Ontario isn’t auditing doctors for excessive claims, A-G finds

Ontario’s Auditor-General says the province isn’t auditing doctors whose billings raise obvious red flags, including 82 doctors who claimed to have worked 24 hours or more in a single day, a diagnostic radiologist who billed for an average of 461 patients a day, and an ophthalmologist who billed $6.7-million in one year, more than twice as much as the next highest biller in the specialty.

The same unnamed ophthalmologist has been investigated three times for allegedly charging patients out-of-pocket fees for services that should be free through the Ontario Health Insurance Plan. The first review found the doctor wrongly charged patients, a second cleared the ophthalmologist, and a third is ongoing.

I’m betting Doug will pour out another bottle of booze when he hears about this.

Sabourin — a whistleblower who has complained of numerous serious incidents inside Canada Border Services Agency that he believes are due to organized crime infiltration — thinks a particular colleague may have leaked his home address to the drug trafficker, whom Sabourin was scheduled to testify against.

I would not be surprised.

The Influence of Gangs on Canada’s Public Sector Agencies: Federal Report

Almost 30 organized crime groups have “influence or access within Canadian public sector agencies or departments primarily at the local or regional levels,” according to a federal report.

The level of infiltration into the public sector is “unknown” for more than 400 other organized crime groups, according to the Public Report on Organized Crime in Canada for 2022, first covered by Blacklock’s Reporter.

‘Completely out of control’: FBI whistleblowers sound alarm on massive corruption

Many Americans view the FBI with suspicion, not respect, these days.

After all, its agents and officials were integral to the now-debunked Russiagate collusion conspiracy that the bureau created, along with Democrats, against President Trump.

Then, of course, there was the recent FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, in which agents purportedly searched for government documents that Trump already had promised they could have if they asked.

Secret Service Has No Text Messages To Offer The Jan. 6 Committee

 

The U.S. Secret Service wasn’t able to turn over text messages to the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, according to The Washington Post, citing a senior official briefed on the situation.

The agency is expected to share the news with the committee on Friday in response to its subpoena, the Post reported. The information provided will be mostly comprised of previous disclosures that won’t add new information, the senior official said.
