The mayor of Ontario’s largest city called for a return to a full lockdown Monday, saying the move is necessary to prevent the health-care system from being completely overwhelmed by a surge of COVID-19 cases.
John Tory stressed the “urgency of acting quickly” in enacting new restrictions, a day before the provincial government is expected to announce a series of additional pandemic measures.
Premier of Quebec, Francois Legault, has introduced a COVID-19 curfew to help reduce the province’s rising case numbers. It went into effect this past Saturday Jan 8th. Measures include an provincewide curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. with exemptions for essential workers.

Fifty years ago, I was a young teen growing up in Montreal. The fans of separation were being fanned by a group called Front de libération du Québec (FLQ).

The government is reportedly considering having the measures in place from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. It would mean that most residents could not leave their properties during that time.
Police departments across Quebec issued dozens of $1,550 fines as the province’s curfew, which aims to reduce the number of COVID-19 cases, went into effect Saturday night.
In Montreal, the provisional count of infractions stood at 17 after a group of people were ticketed for protesting near the Mont-Royal métro station, said police spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

Manitoba is in full coronavirus lockdown mode. In person church services are cancelled. Non-essential items are roped off in retail stores. Restaurants are closed. Nothing is normal anymore, not even birthdays.
Americans want freedom and the truth. They don’t want to beaten by the police for holding peaceful protests.
