Buffalo Social Justice Mayor Unprepared for Storm

“a vision that embraces inclusiveness, equity and opportunity”

Social justice kills. Either directly or indirectly.

While the forecast for Buffalo was dire, given where the city was positioned in relation to the bomb cyclone forming across the Midwest and how the storm would interact with the waters of Lake Erie, questions are being raised about how well officials prepared for the storm.

The woke mob has come for the Christmas tree

Galleries and museums used to delight us with their festive decorations. Now they prefer low-grade agitprop

Christmas trees in their full extravagant, sumptuous glory are perhaps still best sampled in London’s grander Victorian and Edwardian hotels. Without stretching to drinks or tea at five star prices, the capital’s galleries and museums used to be a reliable second best for this seasonal delight. For any children one had in tow, such baubles sugared the pill of being dragged around another exhibition. Sadly, this Yuletide inducement to early cultural immersion can no longer be offered, as these edifying institutions have either given up on Christmas or – worse – feel obliged to give us some “relevant” message.

‘Why do you hate Christians?’: Massachusetts residents blast library amid Christmas drama

Town leaders in Dedham, Massachusetts, felt the wrath of its residents after a local library initially chose not to display a Christmas tree during the holiday season.

While the library ultimately reversed that decision after public outcry, residents at a town hall meeting continued to question the Endicott Branch Library’s motives.

“Why do you hate Christians so much?” one resident asked the officials after one woman said everyone deserved to have their beliefs represented and that a Christmas tree display was “a symbol of Christianity.”

The Stanford Guide to Acceptable Words

Behold the school’s Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative.

… Call yourself an “American”? Please don’t. Better to say “U.S. citizen,” per the bias hunters, lest you slight the rest of the Americas. “Immigrant” is also out, with “person who has immigrated” as the approved alternative. It’s the iron law of academic writing: Why use one word when four will do?

How Big Philanthropy became Big Grift

Effective Altruism is ultimately rooted in saviorism

In 1889, Andrew Carnegie, one of the most ruthless industrialists in American history, wrote an essay entitled “The Gospel of Wealth,” which became the moral playbook for the oligarchs of his time on what to do with their fortunes. Carnegie was determined to overcome his reputation as a “robber baron” by becoming one of the greatest philanthropists who ever lived. The “man of wealth,” Carnegie wrote, should “consider all surplus revenues which come to him simply as trust funds, which he is called upon to administer… in the manner which, in his judgment, is best calculated to produce the most beneficial results for the community.” By pledging it all to posterity, he believed he could transform the fortune he had amassed from a totem of private avarice to a monument of civic virtue.

Woke Indoctrination Is Destroying the Military

It’s not a surprise that recruitment is down. But it is a massive problem.

Asoon-to-be-Republican-led Congress has promised to investigate the calamitous departure from Afghanistan. This is how it should be and is consistent with our country’s tradition of oversight and investigation.

But an even more important priority is investigating the armed forces’ unprecedented recruitment crisis. The falloff is a result of an ideologically driven agenda whose goal it is to transform our military into a woke institution that resembles our failed college campuses instead of into military bases that train men and women to fight and win wars.

Shakespeare’s Titus Andronicus altered to make characters appear ‘more racist’

The Globe Theatre will stage the 430-year-old revenge tragedy and tweak the script so its prejudices are made clear to modern audiences

Shakespeare’s work will be altered to make characters in Titus Andronicus appear more racist to modern audiences.

The Globe Theatre is set to stage the revenge tragedy, notorious as the Bard’s most bloody play, and creatives working on the production plan to tweak its 430-year-old script.

Shakespeare’s language will be swapped for the modern vocabulary of race to make dialogue in Titus Andronicus more racially charged and its characters more obviously prejudiced for contemporary viewers.

Personally I think all of Shakespeare’s plays should be reworked to include Racialized Dwarves and Gay Elves.

Woke Loudoun County superintendent is FIRED after grand jury found school lied to parents about kilt-wearing boy, 15, raping girl in girls’ bathroom

The 15-year-old boy raped his female classmate in a transgender-friendly bathroom at Stone Bridge High School in Virginia in May last year.

The boy, who was wearing a kilt during the incident, was convicted of sexually assaulting another girl at a different school in October last year.

Stop trying to sanitise ‘Fairytale of New York’

The BBC’s censorship of the Pogues’ Christmas classic is an act of cultural vandalism.

It’s that time of year again – there are wreaths on doors, stars on top of Christmas trees and renewed attempts to censor the Pogues’ ‘Fairytale of New York’. Last week, BBC Radio 2 announced that it would join the growing number of radio stations and music channels to censor the Christmas classic.
