that required a detailed understanding of the nuances of human behavior. Specifically, he knew, and put to deadly purposes the psychological power of blame shifting. He is quoted as summarizing his theory by saying that the goal was to “Accuse the other of that you are guilty.”

NHL criticized for hiring anti-Israel anthem singer Kiana Ledé for all-star game in Toronto

The National Hockey League is facing public backlash after it invited R&B singer Kiana Ledé to perform the American national anthem at the all-star game in Toronto this weekend after she previously warned her fans, “if you’re a Zionist … feel free to stay your ass at home.”

I am having a hard time believing this was an accident.

Anti-Judaism becomes a protected characteristic

Appallingly, a British employment tribunal has ruled that anti-Zionism — the contemporary iteration of antisemitism — is a “protected characteristic” that must therefore be given special protection in law.

Sociology professor Dr David Miller was fired by Bristol university in 2021 after a series of virulent ant-Zionist and antisemitic statements which had made Jewish students on campus feel “uncomfortable and intimidated”.

In a ruling handed down yesterday by Judge Rohan Pirani (also discussed here), the Bristol employment tribunal ruled that Miller’s anti-Zionist beliefs qualified as a “philosophical belief” and thus a “protected characteristic” under the Equality Act 2010. It found that because of these beliefs, Miller was subject to direct discrimination when the university fired him and he was unjustly dismissed.

New York Times: Nearly one quarter of the hostages are dead

The New York Times reported today (Tuesday) that Israeli intelligence believes that more than nearly one-quarter of the hostages who were kidnapped during the Hamas massacre of October 7 and are still being held captive in Gaza are dead.

According to the report, the Israeli intelligence officials estimate that 32 of the 136 hostages who remain in Hamas custody have died, leaving just 104 still alive. This is a higher death toll among the hostages than has previously been discussed.

An additional 20 hostages may also be dead, though this is still under investigation.

The State Of Play In The UK

Mauser sent along the Flag link above. It is an excerpt of a much longer video (below). The videographer was late to the flag wavers arrest, but as explained the arrestee apparently ran through the crowd of Hamas supporters waving the English national flag and that triggered them. Hence his arrest. Worth watching the whole video for a slice of life in Liverpool.

The left’s grotesque betrayal of Jewish women

Remember when it was rapists who weren’t welcome in Hollywood? Now it’s people who oppose rape. Witness the fury that swirled around Gwyneth Paltrow when she posted an Instagram story saying: ‘Rape is not resistance or freedom-fighting.’ She was referring to Hamas’s use of sexual violence as a weapon against the women of southern Israel during its pogrom of 7 October. And for that – for humbly suggesting that it was wicked of the marauding misogynists of Hamas to visit such sexual horrors on Israeli women – she’s been branded scum.

Two states, one for Jews, one for terrorists

How sweetly this is working out for Yahya Sinwar and the rest of them who run Hamas.

Not for them the disgrace of defeat when this is all over. Not for them anything like Japan’s ceremonial surrender aboard the battleship Missouri, MacArthur seeing to it that the Japanese delegation, heads bowed, signed all the papers to signify their formal humiliation and capitulation.

The Hamas terrorists have no such worries. For what they did Oct. 7, they are not being punished.

Biden’s ‘Two-State Solution’ To Reward Palestinian Terrorism, Destroy Israel

In the span of two days, both the US administration and the British government came out with similar statements that they are considering recognizing a Palestinian state. The statements send a message to the Iran-backed Hamas terrorist group and other Palestinians that the Americans and British want to give them a prize for the October 7 attack on Israel in which 1,200 Israelis were murdered, decapitated, raped, tortured and burned alive.
