LILLEY: Carney Liberals must wake up and deal with Canada’s growing extortion problem

Earlier this month, the shocking video of a man shooting up a Brampton home while brandishing two pistols was the first time many had heard much about extortion rings.

Yet, in communities across Canada, especially those with a significant Indian immigrant population, extortion has been a rising concern for years now.

Carney wants the criminal alien vote bloc too much to enforce the law.

How many more British girls must be raped before the Left admits the truth about asylum?

Sir Sadiq Khan, our celebrated Mayor of London, says it’s time for “progressives” to “reset the immigration debate”. For too long, he declared at the weekend, this “debate” has been “dictated by the hysteria, hatred and fear-mongering of the far-Right”.

I’m sure we all wish Sir Sadiq the very best of luck in this noble endeavour. Sadly, however, he may find it difficult to overcome a certain unfortunate stumbling block. Which is that, practically every week now, the British public is confronted by yet another report of asylum seekers being convicted for rape.

Sadiq should be deported.

Asylum rulings made without a hearing raise security and fraud concerns, C.D. Howe Institute report says

The federal refugee tribunal’s practice of assessing some asylum claims without first questioning applicants could heighten the risk of fraud and weaken security screening, a report by a former director of policy at the Immigration Department says.

The report, to be published on Thursday by the C.D. Howe Institute, expresses concern that the Immigration and Refugee Board’s assessment of asylum claims from certain countries without hearings removes an important layer of scrutiny.

An access to information request by the report’s author, James Yousif, found that between Jan. 1, 2019 and Feb. 28, 2023, the IRB accepted 24,599 asylum claims into Canada without personally questioning the applicants in hearings.

Our country is run by criminals.

Larry Maher: Weak leadership and lax immigration policy is tearing the fabric of Canadian society

Canada is undergoing a quiet but profound erosion of national cohesion, authority and cultural confidence. At every level of government, political leadership has increasingly substituted ideological appeasement for the basic responsibilities of maintaining social order, enforcing the law and protecting the integrity of Canadian citizenship.

For much of the 20th century, Canada’s immigration model was focused on bringing in the skilled workers and families who wanted to come to build a better life. Newcomers were expected to join a shared national project, not to import unresolved conflicts or establish parallel political identities. Yet over the last decade, that balance has shifted dramatically.

Sweden aims to lower age of criminal responsibility to 13 as gangs recruit children

Sweden is moving forward with plans to lower the age of criminal responsibility from 15 to 13 in serious cases as it grapples with a growing number of children recruited into gangs to carry out violent crimes without facing serious legal repercussions.

Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer said the country was in an “emergency situation” and stopping the use of children in criminal networks was a “crucial task” for the government.

But several authorities, including police, prison officials and prosecutors, have opposed the plan, with some worried that it may lead to even younger children becoming offenders.

CSIS warned immigration posed security risks in secret 1988 memo

Canada’s spy agency warned nearly four decades ago that rising immigration levels could undermine national security, according to a newly released CSIS memo that flagged the immigration stream itself as a growing source of threats.

Blacklock’s Reporter says the six-page, heavily censored 1988 document, obtained through Access to Information, concluded that immigration flows from politically unstable regions were likely to generate security risks for Canada.

Three in four people in the UK are “unwilling or hesitant” to trust someone who has different values or is from a different cultural background, according to a survey.

Distrust “is the new default instinct” in UK society, according to the Edelman Trust Barometer, which examines the trust that people have in business, government, media and non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

Its report revealed a deepening erosion of trust as “grievance has devolved into insularity” across the developed world.
