The worrying rise of Sharia marriages

Women in unregistered, religious-only marriages have no legal rights or protections.

In Britain today, there are believed to be thousands of women in religious-only marriages who are not recognised as legally married. This means they have no marital rights under the law and have no option of obtaining a civil divorce.

In these mainly Sharia-compliant marriages, the husband has all the power. Indeed, he can divorce his wife simply by saying ‘talaq’ (‘divorce’) to her three times. And just like that, she is left with nothing – she has no legal recourse and no protections. Often, this is the first moment the wife in such unions becomes aware she has no legally recognised marital status. All of this is because, as a 2015 Law Commission report explains, these religious-only marriages (regardless of faith) are considered a ‘non-marriage’ under the law.

MSNBC Host Mehdi Hasan caught out for lie about White on White Crime

MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan declared Twitter’s Community Notes feature a “weapon of the Right” after fact-checking his lie about white-on-white violence in America.

Recently, Hasan responded to a clip from Bill Maher during which the latter criticized uncontrolled crime in Chicago. Hasan found Maher’s comments to be racist. He then tweeted a clip of his “Offensive Tropes” segment where he claimed white-on-white crime stats are almost identical to that of black-on-black.

The global targeting of Christian women for rape and sexual violence, according to a new study, appears to be at an all-time high, especially in the Muslim world.

Open Doors, a human rights organization that tracks the global persecution of Christians, recently published reports examining the role of gender. One of these, “A Web of Forces: The 2023 Gender Report,” ranks nations based on the category of “gender-specific religious persecution” and shows how a victim’s gender shapes their respective persecution.

Islamist antisemitism is flying under the Jewish communal radar

When far-right extremists attacked synagogues in Pittsburgh in 2018 and Poway, Calif., in 2019 with deadly results, these incidents generated the kind of fear among American Jews that had not been felt in living memory. Communities were galvanized into action to better protect Jewish institutions. More than that, these acts of domestic terrorism served to create a sense of genuine alarm about Jewish security in the United States that was felt even among people who rarely, if ever, walked into a house of worship.

But more than a year after another synagogue was attacked in Colleyville, Texas, in January 2022, the very different reaction to that crime is still worth thinking about.

Canada received assurances from Kurdish authorities it can repatriate two more evil ISIS whores from Syria: lawyer

A lawyer representing five Canadians held in a detention camp in northeastern Syria says he’s been given assurances the federal government will repatriate them, but doesn’t know when that will happen.

The two Canadian women and three teenage girls were supposed to board a repatriation flight last month with 14 other Canadians. But they never made it.

The five Canadians went missing for more than 10 days, and later reported being detained and mistreated by their Kurdish guards rather than being transported to the pick-up point at al-Roj camp, according to their lawyers.

Canadians returning from ISIS camps may pose long-term threat, CSIS warns

Canada’s intelligence service warned Thursday about the “security implications” posed by captured ISIS members the government is bringing home from detention camps in Syria.

In its annual report, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service said extremists returning from abroad might not immediately conduct attacks but “in time” may fundraise and recruit.

On October 3, 1980, a bomb went off just outside a synagogue on the rue Copernic in Paris. Several people were killed: a student on a motorbike, an Israeli journalist, a driver, and a caretaker. In addition, 46 people were wounded, many of them seriously. Eventually, over many years, the French authorities, with help from German intelligence as well as Israeli and French agents, tracked down the PFLP operative who left the bomb, a Lebanese sociologist named Hassan Diab. By that time, Diab was living in Canada. With the evidence it had gathered, France asked Canada to extradite Diab in 2008 so he could stand trial. Eleven Mohammedans charged with sexual abuse of teenage girls in Rochdale

Eleven men accused of historic sexual abuse against three teenage girls in Rochdale are to appear in court.

Their combined 103 charges relate to alleged offences against the three girls between 2000 and 2006.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said they were charged in connection with Operation Lytton – an ongoing investigation into historic sex offences against children.

The suspects are due before Manchester and Salford magistrates’ court on Wednesday.

Mohamed Khairullah is all over the news ranting that he was banned from entering Biden’s White House Islamist Eid event by the Secret Service. Mufid Elfgeeh, the former Rochester pizza shop owner imprisoned for recruiting for ISIS, is now accused of attempted murder at a federal prison in Kentucky.

Elfgeeh, 39, was indicted last week in Kentucky on a federal charge of attempted murder. The indictment provides no more information, except identifying the victim by the initials of A.J.W.

8 Rapes Per Day Recorded in Germany’s Most Populous State in 2022

While the number of reported rapes in North Rhine-Westphalia—Germany’s most populous city—increased 25% in 2022 compared to the previous year, the number of rapes involving more than one perpetrator jumped by 43%.

In response to an information request by the national-conservative Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party, data released by the Ministry of the Interior of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia revealed that 2,949 rapes were reported last year, which corresponds to eight rapes per day and represents an increase of more than 25% compared to the previous year.

The number of rapes involving more than one perpetrator—sometimes referred to as ‘gang rapes’—also rose dramatically across North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s most populous state, in 2022, climbing from 172 in 2021 to 246 in 2022, a year-over-year increase of 43%, the news outlet RTL Deutschland reports.

Germany: Ibrahim A. Charged With Murder Following Brokstedt’s Knife Rampage

The accused was deemed harmless by a prison psychiatrist before being released from custody where he was being held because of an earlier knife attack.

Three months after the deadly knife rampage in Brokstedt that saw two young people murdered and five others injured, public prosecutors in Germany have brought forth charges against the perpetrator, Ibrahim. A., a 34-year-old Palestinian.

Ibrahim. A., who previously compared himself to Anis Amri—an Islamist terrorist who in 2016 killed 13 people and injured 67 after plowing through a Christmas market on Berlin’s Breitscheidplatz with his vehicle—on Thursday, April 27th, was formally charged by the Itzehoe public prosecutor’s office with two counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder, Der Spiegel reports.
