The shocking scale of serious crime committed by migrants living in hotels in communities across Britain can be revealed by The Mail on Sunday today.

An investigation by this newspaper has revealed that at least 312 asylum seekers have been charged with an astonishing 708 alleged criminal offences in just three years – including rape, sexual assault, attacking emergency workers and theft.

The Home office said, ‘Removal of foreign national offenders is up by 14% since the last election, and we are also taking action through our Border Security Bill to cancel the asylum claims of anyone convicted of a sex offence.’

Masked rioters clash with police after attacking motorists in French city of Limoges

Officials in Limoges on Saturday said nine officers were injured in overnight clashes with masked assailants wielding metal bars and Molotov cocktails who attacked motorists on one of the main roads into the central city. France’s interior ministry said it was deploying a riot police unit to support local law enforcement.

… Mayor Emile Roger Lombertie called the rioters an “urban guerrilla group”.

“They’re organised, structured, there’s a plan, weapons,” he said.

“This was not a spontaneous protest to complain about something. No pretext, nothing. It’s about destroying things and showing the territory belongs to you,” Lombertie added.

Ailing British couple could die in Taliban custody, UN warns

Two British pensioners, imprisoned by the Taliban for more than five and a half months without charge, are in such perilous health that they could die in custody, a panel of United Nations experts has warned.

Peter Reynolds, 80, and his wife Barbie 76, had been living in Afghanistan for 18 years, running training projects, when they were picked up on February 1 with no explanation. They have spent months locked up in Afghanistan’s most notorious prison then in an underground cell of the intelligence headquarters and Peter has been chained, shackled and hit over the head.

‘They executed him then called his wife to brag’: Inside the Druze city ravaged by militias

Dr Talat Amer, a surgeon at Sweida National Hospital in southern Syria, worked tirelessly for three days as bombs fell and the building came under siege from government and militia forces.

On the fourth day of fighting in the Druze-majority city, Dr Amer was shot in the head as he tried to return to work.

“He was dressed in scrubs and they executed him. Then they called his wife on his phone and bragged about it,” Sami, a surgeon at the hospital, told The Telegraph. Witnesses reported it was regime forces wearing Islamic State badges on their military fatigues.

Syria’s new dawn is already a nightmare

Fighting has engulfed the Druze-majority city of Sweida in southern Syria, leaving over 200 people dead. This week, Druze villages have been overrun by Syrian regime forces and allied Islamist militias under the guise of ‘restoring order’, only for those forces to unleash executions, looting and arson upon Druze neighbourhoods. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, 92 Druze were killed (including 21 civilians executed by government troops) in the space of a few days. In one incident, an 80-year-old Druze sheikh had his moustache, a symbol of honour, forcibly shaved by invading fighters. He was reportedly killed shortly afterwards. This is, it appears, the dark reality of ‘national unity’ under Syria’s new rulers.

Over the last five days, Rima says she has witnessed “barbaric” scenes.

The 45-year-old Druze woman has lived in the southern Syrian city of Suweida her whole life, and never thought her once-peaceful hometown would become the scene of a bloodbath.

What if British culture is part of the problem?

Islamism has thrived thanks to the cowardice and evasiveness of the UK’s liberal elites.

The claim that ‘no culture is better than another’ often tips over into an asymmetrical elevation of ‘the other’ and an abasement of the self. In Britain, advocates of hard multiculturalism tend to celebrate cultures belonging to migrants and their descendants, and to denigrate the culture of the historic, indigenous majority.

Talking freely about Islam ‘feared more than any other religion’

People are more fearful of speaking freely about Islam than any other religion, a survey has found.

Almost twice as many adults feel they have to hold back on expressing their views about the faith as they do for Christianity, according to research by the Commission for Countering Extremism (CCE), which advises the Government.

The study, to be published on Thursday, also found that Islam was the only religion which more people felt was protected “too much” rather than “too little”.

Is Islam irreconcilably anti-American?

Like all forbidden questions, it must be asked. For if Islam is irreconcilably anti-American, we had better be prepared to act before, not after, its ascendancy in American politics places it in a position of unconstitutional political power.

Our nation was founded on the principle of liberty. Prominent among our freedoms is that of religion. The Founders were religiously diverse, but not so diverse as to include, among themselves, religions outside the Jewish and Christian traditions.
