This group sends Canadians to help the Israeli army. Some say that’s illegal

An organization that sends volunteers from Canada — and other parts of the world — to work on Israeli military bases is facing a renewed legal challenge, alleging its recruiting efforts violate a federal law against inciting Canadians to join a foreign army.

The non-profit group Sar-El says it has recruited more than 40,000 volunteers from over 30 countries since the Israel-Hamas war broke out last year — to provide logistical support to the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), such as packing supplies and cleaning and repairing equipment.

Best line – “They’re tourists who want to help”

They do not officially serve in the IDF or anywhere near the frontlines, they do menial chores that at worst could be argued frees up soldiers for combat.

The usual suspects are appealing the case. I am fatigued at the thought that I recognize their names.

Amy Hamm: Let the terrorists speak, so we know who they are

I am a free speech absolutist. I am glad that Samidoun chanted, “Death to Canada,” and “Death to Israel,” on the steps of the Vancouver Art Gallery, because they unmasked themselves despite the keffiyehs hiding their faces.

I do not believe that Canada — or any country or jurisdiction — should have laws to criminalize speech — at all. So, it would be unprincipled and hypocritical were I to suggest that Canada’s growing population of antisemitic terrorist cheerleaders be told to shut up under threat of arrest and imprisonment.

How Israel and Iran are waging war in the shadows

Tehran appears to be taking espionage lessons from the Mossad spy agency as it attempts to bribe vulnerable Israelis into betraying their country

Israelis have been paid hundreds of thousands of pounds in cryptocurrency by Iran to take photographs of sensitive military sites, according to prosecutors, as evidence grows of a successful espionage operation by Tehran.

The Nevatim airbase, which was hit by Iranian ballistic missiles this month, the Golani training base, where four soldiers died from a Hezbollah drone attack, and batteries of the country’s Iron Dome air defences, were all reconnoitred by alleged Iranian spies.

Carson Jerema: Defund the professors. Every last one

It is offensive that public money — any amount — goes to universities to fund the self-actualization of professional activists masquerading as academics, but that is what is being supported. Too many professors twist and abuse their status to push whatever progressive cause they care about at the moment. It is an unforgivable use of tax dollars.

No one has destroyed the reputation of experts more than the so-called experts themselves, who expect their opinions to be given greater weight because of their credentials, even when they are spouting obvious gibberish.

The Biden – Harris Iran Scandal Gets Worse

The source of last week’s leak of U.S. intelligence about Israel’s plans to strike Iran, which has occasioned an investigation, isn’t yet known. What should be obvious, though, is that no individual who has had extensive contact with Iranian intelligence and diplomatic officials, and who has deferred to the direction of those officials before, should have ever been put in a sensitive position in the first place.

The Biden administration has ignored this rather simple rule.

Moment 2,000lb bomb hits Beirut building in Israeli airstrike

A month after Israel escalated its war against Hezbollah in Lebanon, airstrikes continued to hit Beirut on Tuesday including one 2,000lb bomb which was caught on camera hitting and destroying an apartment building.

A burst of images showed the descent of the bomb before it slammed into the multistorey block in the city’s Ghobeiry neighbourhood, quickly reducing it to rubble.

West’s Political Elites Mourn the Death of a Terrorist Group

It took the world community nearly a year to condemn the war in Lebanon, but they got the wrong mark. Instead of condemning Hezbollah, the world’s largest Iranian proxy terrorist army, with an estimated 40,000 – 50,000 fighters, for starting a year-long war on October 8, 2023 in support of the terrorist organization Hamas, the West’s political “elites” condemned Israel for defending itself by targeting Hezbollah’s leadership.

Pentagon suspects employee of Iranian origin in Israeli strike plan leak – report

The Pentagon has reportedly named Chief of Staff of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations, Ariane Tabatabai, as the prime suspect for an alleged leak of classified documents, Sky News Arabia reported on Tuesday, citing a senior Pentagon official.

Tabatabai, an American of Iranian origin, is also an officer in US Naval Intelligence.

Her name has been bandied about for some time as someone to watch. This deliberate carelessness speaks volumes about the Biden-Harris admin.

Jesse Kline: CBC lets Hamas apologist cheer Sinwar unchallenged

Thirteen years ago, U.S. President Barack Obama stood in front of the world and announced that, “The United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaida and a terrorist who is responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children.” The death of the mastermind of 9/11, nearly 10 years after the attacks took place, was generally well received throughout the western world.

Yahya Sinwar may have ordered Hamas to execute hostages if killed – report

Former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar may have issued an order to execute all remaining Israeli hostages in Gaza if he were to be killed, The Telegraph reported on Tuesday, quoting leading Israeli hostage negotiator Gershon Baskin.

Baskin, who played a key role in the 2011 negotiations that secured the release of Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit in exchange for over 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, including Sinwar himself, described the current situation as “a moment of either opportunity or doom.” He explained that if the rumors are true, the fate of the remaining 101 hostages in Gaza, at least 60 of whom are thought to be alive, could be dire.

Howard Levitt: How Canadians can beat back pro-Hamas hatred

Instead of solemnity over the anniversary of October 7, an event replete with rapes, beheadings and the torture of innocent civilians, the alliance between Islamists and large sections of the Canadian left expressed themselves with jubilation, triumphant announcements, the burning of the Canadian flag and calls for the destruction of Canada, the United States and Israel.

I don’t have the faith the author does in our courts and law enforcement.

The Hamas supporters are not interested in winning hearts and minds they seek to win by intimidation.

It will get much worse if our imbecile politicians continue to import Islamist settlers.
