Arresting Netanyahu in UK would be unlawful, warns shadow attorney general and lawyers

Netanyahu Gallant Poster Tehran

Arresting Benjamin Netanyahu would be unlawful, the shadow attorney general and two of Britain’s leading lawyers have warned.

Lord Wolfson KC, the shadow attorney general, has written to his Government counterpart, Lord Hermer KC, saying the UK would be in breach of international law if the Government sought to enact the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) arrest warrant for the Israeli leader if he came to the UK.

His view that UK laws give the Israeli prime minister immunity from being arrested was backed by Prof Richard Ekins, a professor of law and constitutional government at Oxford University, and Lord Verdirame KC, a specialist in public international law.

More on Those ‘Pro-Hamas Terror Mobs’ In Montreal

Not Richler’s St -Urbain St.

Three people were arrested after pro-Palestinian, anti-NATO protesters smashed windows, clashed with police officers, and set vehicles ablaze on Friday evening.

The protest coincided with the arrival of approximately 300 delegates from NATO member states and partner countries attending a high-level summit, running from Nov. 22 to 25 in Montreal, focused on Ukraine, climate change, and the alliance’s future. The protest also came as the second day of the wave of student-wide pro-Palestinian protests across Montreal.

Saying Canadian Union of Postal Workers supports Hamas was not libel, Ontario court rules

An Ontario court has sided with media commentators who suggested the Canadian Union of Postal Workers was a terrorist sympathizer for participating in a protest a decade ago in Ottawa that featured a Hamas flag.

“Their belief that CUPW supports Hamas, a terrorist organisation, is, in my view, honestly held based on proven facts. It does not have to be a reasonable belief. But it must be an honest one,” concluded Justice Graeme Mew of the Superior Court of Ontario.

Winning hearts and minds to support that strike may be harder than it looks.

UK: Police accused of ‘turning blind eye’ to anti-Semitism to pursue ‘nonsense’

Police chiefs have “turned a blind eye” or even “looked for reasons” not to pursue charges against anti-Semites and instead spent their time investigating “nonsense”, a charity boss has said.

Gideon Falter, chief executive of the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism (CAAS), said that in the past year his charity had launched half a dozen private prosecutions in cases where the police refused to act.

He said since October 7 2023 – when Hamas terrorists invaded Israel and massacred over 1,200 people – there has been an explosion in anti-Jewish hatred, but police were routinely declining to pass cases on to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS).

Sounds familiar.

Fire Trudeau for backing arrest of Netanyahu, says Canada opposition leader

The head of Canada’s opposition has called for Justin Trudeau to be fired for saying his government would abide by an international arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister.

Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, which will take on Mr Trudeau’s Liberals in next year’s election, criticised Canadian premier for his “extreme” views.

“He’s interested in arresting the leader of a democratically-elected government, the state of Israel, which has been besieged by terrorists and foreign tyrants attacking its land,” Mr Poiliever said in a radio interview in Canada.

Muslims and leftists are rampaging against Israel…in Montreal

Around 2,500 years ago, Aesop (c. 620-564 BC) wrote short fables that pithily revealed deep truths. They used to be part of the Western canon but are no longer. And that’s a shame because if more Westerners had been raised on Aesop and knew the story of the Farmer and the Viper, they would not have welcomed in bazillions of Muslims from countries practicing the strictest versions of that faith, they would not have encouraged leftism, and they definitely would not be surprised by the violent anti-Israel rioting in Montreal.

Vivian Bercovici: By backing arrest of Netanyahu, Trudeau aligns with Iran’s terror network

TEL AVIV — In May, 2024, International Criminal Court Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan, K.C., abruptly cancelled a planned trip to Israel. Khan and ICC staff were meant to meet with Israeli officials in government, the military and NGO sectors.

Instead, on the same day he cancelled, Khan appeared before a panel of ICC judges asking them to consider issuing arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, then Minister of Defence Yoav Gallant as well as Hamas senior leaders Yahya Sinwar, Ismail Haniyeh and Mohammed Deif.

Indigo vandalism probe not influenced by Heather Reisman’s calls to Toronto’s top cop, Ontario judge rules — but chief should still explain it

An Ontario judge has found there is “no evidence” the Toronto police investigation into vandalism at an Indigo store was personally influenced by the company’s CEO — but said it’s reasonable to ask the police chief to explain why he twice spoke to Heather Reisman in the incident’s immediate aftermath.

In a decision released this week, Ontario judge Philip Downes shut down a sweeping legal application filed by lawyers for six of the so-called Indigo 11, which sought reams of additional police and financial records in order to mount a Charter challenge of their criminal charges.

Hungary invites Netanyahu to visit as world leaders split over ICC arrest warrant

Hungary’s illiberal prime minister, Viktor Orbán, has said he will invite his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, to visit in defiance of an international criminal court arrest warrant, as world leaders split over the ICC’s momentous decision.

The world’s highest criminal court issued warrants on Thursday for Netanyahu, his former defence minister Yoav Gallant and the Hamas commander Ibrahim al-Masri, commonly known as Mohammed Deif, who is believed to be dead, for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Orbán, whose country holds the rotating EU presidency and who has previously said he would not arrest the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, who is also wanted by the ICC, called the court’s decision “outrageously brazen” and “cynical”.

WARMINGTON: Trudeau saying ICC can arrest Netanyahu is music to Hamas supporters’ ears

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was just putting on the record what was already abundantly clear.

Canada is with Hamas.

The key thing Trudeau did with his declaration that Canada would not stand in the way of the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is send the message to Hamas supporters that they have full backing to do what they want.

Amy Hamm: The West ignored the threat of radical Islam — now Jews are paying the price

Hide your kippahs and hide your rainbows, Germans. Berlin’s chief of police, Barbara Slowik, recently suggested that Jews and gay people should avoid — or hide their identities in — the city’s majority Arab neighbourhoods. It’s simply not safe to be openly Jewish or homosexual in one of Europe’s largest cities. In 2024. Germany is coming undone.

Canada is not faring much better.

In truth Amy we are all suffering because our elites betrayed us by importing a murder cult.

We now have a significant Islamist 5th Column which along with its useful idiots poses a real danger not just to Jews but to all of us.

This threat will require us to make hard choices if we are to survive.
