Oppenheimer’s executive producer had to hide because he’s conservative

Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer was one of the best films of 2023, if not the best.

The film had none of the elements that usually make audiences cheer. It had no superheroes, special effects, stunts, or any spectacle. Instead, it was bleak, was partly in black and white, and mostly had people talking in closed rooms.

Yet the film earned $975 million at the global box office and universal acclaim from critics. It won most of the awards, including top prizes at the Oscars for direction, writing, and acting.

Hollywood Shifts as Woke Bombs at the Box Office

This month’s hit movie “Twisters” is full of wonders: pickup trucks take flight, an entire town gets put through nature’s blender. Perhaps most astonishing, however, is what isn’t in it: any mention of climate change.

That wasn’t happenstance. The film’s director, Lee Isaac Chung, said the omission was deliberate. “I just don’t feel like films are meant to be message-oriented,” he told CNN.

‘Rust’ Trials Leave Clues to Mystery of Live Bullets on Set – and a Likely Answer

The manslaughter trials are over, the criminal investigations closed. But the central mystery of who brought live ammunition to the set of “Rust” is no more solved now than it was the day cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was accidentally shot to death by Alec Baldwin on Oct. 21, 2021.

The answer, after two and a half years of scrutiny and two trials with witness testimony, may just be the most obvious one: The armorer did it.

Almost three years after the fatal shooting on the movie set of Rust, prosecutors began to lay out their case against Alec Baldwin in a packed Santa Fe courtroom, painting a picture of an unsafe workplace on a tight budget with a lead actor who violated the “cardinal rules of firearm safety”.

Proceedings in the actor’s involuntary manslaughter trial kicked off on Wednesday with the prosecution and defense offering their opening statements. The courtroom was filled to capacity with dozens of media as well as Baldwin’s wife and brother, who sat just behind the actor.

Baldwin loses last-ditch bid to dismiss manslaughter case

A judge has denied a last-ditch effort by Alec Baldwin to dismiss the involuntary manslaughter charge against him over the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins, 42, on the set of his film Rust.

The move comes two weeks before the actor is set to stand trial in New Mexico for the 2021 shooting that left the cinematographer dead.

New Mexico District Court Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer denied 66-year-old Mr Baldwin’s bid to have the charge dismissed, saying it must be resolved at trial.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

The movie industry that loved Americans and gave them stories they wanted has degenerated into a hateful identity cult.

Once upon a time in Hollywood, the entertainment industry was a magic kingdom. Its wizards gave the people what they wanted — tough, funny, or sensitive heroes, beautiful damsels or dames, and normal, intelligent folk attracted to one another for who they were, not what race, gender, or sexuality they brandished. Whether they dwelt in the savage past, the complex present, or the fantastic future, the characters always behaved believably enough to follow.
