The BBC’s Notoriously Anti-Israel and Pro-Palestinian Middle East Coverage

The BBC has for many decades been notoriously anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian in its Middle East coverage. Among the main offenders there is the execrable John Simpson, who for years was in charge of all foreign broadcasts as head of BBC World Services; there is Jeremy Bowen, now the BBC’s Middle East Editor, and there is Lyse Doucet, now the BBC’s senior foreign correspondent, based in the Middle East, whose antipathy to Israel, and identification with the Palestinian cause, is palpable. Despite their scarcely hidden biases, neither has been subject to any disciplinary action, much less been fired.

California Teacher Union Activist: U.S. Is An ‘Evil Empire’ That Funds ‘Ugly Zionism’

An anti-Israel activist within a California teachers union called Zionism a “sick bourgeois” ideology and claimed that Israeli committed “war crimes.”

According to a report from the Washington Free Beacon, left-wing activist and teacher Soni Lloyd used his Facebook to call the U.S. an “evil empire” that funds “ugly Zionism.” In a May 14 post, the teacher published a YouTube video of Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib entitled, “Watch Rep. Rashida Tlaib Blast U.S. Aid for Israel & Attack on Gaza in Dramatic House Floor Speech.”

This seems par for the course among “educators” nowadays.

And of course among the Glitterati…

Alleged CBC “Journalists” Told They Can’t Cover Israel-Palestine After Signing Letter Demanding Even More Jew Bashing

Two journalists from Canada’s national broadcaster say they’ve been barred from covering the ongoing violence in Israel and the Palestinian territories after signing an open letter calling for more nuanced coverage.

On May 14, an “open letter to Canadian newsrooms on covering Israel-Palestine” began circulating online. The letter, which has now been signed by more than 2,000 people, including many journalists, said Canadian media does not include enough context or Palestinian voices when covering “the ongoing nature of the Israeli occupation.” It ended by asking for “fair and balanced coverage” of the conflict.

MALCOLM: Trudeau needs to muster the courage to condemn Hamas

“This note is being written in the midst of a significant missile attack from Gaza so please forgive my brevity. I am trying to get this out before I have to run to another location.”

That was an email I received from a colleague earlier this week who is working in Israel. That country has fallen into a civil war against the terrorist insurgency group Hamas.

Canadian “Journalists” Sign Anti-Israel Open Letter

HonestReporting Canada is alarmed to see Canadian journalists sign a partisan and one-sided anti-Israel open letter lobbying Canadian news organizations on how to cover the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The May 14 letter entitled: “An open letter to Canadian newsrooms on covering Israel-Palestine” features the names of 1,539 people as of this writing, most who are activists and academics, but several who are from reputable news organizations like the CBC, Toronto Star, Globe and Mail, CTV News, Macleans, Yahoo News Canada, Chatelaine, Global News, IPolitics, etc.

Importantly, the authors of this letter are unknown, but the letter itself is blatantly tendentious, hypocritical and skewed, and its selective use of facts reflect poorly on those who purport to be professional journalists.

‘Anti-Semitism is alive and well in The Hague’

Israeli public figures responded to the ICC announcement that it would investigate Israel for alleged war crimes in Gaza and Judea and Samaria.

Professor Eugene Kontorovich, Director of International Law at the Jerusalem-based Kohelet Policy Forum said the ICC’s opening of the investigation “is entirely unjustified – and predictable, given its longstanding lawless bias against the Jewish state.”

“The Prosecutor today makes a mockery of international criminal law,” he added, accusing the court of becoming a “judicial arm of the U.N. anti-Israel echo chamber.”
