FEMA Doesn’t Care About Helping Americans After A Disaster, It Cares About ‘Disaster Equity’

What’s the point of a federal disaster agency if the chief priorities of said agency are not to save Americans from disaster?

In September last year, FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell joined the president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) to sign the “Agreement to Advance Equity in Disaster Resilience.”

According to an NAACP press release, the group’s “Emergency Management Task Force … will meet regularly with FEMA leadership to advance progress on equity within disaster preparedness and resilience.”

Why Non-Christians Should Care About The Olympics Drag Show

The opening ceremonies of the Paris Olympics were deeply offensive to Christians around the world. Numerous people from across the denominational spectrum have described this event as blasphemous and even demonic.

However, I would like to say something to the non-Christians who may be uneasy about the opening ceremonies but cannot quite explain why. Perhaps the opening ceremony bothers you, but you’re not quite ready to align yourself with its Christian critics.

Paris Olympics: a smug spectacle of wokeness

Is anyone else bored of ‘queering’? Everything’s getting ‘queered’ these days. We’ve had ‘Queering the Curriculum’. ‘Queering the Arts’. And my personal favourite: ‘Queering Palestine.’ This entails academics ‘unpack[ing] the multiple intersections of queer politics and the Palestinian struggle’. Hot tip for these profs: if Hamas ever invites you to discuss your theories, don’t agree to meet them on the high floor of a building. ‘Queering the Pavement’ is the only thing they’re interested in.

I haven’t watched the Olympics in years because it’s such a scam.

The Trump shooting has exposed the scourge of safetyism

It was bad enough that the US Secret Service agents surrounding Donald Trump during last Saturday’s assassination attempt appeared distracted as they fumbled with the holsters holding their guns. But it has now emerged that they took a conscious decision not to put operatives on the roof from where shooter Thomas Matthew Crooks was later to launch his attack. Why? Because doing so would pose a health-and-safety risk. Apparently, the sloped roof used by Trump’s would-be assassin was deemed ‘too dangerous’ for agents to use. Such institutionalised cowardice ought to disturb every public figure facing the threat of political violence.

The Kamala transition

Kamala Harris is the de facto abortion czar for the Biden administration.  While discussing the topic, she noted, “So I think it’s very important, as you have heard from so many incredible leaders for us at every moment in time and certainly this one, to see the moment in time in which we exist and are present, and to be able to contextualize it, to understand where we exist in the history and in the moment as it relates not only to the past, but the future.”  These words may be enshrined in the Democrat canon alongside the rhetorical brilliance of Bill Clinton.  When asked if he had sex with that woman, he eloquently concluded, “It depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is.”

Oh, You Thought This Was About Basketball?

The WNBA has always been a vehicle for left-wing activism. Caitlin Clark is learning that the hard way.

If you were under the illusion that the Women’s National Basketball Association was actually about basketball, the league’s reception of Caitlin Clark might strike you as bewildering. Clark began her professional basketball career in May amid an unprecedented amount of positive attention and energy, with all the makings of the first true WNBA superstar. But from the outset, the world of women’s basketball — both the players themselves and the broader ecosystem of journalists, media outlets, and activists who cover them — made no secret of its hostility to the 22-year-old phenom.

Is Fitness Fascist? The Left wants you weak.

One doesn’t expect much substance or insight from the UK’s left-wing Guardian, and a recent opinion piece there – “Getting fit is great – but it could turn you into a rightwing jerk” – did not disappoint on that score, but it did accidentally raise a worthwhile question: does becoming healthier and stronger incline one toward right-wing politics, even fascism?

These High School Classes Teach Boys to Hate Manhood

“Healthy Masculinity” is the most destructive school DEI program you never heard of.

The ‘Healthy Masculinity Club’ at a Portland high school is described as a “place for guys to not be guys” while the ‘Healthy Masculinity’ class at Montpelier High School in Vermont indoctrinates boys on “how traditional concepts of masculinity have harmed women.”

Black like Blackie …

Black scholars criticize white writer’s ‘dehumanizing’ use of blackface to write book on U.S. race relations

A Canadian journalist is defending his decision to travel the U.S. in blackface and write a book about racism, after facing a storm of criticism online.

“Last summer, I disguised myself as a Black man and traveled throughout the United States to document how racism persists in American society,” Sam Forster, who is white, posted Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter. “Writing Seven Shoulders was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done as a journalist.”

The reaction was swift and brutal, with X users expressing anger, amusement and confusion, and telling Forster he should have simply spoken to Black people to understand their experiences.

Jamie Sarkonak: The period bracelet, a cringey fashion statement for Liberal men

It’s hard to find a word that captures the feeling of seeing a man sporting a menstruation bracelet. It’s not quite “creepy” but it’s almost there. It’s strangely invasive, private bodily functions being paraded about and all. And finally, it’s effeminate in the worst possible way.

The feeling was triggered on Tuesday, when a few bold Liberal MPs took it upon themselves to promote “Menstrual Hygiene Day,” another observance in the awareness-raising calendar unbeknownst to the population at large.

Jerry Seinfeld is right: ‘PC cr*p’ is killing comedy

TV comedy just isn’t funny anymore. That’s the verdict of Jerry Seinfeld, stand-up comedy legend and star of Seinfeld, one of the biggest sitcoms of all time.

In an interview with the New Yorker at the weekend, he said:

‘It used to be, you would go home at the end of the day, most people would go, “Oh, Cheers is on. Oh, M*A*S*H is on. Oh, Mary Tyler Moore is on. All in the Family is on.” You just expected, there’ll be some funny stuff we can watch on TV tonight. Well, guess what – where is it?’

Why Are Women Naturally Drawn To Toxic Leftist Beliefs?

Recently, I wrote a piece at The Federalist titled “Hell Hath No Fury Like A Single Liberal Woman,” based on my own experience as a former liberal, and offered some explanation as to why single women make up such a large proportion of the Democrat Party. And why, as Jesse Kelly commented, many of those women seem to be somewhat mentally unstable. Based on comments in my inbox and on social media, the piece was fairly well received. Well, mostly well received. Of course, any time you categorically call a group of people, particularly single women, “crazy,” you’re bound to get some pushback.

Elite Heaven or Real Hell on Earth?

What happens when ideology and dogma trump merit, logic, and safety.

The horrific murder of Laken Riley by a repeated felony offender and illegal alien Jose Ibarra, 26, a Venezuelan citizen, was preventable—had federal immigration laws simply been enforced by the Biden administration.

When called out in his recent State of the Union address, President Biden referenced the deceased Ms. Riley. But Biden misidentified her as “Lincoln Riley”—the USC football coach!

Biden only accurately noted that she “was killed by an “illegal.””

‘He’s a liar and a hate-monger’: Former prime minister Kim Campbell slams Pierre Poilievre

OTTAWA — Former prime minister Kim Campbell called Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre a “liar and a hate-monger,” and suggested she won’t vote for his party in the next federal election.

Campbell, who was a Progressive Conservative prime minister for just over four months in 1993, made the comments on the “Beyond a Ballot” podcast in an episode released on Thursday to mark International Women’s Day.

“I think there might be some quite good people in the Conservative party. I have problems with their leader,” said Campbell.
