Gunman who shot Jewish man near Chicago synagogue is illegal migrant who targeted victim in antisemitic attack: sources

The gunman who opened fire on a Jewish man walking to synagogue in Chicago is an illegal migrant from West Africa who was released into the US last year — and he targeted the victim because of his faith, law enforcement sources tell The Post.

Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, 22 — who hails from Mauritania — crossed into San Diego in March 2023 and was screened by border agents, who quickly released him into the US, officials said.

Federal investigators believe Abdallahi was specifically targeting Jews in an antisemitic attack when he ambushed a 39-year-old Orthodox Jewish man in the city’s West Ridge neighborhood — which is home to several synagogues, sources said.

I hope Trump freezes all immigration from Islamist states.

The Biden-Harris Administration, a ‘Ceasefire’ and a Palestinian State

The Biden-Harris administration appears still obsessed with a supposed ceasefire and a Palestinian state.

President William Clinton, and, after him, President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State John Kerry also tried to create a Palestinian state. Now President Joe Biden with Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan seem to be trying to do it again.

Former envoy to Israel tells MPs Canada should recognize Palestinian state now

Canada’s former ambassador to Israel says Canada should recognize the existence of a Palestinian state now as a way to forge a path to peace in the region.

“Recognition of a Palestinian state is not about peace in the region today, or even tomorrow. Few people in Israel or Palestine can focus on two states right now,” said Jon Allen.

“Recognizing a Palestinian state now is about sending a message of hope and commitment to Palestinians and sending a clear message to Israel and others that simply managing the conflict, Israel’s policy for the last 17 years, is not an option and never was.”

Hasn’t that not worked yet?

The Battle of Unrwa: America Could Be Forced To Choose Between Defending Israel or Backing the United Nations.

Who will the next president and Congress side with in a brewing, increasingly hostile battle between the United Nations and Israel?

On Monday the Knesset enacted by a sweeping majority a law that in 90 days will bar the United Nations Relief and Works Agency from operating in Israel, Gaza, and West Bank. The act is raising a global backlash.

The Media Is Implementing Sinwar’s Genocidal Strategy

Following the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, documentary evidence has emerged confirming what many observers already knew: namely, that Sinwar weaponized the death of Gazan civilians, especially women and children.

He understood that the media would emphasize these civilian deaths, attribute them all to Israel, and increase the pressure on the Israeli government to satisfy Hamas’s unreasonable demands. This is how the Wall Street Journal put it, following a lengthy investigation.

When Is the Day After in the Middle East?

After the death of Yahya Sinwar, the choir of blessed peacemakers resumed the refrain for an immediate ceasefire and a plan for “the day after.” Kamala Harris, the lead singer, glanced repeatedly at her politically crafted score that proclaimed, “it is time for the day after to begin without Hamas in power.”

What criteria determine when the day after a war begins? Harris claims it has come because “Hamas is decimated and its leadership is eliminated.” But Hamas has not yet surrendered, and even a significant reduction of military capability may not be sufficient. Sinwar’s younger brother Mohammed, who shares his brother’s hardline stance and brutality, will succeed him. This may only complicate the peace process.

How Israel Pulled Off Its Largest-Ever Strike on Iran

TEL AVIV—Shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday in Israel, airmen and women wearing bomber jackets bearing the Star of David climbed into the cockpits of about 100 jet fighters, spy planes and refueling aircraft at an Israeli military base. They were following commands from an underground bunker known as the pit.

Israel’s wartime leaders, who were gathered in the bowels of the military headquarters in Tel Aviv, had just given the green light for the largest attack against Iran in Israel’s history—and its most politically perilous. They called the operation “Days of Repentance.”

The assault was calibrated to punish Iran for an attack on Israel but aimed to avoid setting off a full-scale war between the two foes involving American forces and other countries in the region. The attack steered clear of the oil and nuclear facilities that Iran had warned would prompt a retaliation, and appeared to heed the caution urged by U.S. officials.

We live under a tyranny of the self-righteous

From the Middle East to climate change, every issue is now a battle between ‘good’ and ‘evil’.

We no longer live in an age of moral relativism, but one of moral absolutism.

That’s one observation made by Canadian academic Eric Kaufmann in his latest book, Taboo, published this year. It’s an arresting inversion of a long-held view. Everyone today does indeed seem to know what is ‘right’ and what is ‘wrong’.

Canada: Antisemitic UN Special Rapporteur to Palestinians to Speak at University of Toronto

Francesca Albanese is infamous for her antisemitism. She has an extensive curriculum vitae, but her official position is “United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories.” Long before the October 7 terror attacks in Israel, she was a part of the UN and media bombardment of propaganda regarding Palestinian victimhood, Zionist oppression, the “occupied territories” and the like. Albanese seized on October 7 with further vitriol against the Jewish state. Her hatred of Israel is so open and virulent that in July 2024, even the anti-Israel UN opened up a probe into allegations that she took funds from pro-Hamas lobby groups. Of course, the UN is unlikely to conduct a full or completely honest investigation into someone who shares its institutional views. Nevertheless, the UN finally did admit that it paid for Albanese’s anti-Israel lobbying trip to Australia and New Zealand. During her visit, Albanese also participated in media and fundraising events, as well as in meetings with pro-Palestinian politicians and civil society members.

Explosions in Iran as Israel launches air strikes

Israel launched multiple air strikes on Iran in the early hours of Saturday, in response to what the Israeli military called “months of continuous attacks” from Tehran and its proxies.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) says Iran has been “relentlessly attacking Israel” since 7 October 2023.

The IDF’s confirmation of strikes on Iran followed earlier reports by Iranian state media of several explosions in and around the capital, Tehran.

Israel delays Iran retaliation after US intelligence leak

Israel has delayed its retaliatory strike against Iran because of a leak last week of potentially sensitive military information from the US.

The leak revealed Israel’s well-advanced plans to respond to a salvo of nearly 200 Iranian ballistic missiles fired against it earlier this month, which was a retaliation by Tehran for Israel’s attacks on its Middle Eastern proxy groups.
