Indigenous Chic Confronted: Professor Sues University for Alleged Violation of Free Speech

He created his own land-acknowledgment statement, and the University of Washington didn’t like it.

One of the largely forgotten “isms” in the litany of guilt-inducing “bigotries” thrown at conservatives from the left has been getting a little play lately — colonialism. There’s racism, https://blazingcatfurca.dreamhosters.com/wp-admin/post-new.php#edit_timestampsexism, ageism, ableism, speciesism — we know those only too well — and then the ever-expanding realm of “phobias” — homo-, trans-, xeno-, et al.

Is a ‘Woke Military’ to Blame for Lagging Recruitment?

There’s no denying the huge drop-off in military recruitment. Every service is suffering and statistics show a worrying shortfall of as much as 40% for FY 2022.

Defense officials blame the slump on two causes: teen obesity rates and the tight labor market. It’s true that in the past, recruitment has been tied to the employment situation in the country. When times are tough, young men gravitate to the military. But that doesn’t explain the shortfall of 28,000 recruits for the army. The unemployment rate today sits at 3.6%—roughly the same as in 2019. Yet in 2019, the Army exceeded its recruiting goals.

When did strip clubs go woke?

When I worked for a men’s mag 20 years ago, the Left deplored the objectification of women. It seems times have changed

Peter Stringfellow was routinely denounced by the Left. But if he were alive today, perhaps they’d defend him. Because, improbable as it may seem, Left-wing councillors in Bristol – Brighton’s closest rival for the title of Britain’s wokest city – have just rejected a proposed ban on strip clubs.

According to a Green councillor, shutting down strip clubs would “discount the voices of some women” and “restrict their choices”. A Labour councillor, meanwhile, suggested that strip clubs were actually safer for women than city centre pubs. Hailing the councillors’ decision, the Bristol Sex Workers’ Collective said its members were “screaming, crying, throwing up with joy”.

Commissioner Chastises Cops: Focus on Bulglaries, Not Offensive Memes

A police force has been chastised by its own elected commissioner for arresting a British Army veteran for posting a meme making fun of an LGBT flag on Facebook while burglaries are ignored.

On Thursday, Reclaim Party leader Laurence Fox released footage on social media of an unnamed veteran being arrested by three officers of the Hampshire Constabulary for reposting a meme that had previously landed Fox with a Twitter suspension and even calls for his arrest.

The Commonwoke Games

Pagans.

Woke scolds are ruining everything. Even sport.

Can the woke scolds not leave us alone for five minutes? Judging from last night’s opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games, the answer to that question is a firm No. The ceremony was a big fat finger-wag at the nation, an am-dram lecture to the masses on the right way to think about race, colonialism, gender, blah blah blah. It was like being beaten around the head with a copy of the Guardian for three hours. What ought to have been a sparkling celebration of Blighty ahead of a two-week sporting festival that is exactly the pick-me-up this troubled nation needs was turned by the Beeb and the Birmingham glitterati into yet another opportunity to hector Joe Public about ‘ishoos’. Millions must have switched off.

Woke: the language of tyrants

Even autocrats and terrorists now sound like whiney SJWs.

It’s annoying when one’s words are parroted by people clearly inferior to oneself. With my talent for turning a phrase, this has happened to me a few times. Watching Tony Blair snivelling about the ‘People’s Princess’ (mine) or Owen Jones sniggering about ‘cry-bullies’ (mine again) it’s not a pleasant experience to see one’s pearls spewed by swine. But if one believes in absolute freedom of speech – as I do – it must be borne with Stoic cheer, recalling the old saw ‘imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’.

Queen Victoria cancelled in Toronto, public school renamed to Dr. Rita Cox-Kina MInogok

A group of black activists and Toronto school officials have quietly cancelled Queen Victoria.

The name of a Parkdale public school was changed near the end of June from Queen Victoria to Dr. Rita Cox-Kina MInogok public school.

The change came with little fanfare, likely considering the outrage from several at the prospect of cancelling history when the project was first announced in May of 2021.

‘Stop Using These Made Up Words’: Comic Con Slaps Woke Term On Filipino Panel, Gets Torched

The San Diego Comic Con took some heat this week for slapping a woke label on a panel featuring Filipino “Voices In Pop Culture”: Filipinx.

Much like the often-criticized term Latinx — which has been widely panned by members of the very community it is used to describe — the convention’s social media team’s use of the term Filipinx appeared to be an attempt to be gender-inclusive.

Don’t give skeletons a gender or categorise their race as this ‘contributes to white supremacy’, woke activists demand

Gender activists want scientists to stop categorising ancient human remains as either male or female – because they cannot be sure how the deceased identified themselves when they were alive.

Woke warriors have also insisted that archaeologists no longer categorise the race of remains as this ‘contributes to white supremacy’.

Critics said last night that such demands would lead to a rewriting of history and imposing current ideology ‘where it doesn’t belong’.

The Army ‘Woke’ College: These days, wokeness is a better means to promotion than performance in combat.

These days, wokeness is a better means to promotion than performance in combat.

The U.S. Army War College’s newest acronym is DEI: diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Spring 2022 issue of Parameters, the flagship journal of the War College, features an article by Lt. Col. Danielle Holt (a surgeon and a graduate of the War College) and Col. Susan Davis (a physical therapist and also a graduate of the War College) on the topic “Interrupting Bias in Army Talent Management.” The article is included in a section of the journal under the heading “Highlighting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” The once famed U.S. Army War College has gone woke.

Woke dance school drops ballet from auditions as it is ‘white’ and ‘elitist’

Ballet has been dropped from auditions at leading dance schools as staff say it is rooted in “white European ideas”.

The Northern School of Contemporary Dance (NSCD), which aims to be a “progressive institution”, has reviewed the “elitist” art form as part of a diversity drive that has seen the introduction of new policies relating to gender and race.

Ballet has been ditched as a requirement for school-entry auditions because of its “contentious nature”, with teaching staff explaining that the traditional mode of dance comes with the baggage of “white European ideas”.

WaPo censors its own headline telling Dems to ‘forget pronouns’ after liberals come unglued on Twitter

The Washington Post censored a headline by liberal political commentator Fareed Zakaria who was ripped apart by leftists on Twitter after he advised Democrats to “forget pronouns” to avoid being wiped out in the midterm elections.

On Thursday, The Washington Post ran with Zakaria’s headline, “Forget Pronouns: Democrats need to become the party of building things.” He shared the opinion piece link on Twitter, stating that getting “stuff done” is “a lot more important to most Americans than using the right pronouns.”
