UK journalists seem hell bent on rehabilitating former ISIS bride Shamima Begum. The BBC has recently produced both a prime-time documentary and a major podcast series on Begum’s story. Last weekend, to promote these two programmes, she also featured as a baseball-capped poster girl on The Times’ Saturday magazine.

It’s the same in Canada, they treat these Mohammedan psychopaths as the victims and expect us to welcome them back with open arms. I hope I’m around to watch their crocodile eat them.

Islamization is a gradual process, but not so gradual that you can’t see it happening.

As Islam continues to gain numbers and power in Western Europe, certain questions take on greater importance. If you’re female or Jewish or gay, for example, and the only local doctor without a full patient list is a Muslim (and given how some nationalized medical systems work, this kind of situation arises not infrequently), do you choose to assume that he doesn’t take his religion’s teachings seriously, or do you move?

A rise in Muslim numbers means a rise in Muslim influence on many fronts. In Norway, there are about 1500 Jews and about 175,000 Muslims. When Jewish parents complain about their kids being beaten by their Muslim classmates – a charge that, if acted upon, can lead to major unrest – how do you expect teachers, principals, cops, and politicians to respond?

Britain’s “politically correct” deradicalisation programme focused on Right-wing extremism while failing to tackle Islamist terror, the Home Secretary has said.

William Shawcross, the review’s author, said Prevent had failed to do enough to counter the dangers from “non-violent Islamist extremism” and had instead broadened the definition of Right-wing extremism to include even mainstream politicians.

He said terrorist attacks had “too often” been committed by Islamist extremists previously referred to the programme because Prevent officials had “failed to understand the danger” they posed and had not dealt “effectively with the lethal risks we actually face”.

Begum repeatedly claims she ‘did not know’ about ISIS atrocities before leaving London and believed it was an Islamic ‘utopia’.

She also insists she did not watch any violent propaganda videos, such as the beheadings of hostages.

‘I didn’t know about these atrocities because as a 15-year-old I didn’t watch the news,’ Begum says.

An evil little liar.

William Shawcross’s long-awaited review of Prevent – the Government’s counter-radicalisation programme – is one of the boldest official documents of recent times. As such, it constitutes a radical reappraisal of a key state policy which has gone seriously off-piste and is in urgent need of rebalancing.

Much of the critique of Prevent has historically come from Islamists – who contend that it singles out Muslims for particular obloquy. For a programme that cost the Home Office a little less than £50 million per annum in 2020-1, Prevent commands a lot of attention.

In his comprehensive ‘anatomy lesson’ published today, Shawcross lays bare in painstaking detail the ways in which Prevent has been faltering – but for a quite different set of reasons from those given by its loudest detractors.

Sir Salman Rushdie, the author, has said he feels lucky to be alive after he was attacked on stage at a literary event in New York last year, speaking for the first time since the incident.

Rushdie said he was beginning to feel better and his “overwhelming feeling is gratitude” that he was not more seriously injured.

In August, the Indian-born British novelist was stabbed an estimated 12 times, including in the face and neck, losing his sight in one eye. He spent six weeks in hospital after the attack.
