Strikes on Houthi targets in Yemen could undermine US aim to contain war

It is time to stop talking about the risk that the war in Gaza will spread elsewhere in the Middle East. It has already happened.

Hopes for containing what is happening rest on the fact that it is still relatively low-level, compared to the worst-case scenarios of regional war.

The US and British attacks on the Houthis in Yemen are not just, as ministers in London have suggested, about the freedom of navigation and world trade.

They are directly linked to events in Gaza and represent an escalation of the crisis that is gripping the region.

Toronto synagogues reportedly turned down for federal security dollars

OTTAWA – Some Toronto-area synagogues are finding themselves shut out of a federal program meant to fund security measures for targets of hate crimes, despite a worrying spike in antisemitism in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas terror attacks in Israel.

The allegations are contained within a letter sent Wednesday to Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc from Conservative party deputy leader Melissa Lantsman — calling on the federal government to put their money where their mouth is on protecting Canada’s Jewish communities.

The Return Of Laith Marouf: Terror TV Station Established in Canada, Supported by U.S. and European Radicals

Background – Federal government still hasn’t managed to collect Laith Marouf’s revoked grant

A television station established by a global coalition of terror activists is operating and fundraising in Canada, assisted by a global coalition of radical activists and violent extremists from designated terrorist organizations.

Established in the wake of the October 7th attacks, Free Palestine TV (FPTV) offers a steady diet of Hamas and Hezbollah propaganda. Its broadcasts are consistently extreme, and its social media channels comprise video clips of terrorist acts and propaganda messaging provided directly by terror groups, as well as posts glorifying the killing of Israelis.

Avi Lewis: Canada has a moral obligation to support South Africa’s genocide case against Israel

Avi Lewis is a filmmaker, associate professor at the University of British Columbia, and member of the Jewish Faculty Network and Independent Jewish Voices.

In the dying days of 2023, a group of prominent Israelis sent a letter to Israel’s Attorney General.

In 11 pages, it documented “extensive and blatant” cases of incitement to genocide in Gaza from Israel’s political and media class. And it demanded that the country’s judiciary do something to stop it.

Is Avi dumb or what?

Toronto police lay ‘unprecedented’ hate crime charge, say man allegedly held ‘terrorist flag’ at protest

Al Quds Day – Queen’s Park Toronto

A Toronto man has been charged with public incitement of hatred after police allege he held a “terrorist flag” during a demonstration last weekend.

Police say the 41-year-old man allegedly waved a flag of “an organization listed as a terrorist group by Public Safety Canada” while marching through the city’s downtown on Sunday.

Speaking at a Toronto Police Services Board meeting Thursday, police Chief Myron Demkiw called the charge “unprecedented,” noting the “very high threshold” to charge anyone with a hate propaganda offence.

I asked a TPS officer one Al Quds Day if waving the Hezbollah flag met the hate crime threshhold. He responded it did not as it was a matter of “Free Speech.”

Is Qatar, That Built Hamas’s Empire of Terrorism, An Honest Broker?

The Biden administration is evidently continuing to pretend that Qatar, the Gulf state that funds and sponsors Hamas, is an honest broker in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Qatar, in addition to the billions of dollars it has been pouring on Hamas, is still hosting several leaders of Hamas, the Palestinian Islamist terror group, whose members, on October 7, 2023, beheaded, raped, tortured, burned alive more than 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped hundreds more.

Not only is Qatar far from being a neutral mediator, it is massively biased in favor of Hamas and other Islamist terror groups, including Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Shiite militias in Iraq and Syria.

Took long enough.

Israel officials support Gaza destruction, court hears

Israel’s plan to “destroy” Gaza comes from “the highest level of state”, the UN’s top court has heard.

The claims were made by South African lawyers as it presented its case accusing Israel of genocide at the International Court of Justice.

South Africa also called on the court to order Israel to cease military operations in Gaza.

Israel – which will present its defence on Friday – has vehemently rejected the accusations as “baseless”.

Destroy Gaza? Sounds like a good idea.

Liberal MPs split over Israel genocide court case while government stays silent

Liberal members of Parliament are divided about the position Canada should take on South Africa’s push to have Israel prosecuted for genocide for its war in Gaza, as the Trudeau government stays mum.

The International Court of Justice will start hearing a case Thursday in which South Africa argues that Israel’s widespread bombardment of Gaza and siege on the Palestinians living there “are genocidal in character.”

I have long maintained that “Official Support” for Israel by the LPC was an inch deep.

Jewish groups call on Ontario government to halt overpass demonstrations

OTTAWA – Jewish groups in Ontario are calling on the province to end hateful and intimidating protests they say are targeting Toronto’s largest Jewish neighbourhoods.

An appeal spearheaded by the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) is asking Queen’s Park and Ontario Attorney General Doug Downey to take action, urging politicians at all levels to end the protests before somebody gets hurt, or worse.

Not gonna happen.

“Allegations Of Hamas Sexual Abuse”

Justin Trudeau responds to calls for probe into allegations of sexual assault by Hamas

OTTAWA — Calls by women from across the political spectrum for Canada to play a role in investigating Hamas’s use of sexual violence in its Oct. 7 attacks on Israel are finally being answered.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has ordered two key cabinet ministers to look into exactly how Canada could support a request from former Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne, former deputy Conservative leader Lisa Raitt and others to commit $1 million to support victims and survivors, and send the RCMP to Israel to aid in investigations.

Allegations? Trudeau craves the Muslim vote he won’t do a damn thing.
