Barbara Kay: The insidious hatred that spawned the Holocaust and Hamas’ latest pogrom

From Anne Frank’s iconic “Diary of a Young Girl,” one quotation is especially prized: “It’s a wonder I haven’t abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical,” she wrote. “Yet I cling to them because I still believe, in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.” It’s a sweet sentiment, but wishful thinking, written before her exposure to the horrors of Bergen-Belsen, the concentration camp where she died.

We shouldn’t be scared to call Hamas what it is

Terrorists. Terrorists. Terrorists.

Sadly, it does bear repeating apparently, to call Hamas what it is. Already — actually within hours — the barbaric and terrorist incursion into Israel a fortnight ago, the butchery of men, women, babies and the elderly, has been transformed into an act of justifiable resistance to the occupation of Gaza.

In Canada, as in the United Kingdom and the United States, there should be no trembly caution about using the term “terrorist” because Hamas has been formally deemed a terrorist group.

Met Police officers ‘frustrated’ by inability to make arrests at pro-Palestinian rally

Source said rank-and-files were told to have ‘zero tolerance’ of hate crimes but ‘you are part of the collective, rather than an individual’

Metropolitan Police officers who watched as pro-Palestinian protesters called for jihad during a London rally were “frustrated” they were unable to step in, it has been claimed.

The Home Secretary and Sir Mark Rowley, met on Monday after Suella Braverman demanded police use “the full force of the law” to tackle demonstrators committing criminal offences.

A video of a Hizb ut-Tahrir protest surfaced over the weekend, where a member of the crowd could be heard chanting words including “jihad, jihad”.

Politicians condemn protest at Jewish-owned business as police monitor demonstrations

OTTAWA – Toronto police say they are aware of a demonstration that happened this weekend in front of a Jewish-owned business, but no one has filed a report with them.

FIRST READING: How Canada spent millions pushing an ideology used to frame Jews as oppressors

The doctrine of ‘anti-racism,’ now mandatory across the federal civil service, holds that Jews have “become white” to benefit from white supremacy

Hamas terrorists were still in the process of pulling Israeli civilians from their homes and executing them when McMaster University associate professor Ameil Joseph wrote on X.com that “postcolonial, anticolonial, and decolonial are not just words you heard in your DEI workshop.”

DEI refers to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, an ideology touting anti-racism and decolonization that has come to define massive swaths of Canadian academia in recent years. And Joseph was far from the only Canadian academic to excuse the mass-murder of more than 1,000 people using words from a DEI glossary.

Why are so many young people anti-Semitic?

Hamas Support Rally Toronto

The surest way to work up a crusade in favour of some good cause is to promise people they will have a chance of maltreating someone. To be able to destroy with good conscience, to be able to behave badly and call your bad behaviour ‘righteous indignation’ – this is the height of psychological luxury, the most delicious of moral treats.

Premonitions: Remembering a 1988 meeting with the founder of Hamas

I visited Sheikh Yassin, the founder of Hamas, one desolate rainy morning during the first Intifada. I was a writer for Time, and on that day, Jamil Hamad, Time’s Palestinian stringer, drove me down to Gaza from my hotel in East Jerusalem.

On the Nablus Road, we passed the shell of a burnt-out Israeli school bus. Jamil’s car had blue Palestinian license plates and a big sign in the windshield that said PRESS. He spread a checkered black-and-white Palestinian kaffiyeh on the dashboard, just to make sure, but the shebab (young Palestinians) threw stones at us anyway. They did it satirically—their rough little joke. We ducked and flinched and laughed at them and waved. The boys had good arms. I told Jamil the Yankees could recruit pitchers here.

Who Says Hamas Does Not Represent The Palestinians?

In a number of statements since Hamas’s October 7 massacre in Israel, US President Joe Biden stated that Hamas does not represent all the Palestinian people. “I think Israel understands that a significant portion of Palestinian people do not share the views of Hamas and Hezbollah,” Biden said in an interview with CBS.

Biden’s claim was repeated by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who told Jordan’s King Abdullah and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas that Hamas does not represent the Palestinian people. In a phone call with Abbas, Blinken “expressed continuing US support for the Palestinian people, stressing that Hamas terrorists do not represent Palestinians or their legitimate aspirations for self-determination and equal measures of dignity, freedom, security, and justice,” according to a State Department readout.

Mark Rowley tells Braverman it’s not his job to make law after criticism of ‘jihad’ protest policing

Sir Mark Rowley has called for changes in the law around policing extremism as he said officers cannot be expected to “enforce taste and decency”.

In the Metropolitan Police commissioner’s first comments following criticism of officers’ failure to intervene when pro-Palestine protesters chanted “jihad”, Sir Mark warned there were gaps in the law that meant extremist groups were able to steer around laws and propagate “some pretty toxic messages”.

Checks all NDP boxes, Black, female, disabled, hates Jews

TORONTO — Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles says she has removed rookie legislator Sarah Jama from caucus.

Stiles says the member for Hamilton Centre, who has been under fire for comments about the Israel-Hamas conflict, made what Stiles calls “a number of unilateral actions” that have undermined the party’s collective work and broken the trust of her colleagues.

The Day the Delusions Died

… We woke up on October 8 to the clamor of street protests in cities across the West condemning Israel even before any major Israeli response to the attacks. We watched celebratory crowds brandish swastikas and chant “gas the Jews” at events purporting to be about the loss of Palestinian lives. We saw Black Lives Matter chapters lionize terrorists.

In London, where I live, we watched the mayor deliver glib assurances that “London’s diversity is our greatest strength” in the midst of a wave of antisemitic attacks, and as Jewish schools were forced to close because of safety concerns.

Across the West, we noticed that our representatives refused to condemn Hamas’s kidnappings, and that the legacy media was all too eager to swallow and regurgitate Hamas propaganda.

For 17 years this blog has served as a minor record of the destruction our elites have visited upon Canada and western civilization in general through the mass import of Islamists.

Some who happily demonized those that dared point out Islam’s incompatibility with our culture and values are suddenly appalled to witness “Canadian” Muslims openly celebrating the  murder of Israeli men, women and children.

But only some are appalled most of their kind dance in delight at the slaughter.

Our politicos of all stripes enabled this hate to fester within Canadian society, they protected and nurtured its growth and criminalized citizens who spoke against the madness.

And all for our latter day 30 pieces of silver, votes.

Sadly those responsible for inviting this evil to our shores lack the remorse of Judas.

NYTimes Editors’ Note: We uh, were kinda vague & left a bunch of stuff out and went straight to blaming the Jews in our initial Gaza Hospital Coverage

Editors’ Note: Gaza Hospital Coverage

On Oct. 17, The New York Times published news of an explosion at a hospital in Gaza City, leading its coverage with claims by Hamas government officials that an Israeli airstrike was the cause and that hundreds of people were dead or injured. The report included a large headline at the top of The Times’s website.

Israel subsequently denied being at fault and blamed an errant rocket launch by the Palestinian faction group Islamic Jihad, which has in turn denied responsibility. American and other international officials have said their evidence indicates that the rocket came from Palestinian fighter positions.
