The Wall Street Journal calls him “the world’s golden boy of liberal politics,” while lamenting that a corruption scandal tarnished his “rock-star popularity.” Much of his progressive façade, however, rests on an embrace of identity politics. And, as often happens when ethnic lobbies trump individuals, radicalism wins while the silent majority loses out.

Colonel Douglas Macgregor appeared on Tucker Carlson to give a brutally honest assessment of the conflict in Ukraine. Regarding the transfer of heavy weapons and artillery, Macgregor notes something many have discussed.

The logistics of sending in those weapons from western Ukraine (Poland border) to the eastern Ukraine battle encompasses a thousand-mile trek. Russia can easily hit those convoys en route, negating the supply line. Additionally, the U.S. has sent $4.7 billion in military equipment and financial aid so far, and we have no idea who is in control of those weapons.

Pandora Papers: ‘This is a global network of which Canada is a hub’

The Pandora Papers, the latest leak of offshore financial records, don’t seem to have a particular focus on Canada — at least based on what has been revealed so far.

But they nonetheless shed light on a global network of illicit financial flows of which “Canada is a hub,” says James Cohen, executive director of the Canadian chapter of Transparency International.

Liberal riding association accepted donation from accused Iranian money launderer

A Liberal member of parliament’s riding association received a $240 donation from a man suspected by CSIS of laundering money for the Iranian regime.

Elections Canada records show that Alireza Onghaei, originally from Iran, donated to the Richmond Hill Federal Liberal Association on Dec. 3, 2019. The Liberal MP for Richmond Hill is Majid Jowhari, who was born in Iran.
