John Ivison: The Canadian university teacher facing firing for daring to denounce Hamas

As anyone who uses social media knows, anger erodes our self-control and makes us do things we often later regret.

Paul Finlayson can certainly relate to that, after responding to a post on LinkedIn last month.

The 59-year-old marketing lecturer at the University of Guelph-Humber came across a post from an educator in Pakistan, who was using what Finlayson considered genocidal language about the conflict in Gaza, by calling for a Palestinian state “from the river to the sea.”

Elite college students have infuriated their elders before

Just over ninety years ago, the Oxford Union carried the motion ‘That this House will in no circumstances fight for its King and Country’

A striking generation gap in the western world has been revealed by the responses to the October 7 atrocities in Israel. Noting in these pages the surge in pro-Palestinian sentiment among young people on both sides of the Atlantic, my old friend Douglas Murray worries that “When it comes to Palestine, the kids aren’t all right.”

Murray is correct to say that something has changed. He is also correct that it is mainly a phenomenon in the English-speaking world. In the US and the UK, young people are far less well-disposed towards Israel than a decade ago.

Michigan imam is seen on video praising jihad and blaming the US for the ‘genocide in Palestine’

A Michigan imam sparked outrage after sharing an incendiary rant on social media calling for Muslims to embrace ‘Jihad’ – and ‘brush off’ anyone who brands their words extremist.

Ahmad Musa Jibril, an Islamic scholar, told supporters a clip shared to X they were falsely following a version of ‘American-Zionist Islam’ that ‘suits the enemies’, and currently ‘there is a holy war in Islam – it is Jihad’.

‘This may be a surprise to many who grew up in the West, especially those who were born or grew up post 9/11, because of the growing number of hypocrites who are spreading the American-Zionist Islam,’ he said.

One day mass deportations will be accepted as the humane choice.

IDF troops accidentally kill three Israel hostages kidnapped by Hamas after mistaking them for terrorists

Yotam Haim and Samer Talalka

Israeli troops accidentally killed three hostages they mistook for terrorists during fierce fighting in Gaza, the IDF admitted tonight.

The captured Israelis, who were abducted on October 7, were shot at as the during the neighbourhood of Shejaiya in Gaza city after members of the IDF mistook them as a ‘threat’.

The IDF has named two of the hostages – Yotam Haim, who was abducted by Hamas from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, and Samer Talalka, who was abducted from Kibbutz Nir Am on October 7.

Hundreds of protesters swarm Trudeau event in Vancouver to call for end to military support for Israel

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators gathered outside the downtown Vancouver hotel where Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was speaking Thursday night to pressure him to cut off Canadian military support for Israel.

Dozens of demonstrators lay under white sheets outside the Westin Bayshore hotel in Coal Harbour, where Trudeau was speaking at a private Liberal Party fundraiser.

Does anyone know what if any data exists on the number of Zionist vs. Anti-Zionist Jews in the Canadian or North American diaspora?

It may be difficult to suss that info out of a poll as I am certain a lot of “I support Israel’s right to exist but” positions exist. For example I support Israel but only if a two state solution or the right of return is implemented or if it’s relocated to Madagascar etc etc etc.

It’s not a stretch to expect the LPC, NDP, and Greens officially ceasing all of their inch deep support for Israel and doing away with their current two faced BS.  The Mohammedans must be appeased.

Pro-Hamas protesters are sanctimonious psychopaths

Hamas Support Rally Toronto

The bloodthirsty desires and doctrines motivating intolerable behaviors must be identified and rejected outright

We are now exposed to the truly appalling spectacle of widespread demonstrations across the West supporting – explicitly or implicitly – the terrorists of Hamas. Some of the most shocking scenes unfolded in London, a city often held up as a beacon of immigration-fueled multiculturalism – one that has now seemingly lost its shine.

Georgia teacher accused of threatening to kill student who disliked his Israeli flag, police say

Benjamin Reese’s arrest at the middle school named after the town of Warner Robins occurred on after a student approached and told him she was offended by the Israeli flag hanging in his classroom, the local news station WMAZ reported, citing a police account of the case.

Reese, a seventh-grade social studies teacher, allegedly replied that he was a Jew and had relatives who lived in Israel. The student said “Israelis killing Palestinians” made the flag offensive, which prompted Reese to accuse her of being antisemitic.

WMAZ reported that several different witnesses then heard Reese, 51, say he would “kick [the] student’s fucking ass, slit her goddamn throat … drag her ass outside and cut her head off”.

Well that was inevitable.

And this below is just who knows. Did anyone expect to see single women engaging in this sort of behavior?

Palestinian envoy in Ottawa praises Canada’s UN vote for ceasefire, seeks more action

OTTAWA – The Palestinian ambassador in Ottawa is praising Canada’s vote at the United Nations for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, while urging the Canadian government to do more to stop Israel’s military campaign.

Mona Abuamara, the chief representative of the Palestinian General Delegation to Canada, says Ottawa could act as a catalyst and inspire other countries to push for a peaceful two-state solution that would include a Palestinian country.

The Left’s Discomfort with Israel’s War on Hamas Doesn’t Matter

The Biden administration should ignore progressive dissenters and hold fast in its support of the Jewish state

In a revealing admission reflective of progressive activists’ discomfort with the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s defensive war, Vice President Kamala Harris quietly conveyed the ickiness that has overtaken the American Left.

Iran Sponsored the October 7 Massacre. America Paid for It.

A chronicle of the Biden administration’s increasingly absurd attempts to hide its complicity in the worst mass killing of Jews since the Holocaust

It may strike some observers as curious, and others as unimaginably evil, that only weeks after Hamas slaughtered over 1,200 Israelis on Oct. 7, the Biden administration awarded sanctions waivers worth $10 billion to Iran, the primary external sponsor of those attacks. The waiver, which allows Iran to collect money from the sale of electricity to Iraq, an arrangement that further deepens Iranian control of that country, came with an added bonus: Iran would be allowed to convert the funds into euros which it could spend immediately, without the usual requirement that the money remain in escrow inside Iraq. The prospect that Iran might immediately spend the money it receives on continuing to target U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria doesn’t appear to have disrupted the deal, either.

Michael Higgins: Canada dangerously naive for backing pro-Hamas UN motion

The United Nations has long been sliding into irrelevancy, but it’s a great pity that Canada has decided its foreign policy can go along for the ride.

On Tuesday, Canada supported a UN general assembly vote that called for an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in the Israeli-Hamas war.

Cheer on Academia Burning Itself Down

Never interrupt your enemy when he/she/they/xe/zorp is making a mistake, and the Ivy Leagues are making a huge one. Talk about getting high on your own supply – for the last few decades, our allegedly prestigious universities have been dealing out highly addictive nonsense to their students, and it looks like they huffed a big rail of it. How else could you explain having three university poohbahs sit there on camera in front of Congress and be unable – or, more likely, unwilling – to say that cheering on Jewish genocide is bad?

GOLDSTEIN: Jews don’t count at UN and this time Canada agreed

Only at the United Nations — and only about Israel — would the UN General Assembly call for a “ceasefire” in a war while disgracefully avoiding any mention of who and what started it.

Twice now — on Tuesday in passing a resolution calling for a “humanitarian ceasefire” in the Israel/Hamas war in Gaza — and back on Oct. 26 when it called for a “humanitarian truce” — the General Assembly deliberately avoided assigning any responsibility for the conflict to Hamas.
