Doctor says focus on synagogue attack is sign of ‘Jewish supremacy’

A doctor has claimed the decision to temporarily restrict access to A&E services in Manchester to prioritise victims from the Manchester synagogue attack is evidence of “exceptionalism for Jews”.

Dr Rahmeh Aladwan, a trauma and orthopaedics doctor of British-Palestinian descent, also shared posts on her social media that suggested the media’s focus on the terror attack was an example of “Jewish supremacism”.

Manchester synagogue attacker is a new breed of jihadi

Yesterday’s attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Manchester, which was rapidly declared a terrorist incident by the police, had all the outward signs of a jihadi attack. The perpetrator, Jihad Al-Shamie, rammed a vehicle into pedestrians before launching a marauding knife rampage. Two worshippers were killed, and three others were seriously injured, though the picture has now been complicated by reports that one of the victims died after being accidentally shot by armed police. Al-Shamie was wearing a fake suicide belt and very likely intended to die in the attack, knowing that the police wouldn’t take any chances once they saw it. As it happened, he was right.

CAIR Says Muslims Have Right to Vandalize Christian Churches

Muslims vandalized the Uncommon Church in Euless TX with obscene anti-Israel graffiti. Leftists and the Islamist group CAIR quickly came to their defense, complaining that vandalizing churches is really protected by the First Amendment.

After Raunaq Alam, Afsheen Khan and Julia Venzor vandalized the church, the Dallas Observer claimed that prosecuting them “erodes the First Amendment rights of protesters and critics of the nation of Israel.”

Conrad Black: A momentous peace in the Middle East will soon be upon us

Because of the swirling cross-currents of Middle Eastern affairs and the tumultuous state of international relations with two long-standing wars raging in Europe and the Middle East, it is easy not to notice the great achievement of the comprehensive Gaza peace plan now under intense consideration by the parties. Finally, and chiefly by the efforts of the much- reviled president of the United States, all of the powers, and all of the principal Muslim countries except the defeated and despised, belligerent, pseudo-theocracy of Iran, have been united on a plan that unambiguously recognizes the right of Israel to exist and flourish as a Jewish state, and requires the complete demilitarization of Gaza and the expulsion from any political influence of the Hamas terrorist organization.

I do not think lasting peace is possible in the ME.

Police make 355 arrests at pro-Palestinian protest in London

At least 355 people have been arrested in central London during protests in support of the proscribed group Palestine Action the Metropolitan Police has said.

Organisers Defend Our Juries said around 1,000 took part in demonstrations backing Palestine Action – a group which was proscribed by the government in July making it illegal to show any support or affiliation to them.

Demonstrations went ahead despite calls from ministers and police who called for protests to be postponed following Thursday’s deadly synagogue attack in Manchester.

Shock in Gaza as Trump appears to welcome Hamas response to US peace plan

People in Gaza have reacted with shock after US President Donald Trump appeared to welcome Hamas’s response to his peace plan for the territory.

Hundreds of Palestinians flooded my social media accounts and messaging apps with questions like: “Has the war ended?” and “Is this a dream or reality?”

The pace of developments overnight has left many struggling to grasp what comes next.

The movement’s carefully crafted statement – thought to have been drafted with the help of mediators – stopped short of outright rejection and instead offered a qualified “yes”

Students sue TMU, allege university defamed them by labelling Palestine support letter as antisemitic

A group of current and former Toronto Metropolitan University law students who signed a controversial letter expressing unequivocal support for Palestinians after the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians has filed a lawsuit against the university.

The statement of claim, which has not been tested in court, alleges TMU defamed the signatories by publicly condemning the letter as antisemitic and intolerant.

Manchester synagogue attack is the price of normalising antisemitism

As I sit in synagogue this Yom Kippur, the holiest day in our calendar, my heart is heavy with fear and sadness. The sanctuary, usually a place of solace and reflection, now feels like a fragile bubble in a world increasingly hostile to Jews. Today, once again, that bubble was violently pierced.

Trump gives Hamas Sunday deadline to accept Gaza peace plan

US President Donald Trump has given Hamas a deadline to accept a US peace plan for Gaza or face “all hell”.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform on Friday that an agreement must be reached by 18:00 Washington time (22:00 GMT) on Sunday.

The plan proposes an immediate end to fighting and the release within 72 hours of 20 living Israeli hostages held by Hamas – as well as the remains of hostages thought to be dead – in exchange for hundreds of detained Gazans.

Manchester synagogue attack: one victim apparently shot dead by police

One of the victims killed at the Manchester synagogue attack appears to have been shot dead by armed police officers.

In a statement, the Greater Manchester police chief constable, Sir Stephen Watson, said the Home Office pathologist had provisionally determined that the man had died of a gunshot wound.

The suspect, Jihad al-Shamie, did not have a firearm and the only shots fired were by the police officers at the scene. It is believed that the victim was among those behind the synagogue door seeking to prevent the attacker from gaining entry.

Update – British police may have shot 2 of the Manchester synagogue attack victims, one fatally, officials say

Israeli envoy says communications with Ottawa have ’deteriorated’ under Carney

Carney speaks at a Muslim Brotherhood function

OTTAWA — Israel’s envoy to Canada says dialogue between his government and Ottawa has “deteriorated” since Prime Minister Mark Carney took office — and suggests his “hard line” on Gaza explains why Carney still hasn’t spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“Since the government of Carney came into place, the level of dialogue between the two countries slowly but surely deteriorated,” Israel Ambassador Iddo Moed told The Canadian Press on Monday.

Hamas military leader in Gaza objects to ceasefire plan, BBC understands

The BBC understands that mediators have made contact with the head of Hamas’s military wing in Gaza, who indicated he does not agree to new US ceasefire plan.

Izz al-Din al-Haddad is thought to believe the plan was designed to finish Hamas, whether the group accepts it or not, and so is determined to fight on.

US President Donald Trump’s 20-point framework to end the war – which has already been accepted by Israel – stipulates that Hamas disarm and have no future role in governing Gaza.

I’m shocked.
