Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is accused of ‘violating history’ by portraying Joan of Arc as non-binary in new play using the pronouns ‘they’ and ‘them’

Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre is portraying historical icon Joan of Arc non-binary, sparking its very own tempest and claims of ‘violating history’.

A new production of I, Joan is billed as ‘powerful and joyous’ and ‘questioning the gender binary’.

But while it is yet to open at the world-famous venue on August 25, pre-publicity uses the pronouns ‘they’ and ‘them’ when referring to the French historical figure.

The CBC is about to get WAY worse

The CBC is about to get 30% more woke thanks to new requirements imposed on them by the Canadian Radio‑television and Telecommunications (CRTC). The CBC will now have to dedicate 30% of its English-language programming to woke causes such as promoting “racialized” voices,” “disabled voices” and language minorities. Did anyone on the woke left really feel that the CBC wasn’t serving them enough biased left wing content? Also, doesn’t the CBC already surpass that target? Harrison Faulkner breaks it all down on this week’s episode of Ratio’d.

The Hydra-Headed Monster of Contemporary Censorship

Week before last, I told you about a lawsuit brought by the state Attorneys General of Missouri and Louisiana against the Biden administration for colluding with Big Tech to censor free speech on COVID, the 2020 election, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and mail-in voting, among other things. The case is getting interesting because the judge is allowing the plaintiffs to proceed with discovery and because people who were censored – the Gateway Pundit and scientists and doctors who criticized the COVID lockdowns – have joined the suit.

So keep your eye on that one, but understand the move to silence the political Right in this country is not confined to the Biden administration. Every corner of the Left is jumping in.

‘Snowflake’ parents want Dick Turpin ride renamed

A Tory MP has said calls to change the name of a Dick Turpin ride are “the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard of in my life”.

A row erupted after a Dick Turpin carriage ride, which tells the story of the highwayman’s exploits, opened at York Dungeon last month — and parents complained that the name was offensive.

The attraction, owned by the leisure giant Merlin, said it had received “a number of requests for the character to be renamed to Richard due to the apparent rude nature of his nickname”.

‘Orwellian’: School District Encourages Entire Town To Report Violations Of ‘Anti-Racism’ Policy

The “Anti-racism, Anti-Discrimination and Anti-Harassment Policy” at South Kingstown school district in Rhode Island says anyone in the educational community is “personally responsible” and must “immediately report” different kinds of racism including, “cyber racism,” “interpersonal racism” and “institutional racism,” according to the district policy. The policy states that “any member of South Kingstown is encouraged to report incidents or allegations of incidents” that break anti-racism policy guidelines.

ESG HELL: Major World Economic Forum-Tied Bank Exec Advocates Personal Carbon Wallets

A powerful Dutch banking executive signaled support for personal carbon wallets that would give citizens — and perhaps even a government regulator — the ability to track carbon emissions on a micro scale. Is this an early look at what the U.S. has in store if it doesn’t stop woke environmental, social and governance policies?

Police SCRAP hate-crime ‘re-education’ courses after storm over army veteran arrested for a tweet

A hate crime awareness course which gave alleged offenders the chance to avoid prosecution has been scrapped by a police chief.

Hampshire Constabulary was among three forces in the country that ran the two-hour educational sessions for people accused of racism, sexism, misogyny and transphobia.

The restorative justice scheme was funded out of the force’s Police and Crime Commissioner’s budget, but faced controversy when a 51-year-old army veteran was offered the course after retweeting a meme – which showed four LGBT pride flags positioned to make a swastika.

Woke food lovers have lost their minds over ‘cultural appropriation’

When Kermit the Frog found El Sleezo Cafe, a stereotypically Mexican joint in 1979’s “The Muppet Movie,” he nervously muttered, “Foreign food … but a man’s gotta eat.” Never mind that the house special turned out to be frog’s legs — such a scene today would go straight to the cutting-room floor and the creators exiled to Cancelville.

Once upon a time, it was permissible to make light-hearted fun of cuisines that were unfamiliar or exotic to film audiences.

The collapse of the ‘diversity’ industry can’t come soon enough

Far from promoting racial cohesion, hyper-political HR activists have normalised racism in the workplace

Many black people will attest that it isn’t unusual to fall prey to “well-meaning” assumptions about our supposed “victimhood”. There are those, usually on the Left, who think that we ethnic minorities are always suffering and that we therefore require their support and counsel, whether we know it or not.

That is what seems to have happened at the broadcaster Sky, where a diversity officer told a colleague of Latina heritage that she must have been “oppressed”. The colleague rightly objected and she later won a claim of race discrimination at an employment tribunal for the comments.

Oberlin College, Facing $36 Million Penalty for Defamatory Woke Activism, Dives Deeper Into Wokism

It failed to learn the lesson “Get woke, go broke.”

The historically liberal Oberlin College, located in Oberlin, Ohio, is still refusing to pay up for defaming Gibson’s Bakery as racist in 2016.

The college, which is financially underwater, has now asked the Ohio Supreme Court to halt the multi-million dollar judgment while it appeals the decision for the second time. Earlier this year, the Ninth Ohio District Court of Appeals upheld a jury’s finding that Oberlin committed libel, slander, and interference with business relationships against Gibson’s after it encouraged student protests over a bakery employee’s pursuit of a black student who had shoplifted.

California school district spends $20K on ‘Woke Kindergarten’ to ‘disrupt whiteness’, promote anti-police, anti-prison ideology

The Washington Examiner reports that Hayward Unified School District recently contacted Woke Kindergarten for a month-long training session for staffers at Glassbrook Elementary School, where they will be taught to “disrupt whiteness, white dominant/settler colonial narratives and anti-Blackness in the Glassbrook community.” Woke Kindergarten touts itself as a “global, abolitionist early childhood ecosystem & visionary creative portal.” It was founded by Akiea “Ki” Gross, who uses they/them pronouns.

Gross is described as an “abolitionist early educator, cultural organizer and creator currently innovating ways to resist, heal, liberate and create with their pedagogy, Woke Kindergarten,” in in the “who we are” section of Woke Kindergarten’s web site.

Diversity officer guilty of racism after telling colleague ‘you must have been oppressed’

Assumption that colleague ‘suffered oppression’ because of their skin colour was ‘a form of stereotyping’, employment tribunal finds

A diversity officer racially discriminated against a mixed race colleague at broadcaster Sky by telling her she must have been “oppressed” because of her Latina heritage, an employment tribunal has ruled.

Jane Bradbury was left “distressed” after Rosemary Cook made the remark as she prepared to deliver a presentation about racism in the wake of the murder of George Floyd and emergence of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Biden’s Cybersecurity Chief Says National Security Apparatus Must Focus on ‘Dismantling Systemic Racism’

Is there a single agency in Old Joe Biden’s catastrophic administration that hasn’t been completely corrupted and politicized? Apparently not. Recently, the White House announced that it appointed Camille Stewart Gloster to the post of Deputy National Cyber Director for Technology and Ecosystem Security; she will lead the Office of the National Cyber Director’s “ongoing efforts to strengthen the security and development of our Nation’s cyber ecosystem — across people, processes, and technology.” That’s great, but Camille Stewart Gloster herself has other priorities in mind: she has repeatedly claimed that the real national security we face is “systemic racism.”
