The Debate That Became a Trump Infomercial

The debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump was so heavily slanted in Trump’s favor that it almost could have been paid for as a Trump campaign event.

It did not take more than five minutes to see the difference between Trump and Biden: while the incumbent president sounded tired and weak, Trump was energetic, vigorous, almost conversational. The longer they got into the debate, the more shallow Biden’s lines got, while Trump maintained his reasoning, his multi-clause sentences, his command of facts.

The best we can say about Biden after this debate is that he could go home afterward and sleep.

After the debate, the deluge

Following Biden’s horrific debate performance, the Democrats have an enormous problem, best captured in the name of a recent TV series: Schitt’s Creek. Paddles for sale! Democrats should max out their credit cards buying them.

Every sentient Democrat should be in full-scale panic. It’s not that Trump’s debate performance was all that great. It wasn’t. Everything people think about him, for better or worse, was on full display.

Trump campaign hopes Biden stays in race as ex-president changes tone

Donald Trump hailed Joe Biden as his most dangerous rival in a speech on Friday, in what some see as a bid to stave off having the president replaced with a more formidable opponent.

At a rally in Virginia on Friday, Trump revelled in the criticism of President Biden’s shambolic performance in the first presidential debate, seeing it as acknowledgement of his victory.

Bob Woodward calls Biden’s dismal debate performance a ‘political H-bomb’

Longtime Washington Post editor and Watergate reporter Bob Woodward shared serious concerns about President Biden’s dismal debate performance — and likened the president’s fumbling to a “political hydrogen bomb.”

“I think the answer here is in reporting, in seeking very aggressively, an explanation — what happened here?” Woodward, 81, told MSNBC’s Air Melber on Friday.

Woodward said Biden’s debating was “so bad, so awful” that the American people had a right to know what was going on.

‘The Movement to Convince Biden to Not Run Is Real’

One House Democrat said he spoke for others in the wake of the president’s stunningly feeble debate performance on Thursday: “The movement to convince Biden to not run is real.”

The House member, an outspoken defender of the president, said that House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer should consider “a combined effort” to nudge President Joe Biden out of the race.

Can Democrats Just Dump Biden And Move On? It’s Not That Simple

Will Democrats replace Joe Biden as their presidential nominee?

It’s not that simple, logistically or politically, as long he’s still alive. States have pretty strict rules on last-second ballot changes, but Democrats have always found ways to get courts to rewrite laws for them at the last second. Just look at what they did for Frank Lautenberg and Robert Torricelli in New Jersey. It would be a heavy lift but not an impossible one.

‘Biden can’t do it’: European politicians shocked by US president’s debate flop

European politicians, already drowning in multiple crises of their own, were left shell-shocked and aghast at Joe Biden’s meandering performance in Thursday’s presidential debate, aware that a second Trump term had drawn that much nearer – with all that this implies for the rise of populism in the continent, the future of Nato, and for Ukraine and the Middle East.

The voices of despair came from across the mainstream political spectrum, interspersed with the odd call for Europe to prepare even more intensively for a Trump second coming.

“American democracy killed before our eyes by gerontocracy,” Guy Verhofstadt, a member of the European parliament and a former prime minister of Belgium, posted on X.

New York Times editorial board calls on Biden to drop out

Not sure if this Time cover is real but it should be.

The New York Times editorial board called on President Biden to suspend his campaign after his shaky debate performance against former President Trump on Thursday.

“Mr. Biden has said that he is the candidate with the best chance of taking on this threat of tyranny and defeating it. His argument rests largely on the fact that he beat Mr. Trump in 2020,” the board wrote. “That is no longer a sufficient rationale for why Mr. Biden should be the Democratic nominee this year.”

The Most Disastrous Debate Performance in U.S. History

The loud, lingering question: can his candidacy survive this?

It started with a “Hello, Cleveland” moment. Joe Biden gingerly shuffling to the podium and saying in a husky whisper “Great to be here, thank you” to an empty room foreshadowed.

The 90 minutes that followed showcased a candidate struggling to articulate coherent thoughts in complete sentences and occasionally suffering brain freezes.

Republican Calls Out CNN Panel Propping Up Biden, ‘Lying’ to All Americans

The liberal media was finally forced to admit that the senile president wasn’t wearing clothes following Thursday’s presidential debate hosted by CNN. As a member of a predominantly liberal/pro-Biden panel, Republican commentator Scott Jennings took them all to tack for trying to prop up President Biden’s campaign and lying to the American people about how cogent he obviously wasn’t.
